Well I just downloaded GB-PVR and I have to admit its a bit overwhelming to me and I'm not finding much support. My first problem is :
Some of my music is not showing up in the Music Library - I don't know why its not formatted any different than the other music.
Also how do I config the recording settings ? For example, if I record a tv show and I want it at a higher quality than how do I do that?
Another member here suggested I get GB-PVR because I have a Hauppauge WinTV 150. I just got it less than a week ago.
I was using WinTv 2000 and finding that when I went to edit my recordings in nanoPEG everything was really screwed up ! Video out of order, ending not there etc.
Any help or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated :o
I consider myself fairly technically savvy. I even have a few pieces of paper that supposedly prove it...however...
I need a step by step guide for dummies to get Guide2j installed.
I have copied .dll's to multiple folders, reinstalled CDKScheduler, FindFast, Guide2j, etc., and it still doesn't show up in config anywhere.
What am I missing? Probably something stupid and trivial...this is a prime example of where an installer would be ideal!
I like the new gettrailers utility, but it captures everything in quicktime mov format. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a command line utility that will convert them (in batch if possible) to mpg so that i can watch them through gbpvr.

The Sigma is not here yet, but from reading the forums I realize that I will only get 256 colors for OSD. Not a big deal. My biggest concern is quality and PVR funtionality. All that being said ..
Xcard - is this the best for video out? (I am guessing here that hardware decoding wins over software ).
MCE 2005 remote - does it work correctly? I read a thread about some of the buttons not working (like guide and recorded tv) on the 2004 remote..
one last question - (and OT not really direct to GBPVR -) does anyone know if the Xcard support h.264 ?
I just purchased the WinTV-PVR500 and installed it with GBPVR last night. I could see the live TV - but when I tried to do a manual recording - I didn't get any video...great audio - but no video.
well been playing around in gbpvr alittle while learning while i go and asking a few questions thanks sub but i got another, after i go into the config screen of gbpvr and change a setting (add fm stations just an example) when im done gbpvr wants to restart itself so the changes can go into effect but i get an error this is what it says :all i do is hit quit and restart gbpvr manually and everything seems fine just was wandering about that

First of all let me tell you how much I like GBPVR! A few days ago, I installed Media Portal just to get something to compare by, and GBPVR is like 25 times more stable (maybe not as pretty, but really - who cares..)!
I am however now and then having some issues with my WinTV PVR USB2. From time to time it seems to record invalid MPEG-files..? It has happened both when trying to start a timeshift and when it's doing a scheduled recording. Rather annoying since the only episode of Gilmore Girls I couldn't find on bittorrent ended up as a 1Gb large chunk of unusable bits.. :eek: The error message I get is (if I remember correctly) "Failure playing back file".
I'm not sure how the recordings are done, but I reccon GBPVR actually has very little to do with it (more than starting/stopping etc..)?
Anyway, I just wanted to know if this is a common problem? Otherwise I'll see if I can reproduce it again and find some log files for you.
I always set the recording quality to "high", since I reencode the captured movies afterwards anyway. Therfore it would like to be able to change the default recording quality. Or, can it already be done inside the configuration file (as far as I remember config.xml)?
