Real Audio ripped music at 320kbps MP3
Posted by: borgs5 - 2005-06-18, 09:48 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

These don't seem to play, when I try to play them nothing happens. 192kbps encoded tracks will play.

Is there a limit to the bitrate in GBPVR please - I'd like to use the highest possible?

Thanks

  Hauppauge Nova-t PCI 909
Posted by: jonnyknowsbest - 2005-06-18, 09:10 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I have installed GBPVR on my pc, but when i click the "Map EPG channels" button, i get a message saying "Failed to locate BDA device".

I have tried downloading some bda drivers but i don't know how or where to install them. If i try to update the Hauppauge drivers, when i click "Have Disk" and then navigate to the drivers, i get a message saying the location does not contain information about the hardware.

  0MB files are back... :(
Posted by: Trevor - 2005-06-18, 08:40 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

This evening I had another one of my 0MB MPG files. Sad

The only new piece of information is that comskip crashed before the recording stopped working.

I'm running 0.92.11 with comskip installed, with the process set on "High" priority via config.xml. I have no other plugins installed.

Add this to the "Failed" recordings I've been getting lately and I'm getting close to the "give up" stage unfortunately. Any last second ideas?

External Recorder plugin and web site
Posted by: borgs5 - 2005-06-18, 08:25 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - No Replies

Hi,

On my system I have found that if I select a normal recording source (e.g. a hauppauge card) that when I use the web interface I can schedule recordings just fine. If I use the External Recorder plugin when I click on the 'Record this episode' button, the popup is closed but the TV event does not get stored. The TV event is stored, however, if I do the same thing using the gbpvr front-end.

I guess it might have something to do with the recording service?

Could someone using (or the owner of the) external recorder plugin please verify whether it works ok from the web interface?

Thank you.

Default settings overwriting manual setting on season recordings
Posted by: linfor - 2005-06-18, 02:04 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

On the recordings I schedule where I use the option to record "All recordings" even though I manually tell it quality and padding, those settings I put in are overridden in the individual episodes that are scheduled.
That is if there are 10 episodes - they seem to take their settings info from the config and not from what I put in when I initially scheduled the program

How do I create info banner for each recording?
Posted by: linfor - 2005-06-18, 01:58 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I would like to create an info banner for each recording that would show the program name and date. I want to do this because I had som ecomputer problems and had to move some shows to a new drive and they all ended up with the same recording dates.
Is there an easy way to get the program to insert such a banner before it starts each recording.

  web camera recording
Posted by: rjaeger1 - 2005-06-18, 12:40 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (5)

I'd like to see a plugin or added functionality to GBPVR to allow recording from web cameras - not just the fun ones for instant messenger - but security cameras like this one: http://www.dlink.com/products/?sec=0&pid=342

probably impossible but worth a try.

display changes when going into timeshift mode
Posted by: Dal - 2005-06-17, 10:23 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Hi,

Can anyone help with a problem I have of losing some of the display when I switch into timeshift mode.

I am using a Sapphire Theatrix 550 Pro TV card (ATI Theatre 500) and a Gigabyte 6600 GT GFX card. 1 gig Ram. Athlon 3000+ (939) processor. 300gb Maxtor HD.

I am capturing video from my Telewest stb through a composite connection to my the Theatrix card. The picture is perfect when I am just viewing TV but as soon as I hit pause and GBPVR switches into Timeshift mode and I loose the lower section of the screen. I discovered this when I noticed some of the Telewest on Screen display was missing. Also I noticed the picture degrades and I start getting artifacts on the very lower part of the screen.

I have am using the nVidia decoder

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Dal

Weird recording when recording 2 at once on the same channel
Posted by: dazz - 2005-06-17, 08:00 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

If I record all shows on a channel, and two are back to back in the schedule and I have 2 cards, it will record one on one card, then near the end of the first show it will start recording the other show on the other card (the 2 shows overlap because I record a few minutes pre and post). Whenever this happens, the 2nd show comes out all weird, very bad quality. Any ideas how to solve this?

Something I can fix, or something I'm stuck with?
Posted by: UKGuest44 - 2005-06-17, 05:07 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (15)

Ever since I've got my MVP, the menu system is always aligned to the right of the screen, with a about a 3cm bar along the top, along the left and along the bottom.

This happens also with the OSD when playing a video or TV. However, video files and TV when played, are full screen and these bars are not present. It only happens with the OSD and menu's.

The same happens from the minute the MVP is turned on (hauppauge loading screen/contacting server) and also with the hauppauge software.

Am I to presume there is nothing I can do to fix it, and have to live with it? It's not too bad, just a bit annoying.

I've tried the MVP Screen position plugin, but when I remove or resize, it seems impossible to get anything to go into the black border around the 3 sides Sad

Any ideas? I'd apreciate any input

Thanks
