I changed the NextPVR recording service logon (Win7) to user and I can archive and record to a Win10 network shared drive. I know about the localsystem permission is the reason I was having problems archiving to the network share. So far I haven't figured out how to give "localsystem" access. Can I just leave the recording service logon as is or is it best practice to change the permissions on the network computer? How do I set the permissions on a Win10 box on a mixed Win7/10 network?
No hits searching v5/windows regarding multiple recording directories. Any way to get more than one at this point in development, perhaps via file edit? So far I like what I see compared to TvMosaic. More stable, more intuative, much better support. Thanks guys for your help transitioning.
I need to modify the beginning part of the URL for my IPTV provider. I have a lot of these channels configured with Schedules Direct. I performed a Export Channels in the past, made some simple edits in a text editor but while importing the EPG's from Schedules Direct did not come back and instead the sources all came back as None. I also lost all groupings after the import.
1. is there a way to perform a search and replace without exporting
2. if the only way to do this is to export then what must be done for the Groups to remain in tact and for the EPG sources to be imported as well?
When might the timeshift function be returning to Kodi (18.4 or above)?
This is probably the main reason that I can't retire version 4 yet Wife is just too used to going back to see what she just missed while watching live TV.
Other reason is complex Remote Control Operation compared to the old NPVR interface - guess some training required there.
I accidentally deleted one of my channel groups and had to redo my m3u. I cleared the channels listed in the device and thought it was removed. After importing my m3u in the blank IPTV device the empty device is back with no option to delete it. This is also causing my channel group I accidentally removed to still not show up in the guide.
As I'm working on recreating things from my production system on my test v5 system, I've found another issue.
I have a manual recording with advance rules to automatically record all series premiers. And I can't figure out how to create such a recording with v5 right now. The web app Scheduler | + button let's met create a manual recording, but it doesn't have a field for the Advance Rules and it won't allow me to select "Any Channel". Using the Remote UI via knewc, I can go to the Recordings hidden menu and select Man-Rec which will allow me to set the Channel to "Any Channel", but won't let me change the Name from "Default" nor enter anything in the Advance Rules field.
Am I missing something? It has been a LONG time since I last created a Manual Recording with v4, so I don't recall exactly how I did it there.
This afternoon I started watching GB vs Dallas NFL game with Kodi and NPVR v4 running. I had extended timeshift enabled. I initiated a recording from kodi so I could watch it this evening. When I wanted to watch the game later Kodi listed the recording and that it had a duration of 2:53:08. But it only played for a few minutes then stopped. I looked for the file in the recordings location where it should but there was nothing there. I found that what Kodi was playing what was left in the C:\temp folder on the NPVR server.
Any ideas what happened and why it failed? The recording started at 3:57PM (15:37) Kodi debug and NPVR logs attached
I think that this is a known "feature"/issue. I think that I recall somewhere sub mentioned looking into trying to better distinguish the different types of HDHR devices to more intelligently copy configurations, but I'm not sure if he's done anything about that yet. I'm also wondering if there is any sort of work-around at the moment.
On my test v5 system, I've got three HDHRs (1 Quatro using ATSC for OTA, but using the NextPVR HDHR device and 2 Primes using CableCards).
For my initial testing, I had all 4 of the Quatro's tuners configured and 1 of the tuners on one of the Primes. I wanted to add the other 5 Prime tuners. I started by configuring tuners 1 then 0 on the Prime which was already being used. And I selected the option to copy the configuration from the similar device already configured. Seemed to work great for those 2 tuners. Then when I went to tuner 2 on the first Prime, it copied the configuration from the Quatro rather than the other Prime.
I know this is still beta, but I've seen a few issues with v5 that I would like to help correct, but not sure if you are needing/asking for help/contributors or not. (I don't see a link to a GIT repo anywhere...) If so, I would love to help. If not, is there anything I can do to make your lives easier?
These are the minor issues that I've seen (I imagine you are aware of them, but here they are anyway):
Recording on "All Channels" doesn't work. The recording schedule only shows up for a single channel even if the "All Channels" option is selected. All the normal symptoms are there to indicate something that is still being worked on (e.g. the "All Channels" value isn't selected when re-opening the schedule, actually pending recordings only are for a single channel, etc.)
In the Schedules screen, when using the "Default" value for the padding values, the drop-downs just show up as blank.
If you accidentally try to create a schedule for a show that already exists, a new schedule is created instead of editing the existing one. Perhaps this is intended behavior, but it would be nice to recognize an existing schedule for the recording and just change the existing schedule.
Anyway, I'd love to help, if you need/want it.
By the way, I'm on the docker image on v5.0.0.191006 with a HDHomeRun tuner.
When I click on the Record Series button after selecting a show in the Guide in the web app, it is now generating a Manual Recordings for Daily, Any Channel with the Advance Rules "title like 'show name'" rather than a normal recurring recording for that show on that channel. (Which I'm pretty sure is what it was doing back in the beginning.) Is that change intended behavior?
