Here are some comments/issues testing V5, 191007. This is a beta, so all this is to help, it's not bitching. Environment is Windows 10, 1903. Asus Prime Z390A with Intel I7 Gen 9 CPU. Gigabyte (Nvidia) GeForce GTX 1050 display adapter. NPVR 4.2.4.
1. I guess I'm missing something but my blaster does not work. Not knowing any better, I entered the location of the V4 Haupblast when I setup my channels. It IS working in V4, so it's not Haupblast. Is there a blaster for V5 that I don't know about? I have not seen this complaint on the forum, so I'm pretty sure I screwed something up.
2. Nothing really fits my screen when using the client. Everything is hacked off at the right side. Live TV looks OK, but all the menus and other stuff don't fit. It appears that the resolution is wrong to me, since things are kind of pixelated. This does not apply to the web browser interface. I tried fiddling with settings, but didn't seem to do anything.
3. Live TV works in the client, but it does not work for me in the web interface (Firefox). The guide come up, I can select a show and I get the normal messages, but then nothing.
4. I noted this in a previous post, but when on the Devices screen, there should be a message if you click "Import" without first setting up SD in the Guide settings.
5. Config.xml DOES have the <WaitLongerBeforeRecordingCapture> entry, but it DOES NOT have <WaitLongerDelay> entry.
6. Often times, Ctrl-C will not stop the server app. Have to kill it with Task Manager.
7. I cannot reliably select items with the mouse, especially in the client menu and the client guide. What I click is not what I get. If I use the arrow keys and ENTER, all is well.
Finally got around to giving this a whirl. I have V4 installed and running. I started the server, then the client. Went into settings>Devices and Channels>Devices. I did not see my Colossus 2, but did see something with "Hauppauge" and "Crossbar" in it, so I tried that. Didn't work and I got hung up. Stopped everything and tried again. Now, I see no devices at all. Stopped the V4 recording service and tried again. No dice. No devices. I can send a log file, but not sure which one it will be at this point. Searched for this issue but didn't find it here (possibly not using search correctly). Attached log files, but I cannot reproduce the first issue, so I'm not sure if this one is useful.
Currently the Record Series button on an episode pop-up from the Guide in the Web App will schedule an All Episodes recurring recording. In may case, since I have good data from Schedules Direct, I basically never use All Episodes recordings. I only use the All New Episodes option. Would you consider either have buttons for both options or a way to specify (could be in config.xml) which type the Record Series button generated?
If I "Record Series" from a web browser session of NextPvr/TvGuide, then I want to cancel the series recording typically there is a "cancel this episode" button AND a "cancel this series" button. There is only a "cancel recording" button which is effectively the former. So it leaves a long list of unwanted series recordings remaining in the scheduler. Just want to ensure this is known and on the fix list. Thanks.
If someone is on a particular channel, is there any way to output to another individual what channel is currently being used, or could this be implemented in the future? My upload is on gigabit. So multiple users is not a problem.
Ubuntu client, 5.0.0.191007 and HDHomeRun, I can only run one live stream at a time.
Clients are Linux/NextPVR/Knewc and Chrome/NPVR Android Addon. I can run a live stream on either one alone, but when I try to run both, when I start the second, everything looks fine but video doesn't play. I can play one live channel and one recording, but not two live channels. Doesn't seem to matter if it's the same channel or different channels.
2019-10-08 18:59:00.182 [DEBUG][9] Started recording (11338:16:E:\Recordings2\NCIS\Season 17\NCIS.S17E03.Going.Mobile.ts)

But then at 18:59:29, it gets a database locked error when it's starting The Resident:
Code:

Since then, I'm getting lots of database is locked errors. Here's one example of the error as a recording is finishing:
I can't access the server via knewc or the web app on the server. But the recordings seem to still be running (at least files are being written to the disk). So I'm trying to let it run to get my night's recordings done.
I've manually created a zip of the logs directory while its still running.
logs.zip (Size: 1.12 MB / Downloads: 4)
P.S. all of the "2019-10-08 20:01:34.514 [DEBUG][135] Got request [192.168.143.25]: /activity" logging makes it more difficult to find things in the log file.
What is the proper way to have recordings, and associated files, save to the default folder without placing into a sub-folder? I unchecked the following three items and folders are still being created which screws up MceBuddy from commercial skip file creation. Causes a commercial skip loop where many large video files are continuously generated, i.e. abc-cs.mpg, abc-cs-cs,mpg, abc-cs-cs-cs.mpg. On latest version.
Use S01E01 file naming format if possible
Create season directory if possible
Use Movie.Name.(YEAR) format for movies if possible
I was trying to find where else Log files reside besides C:\Users\Public\NPVR. I have written a code that will send haupblast.exe after NRecord.log hasn't been modified for around 4 hrs. However, the log file takes 2 minutes to register when opening on another device. Is there a temporary location for the file?
