  Sat>IP device not accessible
Posted by: Connor - 2019-10-06, 08:34 PM - Forum: Docker amd64 - Replies (23)

Dear,

I wanted to do my first steps with NPVR in order to compare it performance wise with TVHeadend.
To do so, I set up a Docker instance on my Synology NAS. The container is running well and is using the same net as the host.

Unfortunately, I do not have access to my Kathrein EXIP 414E (Sat>IP) device.
Due to the settings, it should be accessible via the host net - but it isn't.

So, what can I do - or how can I add what kind of information?
I tried to include the log files as attachment - but this is seemingly not allowed.

Thank you for your feedback and support,
best regards,

Connor

V5 and the Popcorn Hour NMT Devices
Posted by: jghanisco - 2019-10-06, 07:33 PM - Forum: Other Clients - Replies (8)

It appears that the ability to utilize Popcorn Hour devices is going to be removed from V5 - could this be confirmed?

Thanks,
Joe

  Error after latest update
Posted by: Ranbato - 2019-10-06, 07:14 PM - Forum: Linux - Replies (10)

I downloaded the latest NPVR.zip file this morning since I saw that there was a new one.
Since then it always fails to record with the following error:
Have received 0 bytes from rtp source

There is an error on startup, but I don't know what might have changed to cause it.
Also, even after downloading and unzipping the latest zip, the UI still shows: Version: 5.0.0.190916  (5.0.0.191006 is available for download)

Attached logs.  I don't see anywhere it connecting to the actual IP of my tuners, but I don't have the old logs to compare to when it was working.  May have to revert to see what changed.

Windows Service Hangs in "Starting" status after using InstallService.batch
Posted by: BrettB - 2019-10-06, 07:01 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (13)

I was out of town when sub first did the release with the installservice.bat to create the Windows service, so didn't try it right away. Yesterday, I upgraded to the latest 20191005 version, and tried to use the installservice.bat. It seemed to create the service OK, but when it tried to start it, I got the error

Code:
The NextPVR Service service is starting........ The NextPVR Service service could not be started. The service did not report an error.
I did not find any entries in the Windows logs. And no NRecord.log got created. When I manually killed the process for the "starting" service, I could manually run the NextPVRserver.exe like I've been doing all along just fine.

Today, I shut down the server, removed the service which had been created, installed the 20191006 version, and again ran the installservice.bat (in an Administrator command prompt window). I got the same results. The service gets created, but apparently "hangs" during startup. I'm not sure what else to do to try troubleshooting this.

Trying to update to the latest version. Followed the instructions but I'm getting this error.  All the files seem to be there.  Thanks for the help!

Haven't seen a place to post but is there a place that we should submit logs when NPVR crashes to help diagnose issues?

Thanks!

  IPTV Channel Looping/Playback Issues
Posted by: kalebroc - 2019-10-05, 08:05 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (23)

I'm having the following issue:

Regardless of the client I use, be it kodi of the NextPVR client itself the following happens - I switch to an IPTV channel, it starts playing then loops back to the start of when it started playing, this happens randomly with the loop happening at anything from 10sec to over a couple of minutes. I have tested the same M3U file in both VLC player and Kodi and this does not happen at all. At this point I can only think that its something to do with NextPVR. I have attached the logs and the system it is running on is as follows:

Intel Core i3 4130
6GB RAM
240GB SSD System Drive (CSmile
1TB SSHD Data Drive For Recordings (DSmile
Intel HD 4400 On-Board Graphics
Intel Gigabit NIC
Clean Install Of Windows 10 Pro x64 With All Updates , Latest Drivers & LAV Filters, NextPVR v4.2.4

Any help would be really apprciated.

EPG content partially missing in iOS
Posted by: markn62 - 2019-10-05, 07:16 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (10)

Got v5 m3u and epg setup working well until I tried cleaning up virtual IPTV sources.  Now the Guide content is missing about 1/2 way down but only in iOS devices. Locally the NextPvr client shows correctly and local browser shows correctly, see attached.  Whats more odd is in iOS if I goto Channels and change from Favorites (which I created) and change to All Channels, then the content that was missing shows properly.  I could delete the favorite and create all over, which is about an hour job, since "auto map" doesn't line up the 3rd party EPG channels well using either of the two methods. But I hesitate since the problem is only on iOS. I rechecked my Favorite settings and all looks fine, no differences between showing and no shows.  Restarted server & clients. No change. Suggestion on a first corrective action?

  UK EPG/Channel Numbers help
Posted by: supercat - 2019-10-05, 12:45 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (1)

Hi,

I have been playing with nextPVR5 over the past week and new to this type of software but its going ok. I am curently trying to finalise the backend before devoting time to the clients. Great software and kudos to the developers.

I am running a physical Server 2019 box with a TBS 6909-X octa tuner pci-e card. NextPVR sees the 8 tuners and i have managed to scan channels on 28.2E using the default scan settings. I have tested clients on the frontend and managed to get streams to play so doing well! The issue/questions i have are based around the EPG and more importantly the Channel Numbers.

I cannot get Schedules Direct to populate every freesat channel - not crappy channels but ones like BBC HD. I also cannot find an easy way to rearrange channel numbers.

EPG:

  • Is Schedules Direct the only way of getting EPG?
  • When populating via Schedules Direct by entering postcode etc. What should i be choosing for freesat? Every option has a -cable suffix. Should i be selecting all of them?
Channel Numbers:
  • How can i auto re-arrange channels to be in "normal" order?
My 7 day free trial just expired with Schedules Direct so trying to understand a bit better before signing up.

 Thanks in advance!
