  Search function a little bugged
Posted by: Junkymagi - 2005-05-17, 06:10 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (4)

Tried searching for information on my TV Wonder card and when I searched for "TV Wonder" I got the below

Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.

The following words are either very common, too long, or too short and were not included in your search : tv, wonder

  Using an Installer for plugins
Posted by: jorm - 2005-05-17, 05:47 PM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (11)

I just installed the nullsoft installer, and wrote a quick installation script for xrecord and fastfind. Easy to use.

When you use the installer for xrecord it now
1. creates the rectracker.mdb if it does not already exists.
2. creates the default priorityrecordings.xml if it does not already exists.
3. and handles the shutdown and restart of the recording service because of the fast find dll in the root directory.

If you want to try it out (at your own risk) I have done it about 6 times no problems yet.

If developers are interested I will post my script.

Jrock if you need want I can write ones for cdk scheduler and guide2j as well.

The installer itself.

  Database/videoinf missing
Posted by: hans - 2005-05-17, 04:15 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Since many weeks GBPVR works fine.

But now I cant view my videos and recordings.

I get the error message (in german):

Das Microsoft Jet-Datenbankmodul findet die Eingangstabelle oder Abfrage videoinf nicht.

In English this could be:

The Microsoft Jet-Databasemodul doesnt find the Entrytable videoinf.

XRecord / CDK not removing pending shows
Posted by: Richard - 2005-05-17, 03:01 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (1)

I was using XRecord to record all Stargate SG-1 shows on ALL channels. However, I noticed that it was recording channels that I did not want it to record on. Therefore I changed the setting to record only on a specific channel. PriorityRecordings displays that the show has been corrected as does XRecord Scheduler.

But, the Recording.txt file shows that all Stargate SG-1 shows are still being recorded. Guide2J also shows that all of the Stargate SG-1 shows are still being recorded. I have run the PostUpdateEPG.bat file. Why are the shows still being recorded even though I have told it now only to record on the one specific channel? How do I remove all of the shows from being recorded?

  Got Nova-t (909) problems..?
Posted by: fatbaldbob - 2005-05-17, 01:18 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I was having problems getting my Nova-t (909 version) working in the UK. My setup also includes a Nova-s (digital satellite) and a PVR-250 (non-radio version).

I spent days looking on this forum and reading other peoples problems, but still couldn't figure out how to get this working properly. The solution I eventually worked out was this...

Delete (and do not use!) anything from Hauppage, with the exception of the remote control software. In particular do not use Hauppage drivers - you need the BDA1040 drivers from a site mentioned elsewhere on this forum..
Contrary to what other people have found, I managed to use the current version of GBPVR.

This is how I got mine working:

  • Uninstalled ALL hauppage software, devices, and drivers
  • Uninstalled GB-PVR
  • Uninstalled all DVD software
  • Unzipped BDA_1040.zip driver software into new directory

Rebooted PC..
  • Installed BDA drivers for Nova-t & Nova-s when prompted by Windows Hardware wizard - from directory created by unzipping BDA_1040.zip download
  • Installed Power DVD 6 (have also tried v4 which works)
  • Installed latest version of GB-PVR
  • Created new recording source for Nova-t (909) and setup EPG (ONLY tick the channels you are gonna be able to tune in - leaving others ticked will cause an error matching digital channels to the EPG)
  • Downloaded EPG info for slected channels
  • Hit "Map Digital Channels to EPG Channels" - the tuning process should now start with no errors - if you get errors check you have not got channels ticked that the card cannot tune to (in the UK check the Freeview website for channel listings - remembering you may not be able to receive all of them without the correct aerial)
  • Once the tuning process is finished click in the empty box next to each channel and a dropdown box should appear allowing you to select the correct digital channel information for that channel.
  • That's it!

I apologise if the above is stating the obvious for some of you, but it took me several days to get this right :o

  Media Experience Skin Puzzler
Posted by: Beaker - 2005-05-17, 10:41 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (5)

This skin is my idea of perfection for GB-PVR. Thank you.

One little niggling problem: I have imitated your Main Menu example photo by creating a sub-menu called My Television (in which I have put TV Guide, xrecord and Live TV).

I can't figure out how to add an icon for My Television in the main menu. At the moment the same icon appears as for Exit.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Redeye remote problem with Telewest Pace box
Posted by: slayer - 2005-05-17, 10:17 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I have a problem with the redeye remote.

I tried using the redeye.exe utility in my capture sources tab to change channels on my telewest pace machine. Although it changes something, the channel normally ends up as '0' with the menu showing on-screen.

If I use the redeye2.exe command line by hand using command !!120!!!!!!!O to switch to sky one for example, it works. if I use redeye2 in the capture sources tab using !!{channel}!!!!!!!O , it does the same channel 0 (or some other random channel). Additionally, if i use the TV guide to select and watch a channel (which ends up being wrong), when I press 'Home' to get back to the main menu, the entire machine locks up.

Has anyone got this working in the UK with the Telewest Pace 4000 (I think it is)? Has anyone written a better command-line utility?

I have issued the "3~" reliability IrDA command as per instructions - no effect.

cheers,

  0kb recordings
Posted by: Clanky - 2005-05-17, 08:53 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (100)

I setup two recordings last night, the first was successful ending at 11:00 p.m on channel 4. The second started at 00:12 a.m on channel 4. I checked this morning & found I had a 0kb file.

I'm running a Nova 90002 & GBPVR 0.91.12b, XP Pro SP2

Any ideas what causes this or how I can track it down?

  PVR 500 second tuner issue
Posted by: tnkrtrn - 2005-05-17, 07:10 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this issue because I don't think the problem lies with gbpvr but with my card. When something records on the second tuner it records it in black and white and kinda fuzzy. I've tried reinstalling the drivers and rebooting the server but nothing. It still records in black and white and fuzzy. I'm wondering if anyone else has come across this issue or if you might be able to point me in the right direction to resolve this issue. I never installed any of the Haupaugee software so I'm not sure if there are any troubleshooting progs included.
