  mp3 playback on mvp w/gbpvr
Posted by: michaelc5047 - 2005-06-27, 04:53 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (4)

Hello all --

total noob here, have been using MediaMVP with Hauppauge's software for about six months now and SageTV Recorder to manually record programs. Got GBPVR up and running tonight and am really, really amazed at how good it is.

Have a couple of question re: MP3 playback.

1.) Is it possible to fast-foward/rewind within a playing track? If it's not possible with the core GBPVR, is it with some of the plugins I've read about?

2.) Is there a way to shorten the gap between tracks when it's playing all tracks in a folder? The pause seems a bit long.

Anyway -- kudos, this is an amazing program!

  FM Radio
Posted by: easymacfu - 2005-06-27, 03:19 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Ok, so I'm trying everything I can to get the FM radio to work, but it seems like it just doesn't want to work with me right now. A few months ago, I had it working, but I've since re-installed GBPVR a few times, so whatever I did to get it working, I've long forgotten how (kind of like how my Ipod magically started working again after 4 formats).

Anyway, so I have the antenna plugged in. I've run the lame reg.bat. I can go into GBPVR and click on the radio station. The program freezes for about 10 seconds, then it goes back to normal. The tray icon is green, which I think means it is working. However, no sound ever comes out. It does not matter the station. I then go and look at the .mp3 file that is created, and it says it is 0 bytes, which leads me to believe nothing is being put out. Am I missing something? do I need to run the lame reg from the command line?

Thank you for whatever help you can offer.

  Attack of the RSS Ticker
Posted by: tomahawk51 - 2005-06-27, 12:06 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (3)

Help please...

I have tried a number of things, and perhaps I am being ignorant, but I cannot seem to disable the RSS ticker from the News reader plugin.

It continually says Dilbert, comic for date a, date b, date c...

I have some strange, unfounded, idea that it may relate to the video archiver plugin, as it seems that it started after installing this. Again, this may only be abd recollection. I have unchecked the video archiver plugin, and it still persists.

Thanks in advance for any ideas!

  My Videos v4.1
Posted by: reven - 2005-06-26, 11:20 PM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (5)

Download: My Videos v4.1.0.0

Whats new
- TV.com used for Episode Lookup/Browse (TVTome is no more, the bastards sold out)
- Completely rewrote the episode lookup code (its now like 99% successful, ie 99% of the time it returns the correct show (ive never had a failure, but im sure it wont be 100% damn close thou)).
- Popup Menu and Scan Menu are now configurable via the config application (under My Videos settings/Menus). With the wonderful help of sub (he did the hard part)
- "Find Episode List" - incase a show cant seem to find the correct episode list you can manually look it up (the urls are stored in an xml file)
- Rewrote the Popup menu code, which fixes a few bugs and uses a little less memory
- fixed the missing 'g' for the phone style entry
- fixed a few other bugs

Installation
- unzip all the .dll files into there correct directories (the zip has the directory structure).
- if upgrading from my videos 4.0.x just unzip the new skin files (yes the skin has been updated, but still will work with skins from 4.0.x). You don't need to do anything else (but i suggest you customize the popup menu, remove the items you dont use eg "OFDB" is only useful for germans).
- if not upgrading from 4.0.x read the wiki (http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/) it explains how to install the plugin

Bugs/Support/Suggestions
- Post a message in the "Plugins/Skin Support forum".

Complaints
- piss off

enjoy

Hauppauge Nova-T 909: Division by Zero errors, then can't find device!
Posted by: funkybro_uk - 2005-06-26, 09:43 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

HI all. My Nova-T used to work reasonably well with GB-PVR. Until, that is, I experimented and tried installing MediaPortal. From that moment on, recordings still worked ok, but viewing Live TV resulted in Division by Zero error messages appearing. I tried uninstalling MP, to no effect, then uninstalling and reinstalling GB-PVR. It now crashes at the config menu, where it previously used to start scanning for channels, I get the error message: GB-PVR could not start your BDA device. Ensure it is properly configured and not in use (or something like that).

The MP factor could be a red herring, but my problems did start roughly around the time I installed it.

Any ideas?
Thanks!

After leaving the GBPVR.exe program open for about a week, I get the following error message and the screen behind the error message is white with a red x through it.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just in time (JIT) debugging, the config file for this
application or machine (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the machine
rather than being handled by this dialog.

This has only started happening with the laster couple of release of GBPVR. I am using and Athlon 1800 with 512mb of ram and W2K with all the latest service packs. It mostly sits at the main menu. I am using the default skin as well with no plugins.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Paul

  Poor playback on non-primary display
Posted by: mobiusnz - 2005-06-26, 09:21 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I have a Gforce FX5200 I'm using for both RCA TV-Out to my TV and SVGA out to my projector. The problem is that the playback is poor on the TV Out unless I set it to be the primary device (and the opposite is also true). My question is how are other people getting around this - is there a quick way to switch the primary device via a macro or is there someway to tweak the settings to get smooth playback on both (I suspect not as its to do with video chipset performance?).

Any tips here greatly appreciated.

  Automated Running of ShowAnalyzer
Posted by: lseats - 2005-06-26, 05:01 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (10)

Has anyone been able to run ShowAnalyzer from the postprocessing.bat file?

I can run Comskip fine like that but when I try to run ShowAnalyzer directly or with Comskip proxy it does nothing.

The only thing that I know of that would be somewhat unusual about my setup is that I'm running Server 2003.

ShowAnalyzer runs just fine if I run it manually.

Just a few questions from a beginner
Posted by: chr - 2005-06-26, 02:13 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

this is my first experience with a real pvr program, and i am very happy with it. great job sub. i just have a few simple questions, as i am not very familiar with some of the features on this program.

1) whenever i turn on live tv, it automatically starts recording and creating a file. is there a way to just watch and not record? it shows a recording bar towards the top of the tv window.

2) scan lines. i have many scan lines and it does bother me a little bit. i have the cyberlink mpeg2 decoder installed, and in the configuration, i have live preview mode disabled. i have tried using the microsoft program which allows you to choose your mpeg2 decoder, and the one i was using was the cyberlink sp. any other ideas? i tried installing dscaler, but it wouldn't show up in the list to choose from.

here is some information about my hardware:
ati tv wonder elite
bfg geforce 7800 gtx oc
amd athlon 64 3700+
1gb ocz pc3200 gold
74gb western digital 10,000rpm 8mb hd

thanks for any help.
