My PC will not hibernate anymore
Posted by: Don - 2005-06-03, 12:14 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Ever since I upgraded to the latest version of GBPVR my computer will not hibernate, it never had a problem before. It always woke up to record a show and went back into hibernation after it was done. Has anything changed in the new version??

Thanks

Don

  IIS Support?
Posted by: jstraten - 2005-06-02, 09:16 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Is it possible to use IIS instead of the built-in web server? If not, will this be supported in the future?

Thanks,
Jens

  Converting DIVX to GBPVR Format
Posted by: sevanspalm - 2005-06-02, 08:08 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I can't watch divx videos on my MVP, so I want to convert them to the standard GBPVR mpg format. Could anyone provide a suggestion on a command line tool that I could use for this? If I get this to work well I plan on writting a small program that will convert the next x number of files in a directory out of DIVX format. (I store a season in DIVX then watch them all at once)

Thanks,
Steve

  Media Folder Structure, Best Practices?
Posted by: itc_sburnett - 2005-06-02, 07:28 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (3)

As a newbie, Id be very interested in others experiences in setting up directory structures for various media. Im especialy interested in video...Serperate Movies from Recorded TV? Seperate each movie into sub folders?

I'm also interested to hear comments on using NAS on a 100BT network as a storage solution rather than internal harddrives

Watch option for shows on at a later time
Posted by: Boromir - 2005-06-02, 07:27 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (4)

When selecting a show in the guide that is on later I would like to have an option of 'Watch'. In some cases I want to remember to watch a show, but don't need it recorded. Ideally this would just change the channel if you are in live tv mode, and possibly start live tv mode if you are at the menu. Using 'Record' doesn't work well because it kicks me out of live TV mode when the recording starts, then I have to get back into the right place to watch as it records.

In another thread someone asked about having Live TV switch to the program being recorded rather then kick you out to the menu, that would work just as well (perhaps better since it would be recorded if I was not there) for my needs.

I didn't find a previous thread on this, but if it is a duplicate I apologize.

Thanks!

Xrecord info and Find fast request
Posted by: Lucas_24 - 2005-06-02, 07:06 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (1)

Jorm,

Love your plugins. I was wondering, in Xrecord, when I view videos, I'm able to see a list of videos with a description and graphic next to it. 3 per page. Is this available in the ready screen as well. Real nice to be able to see the descrition of an episode without having to select it.

In FastFind, would it be possible to search programs in progress as well as ones in the future. Right now it seems to ignore anything that has already started, would be real nice to find a show that you like, but may not care if you miss a few minutes of.

Thanks,
Luc

  Self-built PVR for Sale!!!
Posted by: Atomike - 2005-06-02, 06:22 PM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

I've built a PVR, but with 3 kids, I just don't have the time to tweak and play with it like I thought I would. I've got most of the kinks works out, but it needs more tweaking. But I've got to let it go. If you've got free time, and like adjusting your PVR to find just the right skin tone color, this may be for you! I don't have the time to get the picture just right.

INCLUDES:

ABIT NF7-S v.2 Motherboard (rock solid - and lots of features like "wake from hibernate", etc.)
Passive (no fan) Northbridge heatsink installed by me.
AMD XP 3000+ processor (with stock heatsink/fan)
512 RAM
Hauppauge PVR-250 (980 model with remote) - highly recommended by PVR folks
eVGA FX5200 board for S-video out (5200 cards are very good for PVRs)
Windows XP Home Edition
Seagate 200 Gig Hard Drive (highly recommended by PVR folks)
Another 12 Gig Hard Drive - system drive
30 foot extension cable for the Hauppauge Remote "eye"
30 foot S-Video & RCA audio cable
** You can run these cables to a PC in your basement for quiet viewing
Case/mouse/keyboard

All current drivers are installed - and the quartz driver is even properly rolled-back.
Also, I'll leave GB-PVR installed as well as software that allows you to hibernate your machine at night if you like.
This machine will work great in a home-network too.

I researched each part exensively before I bought it. All are parts recommended by the PVR community.
I'll sell this for around $600 - although I'll sell it without the Seagate Hard drive for $100 less ($500 total). plus shipping and insurance.

Just e-mail me at mldalto(spam)@nppd.com
remove the (spam) when you e-mail.

Hi,
I'm getting some funny blocking whilst watching TV and in my recordings.
Whilst watching it worse and happens more than this screenshot but I can't screenshot it lol
But heres an example of the type off playback:

Any ideas how to prevent it?

And any good tips in reaching that 'perfect' quality with ffdshow?

Thanks

  trouble with AC-3
Posted by: gmorse - 2005-06-02, 05:05 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I seem to be having some trouble getting AC-3 encoded divx/xvid's to output sound to my receiver. The problem seems to be limited to avi files though, as the DD light is showing for a lot of my recorded shows. Everything that is not AC-3 is passing through fine for recorded shows and avi's.

I have AC3Filter 1.01a installed. AC-3 encoded avi's pass through PowerDVD (version 4), wmp, and media player classic to my receiver without problem. It's only when trying to watch them through GB-PVR that I run into the sound issue. I've switched between Cyberlink and the InterVideo NonCSS for the audio decoder and have selected the default directsound device for the audio renderer. Any ideas?
