Can I play my audio out of my PVR350?
Posted by: hooners - 2005-06-19, 08:39 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I have a PVR350 and PVR150 combined setup and everything is running great! I was in a MythTV black hole for a long time and after FINALLY (1 month) getting it to run, my mother board went on it and I just haven't had the motivation to try it again, and then I found gbpvr and had it setup in 1 night! Fantastic work guys!!

Anyway...what I would like to do is play my audio out through my pvr350, not out of audio output from my sound card. I have a system located very far from my TV and have converted from my pvr350 output to coax and ran it to my TV. All works great, but I have no sound when I play my MP3's. Is there any way to redirect the audio sound to go out through the TV output of the pvr350?? By doing that I can utilize the TV to play the music and simply play my TV through my stereo anyway. I have already run an audio line from the output of my sound card into the signal input on my pvr350, but I don't think I'm on the right track. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Any Australians here with PayPal account?
Posted by: sub - 2005-06-19, 07:59 PM - Forum: NextPVR Announcements - Replies (4)

Is there any Australians here that could help me out?

There is a AU$59 item I'd like to buy from Australia, but the guy only accepts payment via bank deposit and only ships to Oz. I'm happy to PayPal over the funds in advance plus shipping costs, if some one could act as my local agent.

If you can help out, please PM me.

Cheers

  PVR-500 locks computer on reboot
Posted by: PEverett - 2005-06-19, 06:23 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I have an XP Pro workstation platform with very ample resources. However, I am a newb to this PVR world.

Running GB-PVR with a PVR 150 (non-MCE) I have been able to get things working fine.

I also have a PVR 500MCE.

So, taking things one step at a time, I have removed the PVR 150, run the "hardware clear" program from Hauppauge, and then installed the PVR 500MCE.

XP locates the new hardware and installs it. Device Manager shows two tuner cards, no problems. I loaded the Hauppauge non-MCE software so as to get all of the software encoders (which I think I saw as a tip here), WinTV etc.

Now, with everything loaded, I can watch both WinTV and GB-PVR -- no known problems. By reading threads here, I think I know how to setup GB-PVR for two tuners but at this early stage I just want to test watching two programs at one time to verify that both tuner cards are functioning as would be expected.

(I have not confirmed recording capabilities, yet.)

However, as soon as I reboot the computer, it locks up on the Windows reloading screen. The keyboard is dead and I have to power-down.

When I take out the card, the system reboots normally. If I then remove the drivers, and put the card back in, the system reboots.

This is completely repeatable for me and I have tried 2.0.30.23123, 2.0.30.23074 and 2.0.18.22316 drivers - all present the same result of working exactly as I would expect when first loaded, but locking up as soon as I reboot.

Any tips on what I might check out for the cause?

  Ir blasters
Posted by: mishac - 2005-06-19, 05:40 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

this is not strictly a GBPVR question, but here goes anyways:

I'm thinking about getting an IR blaster for my PC, but I'm not very knowledgeable about them. Do IR blasters usually have to be affixed directly to the IR port on the settopbox or can I just mount it somewhere else? and do they generally need a direct line-of-sight to work? the reason I'm asking is that I intend to have the IR blaster control not only the set top box, but the TV and the audio system too, and having the thing have a direct line of sight to all those components would be difficult. Any advice would be much appreciated!

  Schedule & Record Radio
Posted by: gblinckmann - 2005-06-19, 04:47 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

I think that I suggested this before, but I couldn't find it, so I thought that I'd bring it up again.

How about a way to record & schedule radio programs? I listen to both Internet Radio and FM on GB-PVR, but there's no record feature so that I can take them with me when I can't be there to listen.

Sapphire Theatrix 550 Live video freezes
Posted by: jeweladdict - 2005-06-19, 03:47 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Awesome piece of software you guys have here... esp cause the bpackaged one was utter crap :X. I did a search for this but didn't seem to find any other people having this problem. I just installed my tuner card the other night, updated to the newest theatrix drivers, and installed gbpvr. The problem is when I watch live tv, sound comes through fine, but video tends to freeze every 5 secs for half a sec...

System specs:
WinXP sp2
Athlon64 3000
bfg 6600gt
1gig ram
plenty of HDD

I've not tried recording eyt... hopefully that doesnt skip either =/

Also, I have an old ATI remote wonder, and the remote from the theatrix package, but neither seem to work with gbpvr... are there any workarounds?

  Main screen options
Posted by: garetmax - 2005-06-19, 03:01 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (17)

Would it be possible on the main screen for the default blue skin that there could be 2 columns of selections to go into the plugins? Maybe there could be an option in the config application to enable this function if desired.

I use many plugins and would like to see all of them listed instead of scrolling for the hidden ones.

I've also set up a folder for some of the more least used plugins in the config but I still don't have them all on one screen. Setting these screens up like the video archiver screen would be a nice format.

Also, what happened to the future recordings that used to show up on the bottom of the screen and would cycle? After I updated to the latest versions of the weather plugin, xrecord plugin, and video archiver plugin, only one next recording shows up and its in the upper right corner of the main menu. I liked it when I could see multiple future recordings on the bottom cycling.

Thanks

Posted by: dougt1968 - 2005-06-19, 02:16 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (11)

I have installed the my videos plugin and followed the "for dummies" guide and am able to view my recordings and rip dvd's however i don't appear to have the function to record to dvd. The guide says to simply select your recording and choose burn from the pop up menu but i don't have that menu available !
Any help much appreciated
