which BDA drivers for Twinhan DVB-t card
Posted by: skywatcher2 - 2005-04-26, 12:22 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I am currently using the spectrum BDA drivers for use with GBPVR, has anyone got any experience with using the twinhan bda drivers from the twinhan site. Do they work better? or is there no difference?

  ATI Radeon
Posted by: wickwack - 2005-04-26, 06:22 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Can anyone tell me how to use GBPVR in full-screen mode on the second display (TV)? Every time I load the program it defaults to the monitor. I can't figure out where to make this change.

Thanks,
Dave

  Zap2It TV Problem?
Posted by: isgdre - 2005-04-26, 05:54 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I just installed the Weather Plug-in and tried two new skins
BootBlue2 and Digital Plus - E
Since nither Skin worked I went back to Blue.

I configured the Weather plug-in for my area. All looked ok.

Then in about 4 hours I noticed that my TV-Guide listings had disapiered for every day past today (today was still there). This caused all my records to show in the ready area as "Failed".

I was able to reload it all from the EPG Update but can anyone tell me why this happened? How do I prevent this from happening again?

Thanks

  Screen Size Settings
Posted by: isgdre - 2005-04-26, 05:48 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

It is very awkward to have to change a config.xml file to adjust some settings for the screen size of TV-Out on the WinTV-PVR-350 card (and I assume others as well).

Is there a way we can do this WYSIWYG style with the remote.

using GBPVR with ATI Theater 550 Pro for making DVDs from VHS
Posted by: aaronrus - 2005-04-26, 04:31 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

ive been looking at the sapphire theatrix as a good capture card for MPEG-2, because of its nice filtering capabilities. I have a bunch of VHS tapes and Laserdiscs that i want to transfer to DVD. I bought a full frame time base corrector to eliminate macrovision from the vhs tapes, and to stabalize the video so the MPEG-2 encoder chip can do its job easier. I have read on other forums about how completely shitty the bundled software with the theater 550 pro capture cards is, and how it doesnt give you fine control over the quality of the MPEG-2 compression nor the filters built into the card, and the way it is captured. My question is this: Will the GBPVR software allow me to make usable MPEG-2 files (.mp2 or .vob, or even .avi), so that i can use DVD authoring software to make DVDs with? also, is anyone else buying the theater 550 pro for this purpose?

  crash after waking from standby
Posted by: dusadus - 2005-04-26, 04:06 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

hey guys, getting some major issues slowly worked out with gb-pvr (i won't give up just yet). Right now i finally got my scheduled recordings to work, but now the program will crash everytime i wake up my computer from standby. The only way to get it working again is to restart the computer. Also my computer doesn't wake from standby to update the epg or record.

Any help?

GB-PVR Recording Service Terminates w/o Warning
Posted by: Spartan - 2005-04-26, 03:42 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

About 11am today I logged onto my home computer from work, opened up the config app checked a setting and hit cancel. Later on that night, much to my surprise, the recording service was not running and I missed the first half of 24 (time to find a torrent Wink)

So, is this intended behavior? Also, later on this evening, my wife was watching a prerecorded show (which means this software rocks -- if she can do it herself) and I again opened the config app, took a look at a setting, and hit cancel. This also killed the service and the MVP reset itself (wife NOT impressed with the "gadget" at this point).

Here is the log ending at 11:00AM :

Code:
4/25/2005 11:01:03 AM.296 INFO [635] GB-PVR Recording Service stopping 4/25/2005 11:01:03 AM.359 INFO [35] RecordingManager has been signalled to shutdown 4/25/2005 11:01:03 AM.359 INFO [35] RecordingManager has finished 4/25/2005 11:01:04 AM.515 INFO [635] GB-PVR Recording Service shutdown complete 4/25/2005 11:01:04 AM.531 INFO [630] Finalize called

...and the next log does not begin until 9:18PM when I manually restart the service (18 minutes into "24"). Sad

  No biggy, but odd.
Posted by: Tulex - 2005-04-26, 03:09 AM - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

If I set GB to record "Idol" tuesday, the nextrecord panel won't go past it. If it is the first scheduled recording with more after it, it just freezes on that recording. If there are others before it, it goes through them till it gets to that one, then restarts, even if there are others after it. Very odd, as I can set any combo up, and that is the one that resets it. Anyone ever had this kind of problem? Care to try it on your machine?
