I am a bit confused (OK at my age thats easy ;-)) In the Config app > Misc tab there is a BDA Mux box that I can choose if I want to use SS , Cyberlink or Intervideo muxes. I think the default is SS. If I dont have the SS Mux installed what does it do? Its still on SS and I dont have the SS Mux installed and I get a picture (and the ocaisional crash :-) ) . What gives?

I've not had my PVR turned on overnight all that much as I hadn't got any quiet fans until recently.

However now I can have it on 24/7 PriorityRecording.exe throws errors every night at the same time (3a.m.).

To test that this wasn't just down to the machine I installed GBPVR on another machine and left that on for 48 hours, both nights it threw the same error.

I am at work at the moment so I don't have all the details, but from memory it is something like:

priorityRecording.exe 1>log... (something I can't quite remember)

And the error says something like 'an uncatchable error was thrown' and then it has the process & thread ID.

If I press OK the cmd prompt carries on and does something, but its too quick for me to see.

I fitted a Nova-T a couple of weeks ago and I am starting to see random crashes of the recording service. It allways says that the fualting module MpgMux.ax. This is of course the Cyberlink mux for the nova-t. It crashes when its about to start recording (scheduled). The PVR 150 and 350 cards are fine. The recording is 0KB. I have set the service to restart automagicly although this does not seem to make any difference.

Anyone seen this?

Just downloaded and installed GBPVR. Very, very cool. Of course, I have used only minor HTML tweaks to Hauppauge's base software, so this is a drastic difference.

Given that so much of the app is actually running on your PC, is there any possibility that we (somebody) could hook up with Media Player's DRM-capable WMA player or similar? In particular, I'm thinking of subscription-based services like "Napster To Go" and "Yahoo Music Unlimited."

I like my MediaMVP... I'd hate to have to toss it and my wireless adapater in lieu of D-Link's MediaLounge to play my protected subscription WMAs, but it would be a huge addition to my entertainment system.

Seeming that no one else has reported this I'm inlined to believe that this was a one time occurrence - but I'm reporting it anyway so that it doesn't get lost in my head ;-)

I was zapping around on my tv, and stumbled upon a show that we wanted to record. We wanted to do a season recording, so I started up gbpvr and went to the EPG, selected the show and did a "season record - all shows on this channel" (not the "this timeslot", if that would make any difference). All shows *except* the one that was currently on got scheduled. I would have expected the one currently running to get scheduled and a recording to be started... :-)

heres a beta version of my vids with using tv.com for the episode lookup/browse. i just want a few people to test it with television shows and see how successfully it is and if there are any bugs.

i also fixed a bug that wouldnt delete a folder (it was trying to "delete root element" instead of folder). and the bug with 'g' not appearing in the phonestyle entry for the onscreen keyboard.

ive only really tested the tv.com lookup with "lois & clark", "buffy the vampire slayer", "macgyver", "smallville" (i think thats it) all with "episode lookup" scan, and 100% success rate (which is pretty good ). my internet is pretty slow these days (i have no idea why, 256k adsl and webpages are slow as hell) and it took about 1minute for the first lookup (it needs the episode_guide.html page to build the url listings) and then every other lookup only took about 4seconds each. so its quite good.

it uses a 24 hour cache system, meaning it will save the downloaded pages in gbpvr/temp/cache and if the file was downloaded in the last 24 hours it wont connect to the internet, instead it will use the file in the cache (so handy if you are looking up several episodes of the same show).

tv.com doesnt responsed to the http request header "If-Modified-Since: blah" so i cant cache based on that (which is annoying).

if you find any bugs (relating to tv.com, nothing else, well nothing major) let me know. and please post the results, how long it took, how successful, etc.

ive been able to get all the information i could get from tvtome.com except the number of votes cast for the rating (which isnt that important).

ps this version prints out quite a bit of debugging info to the gbpvr.exe.log file (ill remove this in the final version, or add it as an option or something).

Hello, I am having trouble with my scheduled recordings. So far, I have tried three times to record a program. Each time, my recording is truncated (once after 23 minutes, the other times after about 5 minutes.)

Setup:
Card: Plextor PX-TV402U hardware decoder USB
Operating system: Windows XP Sp2
Connection: Comcast analog cable via coaxial
GB-PVR: latest, 0.9211
latest tuner drivers from Plextor
Profile: custom1, MPEG-4 DivX 640x480, 1200000 bps target bitrate

Live TV works fine. I can watch and change channels.

Now, for each of the three recordings, I schedule the recordings via the web scheduler. The recording is visible in the web scheduler. The log files (gbpvrrecordingservice.exe-native.log) seem to indicate the recording was successful and full-length (one hour long.) The "ready to record" light on the Plextor unit is on for the full hour. It turns off and on right on time. Every sign I can think of indicates everything is fine. Yet my recordings are dramatically truncated.

I'm a newbie to using my computer as a PVR. At this point I am at my wits end. How do I go about troubleshooting this issue?

My machine died so I had to rebuild. I was in a rush and never set my time zone properly BEFORE I installed GBPVR. Now that I've configured everything and set my time zone on my machine correctly all the shows are still BACK 3 hours when I was set to Pacific time. Any easy way to fix this? I'm assuming there is a ini somehwere I can chage this.

Only about 25% of my mp3 files show the album art and I can't figure out why. It's been this way for the last 3 updates I've done but other than updating, I've done nothing different. I even did a clean install to see if that would help but no luck.
Is there some setting I'm overlooking?

I was wondering if someone can give me some insight on how I can get GB-PVR to record in VCD format (352x240 MPEG1 NTSC) as I do not see any of those resolutions listed when I go into Quality Profile Settings.

Sorry for the newbie questions but I appreciate the kind help like always.

PS the reason I would like to be able to record directly to VCD format is then Nero will not have to re-encode if I decide to burn the video file.
