  Live-TV changes sky channel
Posted by: xsilvergs - 2005-05-17, 06:46 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I capture from my sky digibox through "Composite 2, External Tuner" using ".exe Changer Plugin".

My question regards Live-TV.

If I'm watching TV from the sky box direct to AV1 (scart from sky box) and then select AV2 (scart from PVR350) to view GB-PVR, when I select Live-TV the ".exe Changer Plugin" is run, this changes the channel on my sky box.

Is this normal and can I stop it happening?

Thanks in antisipation

  PVR 350 Output Controls
Posted by: Moat - 2005-05-17, 04:47 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

I think it would be nice to be able to control the MPEG decoder (LiveTV) overscan/size setting and the OSD size settings seperatly in the config.xml file for the PVR 350.

My picture looks awsome if I set my display size to 720x480 but the OSD is all messed up. If I adjust every overscan/size setting the best I can the picture no longer looks like it is at the correct aspect ratio. But this is with my TV, other people may experience better quality/results.

  XRecord and Guide2J - How to set range of channels to record
Posted by: Richard - 2005-05-17, 04:18 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (3)

I use Guide2J and XRecord to record shows.

Guide2J allows me to setup Guides with different channels included. However, when I use "All Channels" in the XRecord it does not limit the channels to the current Guide.

Is there a way to set a range of channels for XRecord to choose from when deciding whether to record a show? Or even better, be able to choose which guide in Guide2J to use.

If not, I would like to add this to the wish list.

  Videos split in two, what filenames do people use?
Posted by: reven - 2005-05-17, 03:39 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (9)

im adding "Stacking" to my videos (ie allows you to just play "Batman Disc 1" and once its finished, if "Batman Disc 2" is found it will play that etc), but i dont know how people name their files, im currently doing it based on the display name in my videos (the name you see, so if you look up a two part episode on tvtome most of the time is like "Pilot (1)" and "Pilot (2)"). also what type of stacking do you guys want, so far im going to try and get these working
- off (well thats easy Smile)
- simple (same movie split up , eg "Pilot (1)" "Pilot (2)")
- series ("Justice League 1x01" - "Justice League 1x23" ie plays everything with the same title, starting from the selected file not the first file, so can start from "Justice league 1x20" - "1x23").

ill do the trailers start etc later, i just want to get this going now.

  PostUpdateEPG.bat not running?
Posted by: arkennedy75 - 2005-05-17, 01:59 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (1)

After updating the EPG, PriorityRecording.exe does not run automatically. This is my PostUpdateEPG.bat:

"C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\ArchiverUtility.exe"
rectracker -purge
PriorityRecording.exe %1

  Hauppauge 500 -- Too dark
Posted by: dahveed - 2005-05-17, 01:28 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

My Hauppauge PVR 500 is a little dark. Is there a way I can lighten it up just a bit? I can still see the video and its recordings, but its darker than on my tv. Any ideas? I haven't seen a setting for adjusting the brightness/contrast/color/etc. Thanks! David

  Is there a function to get the current volume level?
Posted by: Jeff - 2005-05-17, 01:24 AM - Forum: Developers - No Replies

I see methods to increase and decrease the volume, but I don't see a way to get the current volume level. It would also be nice if there was a way to set it to an absolute level.

  Live TV stutters in server / PC client setup
Posted by: cumak - 2005-05-17, 12:26 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (25)

Hi,

I'm new to GB-PVR so please bear with me if I'm missing something obvious here. I recently attempted to configure a server / PC client setup by following Sub's instructions towards the beginning of this thread:
Streaming to other networked PCs

I know this setup isn't officially supported, but I figured I'd throw this post out there anyway to see if anyone can help. After changing the <RecordingServiceLocation> and <DatabaseConnectionString> lines in config.xml, and the basic functionality seems fine. I can access the TV listings, schedule and cancel recordings, etc. I can watch recorded shows and they play very smoothly. Live TV, however, is a different story. After 5 seconds or so waiting for timeshift mode to initialize, live TV begins to play but it stutters very badly.

CPU usage is steady at 30%-40%, and the network utilization is showing about 6%-8% (I'm on a 100Mbps LAN). Both seem well within limits. Also, Live Preview" mode is disabled on the client.

I don't understand why recorded shows play smoothly while Live TV stutters so badly. Isn't GB-PVR's video player doing the same exact thing in both cases?

I think this would be a great setup if I can fix the stutter. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

is there a way to stop the recordingservice and trayicon from starting at start up? i have a install on my development machine, which is just used to develop the plugins, i dont use gbpvr on it at all but, i have to control-alt-del and kill the recording service everytime my machine is restarted, i was wondering if there is an easy way to turn this off?

cheers.

  Crash bug - debug assertion failed, Cyberlink
Posted by: Elliot Mackenzie - 2005-05-16, 11:15 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (26)

I have encountered a crash bug for the following setup:
* GBPVR 09112b
* Twinhan DVB-T
* Cyberlink PowerDVD v4, and Cyberlink PowerDVD v6.
* Windows XP
* Via EPIA M10000
* AutoGK (Gordian Knot) latest stable.

I have setup Cyberlink as my mpeg encoder, BDA recording plugin for Twinhan, Bleb (UK) source and no channel changer. When I press "map digital channels to EPG channels" I get a sequence of errors:

1. "You will not be able ot record or timeshift live TV until you install Cyberlink... MPEG2 multiplexer"...
2. Microsoft Visual Studio C++ Debug Library, Debug assertion failed. Program config.exe, file: Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003\Vc7\atlmfc\include\atlcomcli.h, line 150. Expression p!=0.
3. ... then a string of uncaught exceptions and a crash on the way out.

Please advise.

M.
