  ATI TV Wonder?
Posted by: bburd - 2005-06-18, 09:28 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (9)

Does GB-PVR work with the ATI - TV WONDER USB 2.0 Tuner Card 100-703156? View info on the card at http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?...3468042221.
Thanks.

  gbpvr goes to 100% cpu usage and hangs
Posted by: Megor - 2005-06-18, 07:14 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I am using version 0.92.8 with a hauppage 350 capture card. I had set up a few programs to record but then a few of them were skipped over this morning (They never got recorded). I was still able to play my previous recordings but the second I tried to go to live tv gbpvr went to 100% cpu and I had to close it. When I restarted it, it would say there were no available capture sources and the recording service reported it was in live tv mode and only once I restarted that service could I watch tv again etc. The log lines when it froze look like this in the recording service log:

6/18/2005 1:45:14 PM.226 VERBOSE [134] SourceConfigurationContainer.LoadAll()
6/18/2005 1:45:16 PM.279 VERBOSE [134] SourceConfigurationContainer.LoadAll()

6/18/2005 1:45:18 PM.342 VERBOSE [134] RecordingFactory.LoadNext24HourEvents()

6/18/2005 1:45:22 PM.237 VERBOSE [134] SourceConfigurationContainer.LoadAll()

The same log lines repeat until I closed the service. The gbpvr log lines at the same time are:

6/18/2005 1:44:55 PM.199 VERBOSE [2] RecordingFactory.loadSchedule()
6/18/2005 1:45:18 PM.041 VERBOSE [2] getValue() loading new key/value into cache: /settings/LivePreviewMode

6/18/2005 1:45:18 PM.091 VERBOSE [2] getValue() loading new key/value into cache: /settings/ChannelChangeWithoutEnterKey

6/18/2005 1:45:18 PM.392 VERBOSE [2] IR200TunerController.setChannel 208

Any idea what could have caused it to lock on me like that? I've been trying to get gbpvr to run reliably for a long time and I just started from scratch again (fresh windows/hauppage drivers etc with no plugins).

  White noise when watching TV
Posted by: kadi500 - 2005-06-18, 06:32 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (15)

Hello!

I'm pleased that I joined this community. I have a problem with GB-PVR I cannot solve myself.

I have to stress that I've read all the FAQ and all threads regarding troubles with ATI Theatre 550 Pro chip boards, but I couldn't find any solution

I've been using WinFast TV 2000 XP board from Leadtek. But I wanted something with hardware MPEG-2 encoder, so I purchased Sapphire Theatrix TV tuner card, hoping that there will be less problems with it.

Silly me Smile

I won't tell you how much frustration PowerCinema bundled with the card gave me. I did some test with Snapstream's Beyond TV, but I could not complete the first-time tests (could not render the stream or something similar appeared).

So I wanted to know GB-PVR software better. I programmed all channels and they appear OK on the screen, but there is no sound but the white noise on all TV channels. On FM channels there is a very good sound.

What can I do or check to make GB-PVR work with my card?

Surely something with my configuration is wrong. You can see config screens HERE.

May be - for auditing reasons - you need other data like system logs, GB-PVR logs or dxdiag log. Please tell me what do you need to know to solve this problem. I expect that most PAL-B region users encounter this problem.

My system specs:
Microsoft Windows XP Professional 5.1.2600 (WinXP Retail)
Intel Pentium 4E, 3000 MHz (3.75 x 800)
MSI 865PE Neo2-PS (MS-6728 v2.0) (5 PCI, 1 AGP, 4 DIMM, Audio)
Intel Springdale i865PE
1024 MB (DDR SDRAM)
RADEON X800 PRO (256 MB)
Creative Audigy Player Sound Card
Intel 82801EB ICH5 - AC'97 Audio Controller

  VisionTek Xtasy Theater 550 TV Tuner
Posted by: Ross - 2005-06-18, 05:35 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Anyone try the Visiontek tuners (Pro Edition and MCE Edition)? I believe its the same as the ATI TV Wonder Elite but instead, has the SnapStream / Beyond TV software instead of PowerCinima. Unfortunately, the essential Program Guide is only a 60 day trial period then you have to subscribe if you want to keep the EPG. I wonder if I would be better off installing the VisionTek Tuner with GBPVR intead of the TV Wonder Elite with GBPVR. I don't think the Elite gives you a choice of where to store your saved recordings even with GBPVR running with it. Anybody have any thoughts on this??

  Looking for TV Wonder Elite Advice
Posted by: Ross - 2005-06-18, 05:23 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Getting ready to install ATI TV Wonder Elite on Windows XP Media Center Edition (MCE). Hoping to have the best of all worlds with their Theater 550 Pro and GPPVR's software and EPG. Any advice or tips on the installation of both? Should I install the ATI card and their software (PowerCinima) first and THEN intall GBPVR second? Or the other way around? Will GBPVR replace the PowerCinima software completely once I set the appropriate settings? Will my MCE interface at all with GBPVR? Anything else I should know about?

  Recorded Video is Missing when going to edit
Posted by: RonnaP - 2005-06-18, 04:30 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

I recorded a program last night under 'Custom 1' which is set for SVCD.
I went to edit out the commercials and now its doing the same thing as before when I recorded a program from WinTv and I was it was a common problem for WinTv thats why I was suggested GB-PVR.

The video which is about 2 hours long shows to about 3+gb in length. I open it in GSpot and it says it 1 hours 30 mins long - SVCD format.

But when I go to edit it and Ive tried NanoPEG and MPEG-VCR - the whole video is NOT there, only the first few minutes and when I scroll thru it to try and edit - it just all of sudden jumps to the end. I can view the video fine.

Do anyone have ANY idea why this is happening???

Thank You soooooo much Smile

  No live tv
Posted by: logeox - 2005-06-18, 04:05 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Im having a little trouble here. I was testeing out several diffrent pvr applications. and found i could not recieve channels from my win tv pvr150 on more than one application. so i uninstalled them and load and tested them one at a time. I have had them all work with the exception of gbpvr. the program work, plugins work, but when i try to tune in a channel it locks up and says it is unable to capture source. i can use the tunning assitant and i recive channels. it has worked with win tv,sage,beyond, so i know the hardware works and the cable is fine. ifeel its some kind of software conflict, but i have had no luck finding it. i have reinstalled three time with no luck. any help out their.
