Some noob questions on GB-PVR with Theatrix
Posted by: tjgraf - 2005-06-11, 01:07 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I am using a Theatrix 550 Pro with the latest drivers from Sapphire and the latest version of GB-PVR (downloaded yesterday 06/09), and I have a couple of questions.

1. When I switch channels on Live TV there's a loud surge of white noise. Does anyone know how to stop this from occuring? I've got an Audigy 2 ZS card and installed the latest drivers as well.

2. If I view DVDs thorugh GB-PVR they don't seem as bright or crisp as when I use the standalone WinDVD player. I have InterVideo's WinDVD installed as the DVD player. I have GB-PVR setup to use WinDVD, so I'm not sure about the disconnect. The picture on Live TV is also not as bright and crisp as the TV I have. Is there a setting on GB-PVR I need to tweak or better drivers I need to install?

Thanks for your help! btw, Thanks for the great program! It beats the pants off the software that came with the card and the other stuff I tried!

  GBPVRPlugInSkeleton Skin.xml problem

Anyone know where to find the correct skin.xml file for GBPVRPlugInSkeleton?

I have tried using an existing skin but I get the following errors i the gbpvr.exe.txt. Either there is a problem with the source or there is a problem with the skin.xml?????????

Application has generated an exception that could not be handled
Posted by: rvtazdevil - 2005-06-10, 11:37 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hello,

I receive the following error everytime the recording service attempts to record a program:

Application has generated an exception that could not be handled

Process id =0x8c0 (2240), Thread id=0x928(2344).

Click OK to terminate the application.
Click CANCEL to debug the application.

Here is my setup:
Windows XP SP2, Windows Media 10, all the latest updates
Athlon XP 1500 with via chipset
Hauppauge PVR-150 using IR Blaster
AC'97 Sound
NVIDIA MX4000 video adapter
Latest version of GBPVR.

Capture Setup:
Direct recording using IR Blaster, Composite-External Tuner, Zap2it

I have attached the logs for gbpvr.exe and gbpvrrecordingservice.exe. There is an error at about 6:59pm in the gbpvr.exe.log. No errors in the gbpvrrecordingservice.exe.log. I am not sure what it refers to, but it appears to be talking about the network.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Love the program!!! Thanks in advance.

How to correct the date display?
Posted by: GoodGuys - 2005-06-10, 11:28 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hello,

I use a Hebrew date, but GBPVR renders it incorrectly.

In Hebrew, we write right-to-left, so 11-June-2005 should appear as:

2005 (something) 11

Instead, we get:

11 2005 (something)

Image attached...

Thanks,

Did anybody record BattleStar Galactica marathon today?
Posted by: Pioneer4x4 - 2005-06-10, 10:52 PM - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

I recorded the mini marathon from 9-4 today on Sci-Fi, but for some reason I missed the 8:00am show!!! It was the "The Man with Nine Lives" episode. I now have all of the original shows recorded, but that one. I have been making DVDs with 3 shows on each with all commercials cut, menu, and chapter breaks at each comercial break.

If anybody did record it, I can send them whatever else they needed, or paypal a buck or so to send me a DVD with just the .mpg on it.

  Can't get FM. Please help
Posted by: dmclone - 2005-06-10, 10:38 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I just got a 150MCE and everything seems to be set-up correctly. I did a search a found out that I needed the decoder and I ran that. When I go into the FM I get an error "No tuner was available to enable you to record the requested station". Any ideas?

  A few main-screen backgrounds.
Posted by: pwtenny - 2005-06-10, 08:36 PM - Forum: Community Announcements - No Replies

I'm not big on making entire skins, but I like making my own main screen backgrounds when I get tired of them.

The first one I made:
http://dock.nevernet.com/cgi-bin/emAlbum...img=1&tn=1

The second:
http://dock.nevernet.com/cgi-bin/emAlbum...img=3&tn=1
(note: two images featured in this one are not ones I own and frankly I have no idea where I got them from)

The third:
http://dock.nevernet.com/cgi-bin/emAlbum...img=2&tn=1

And this one I just made a couple days ago, inspired by the DirecTivo HD main screen I saw in a picture of this dudes new TV:
http://dock.nevernet.com/cgi-bin/emAlbum...img=4&tn=1

And the XML skin for the main menu that looks good to me (the bottom anyways)...

  Web Viewer Plugin
Posted by: jorm - 2005-06-10, 06:40 PM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (53)

Well there have been dreams and wishes by some including myself to be able to surf the web on my PVR. That is not going to happen at least not in the near future.

However I start off my morning with hitting several very important pages every morning.

slashdot.org
techbargains.com

etc....

I thought it would be nice to be able to view those on my tv *STATICALLY*

You will not be able to traverse any links or fill out any forms.

Second this is extremely beta.. It should not melt your machine (no promises)

But it is to see if this is useful to everyone.

Some comments.

When you first start this up you will see a list of sites. There is a bug you can only pick the first one the first time. Hit it and then hit the blue button to pull the list up again, now you can move up and down.

There is no skinning as of yet.
If you want to add a site just copy the .url out of the documents and settings favorites into gbpvr\favorites.

Eventually we will get zoom as well.

Use the FastForward/Rewind to move up and down 1 line at a time. Use skip to move 10 lines.

Post feedback.
Jorm

Screen Saver or something cool like that
Posted by: ydekmekji - 2005-06-10, 04:07 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

I listen to a lot of music through gb-pvr, and sometimes i just run a slideshow of my pics, just to keep things off the menus. What about a cool screen saver that could run and make my tv look cool when i'm listening to music
