  Star Wars: Revelations

New Fan film for Star Wars is out. If you can download it with BitTorrent, it'll save their hosting site some bandwith.

BitTorrent file:

Priority of Live TV and cancelled recordings don't cancel...
Posted by: simon - 2005-04-21, 01:59 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I'd appreciate any advice on a couple of minor issues I am having with recordings.

Firstly, I occasionally forget I have a recording scheduled, and so keep watching live TV. When the time comes for the recording to start, I lose live TV after the recording service grabs the DVB card. Is there any way to prevent recording starting, or at least putting up a warning message before it happens? I can understand why recordings are prioritised over TV viewing, but I would prefer the opposite to happen. Can it be done?

Secondly, to restore my live TV I have tried to cancel the recording through pending recordings. This seems to work in that the recording is removed from the pending screen, but the DVB card isn't released, so I can't watch TV. The only way I can get TV back is via a machine restart. Is this a known issue, and is there a fix?

Thanks for any help,

Simon

  Channels and channelnames don't match
Posted by: WimS - 2005-04-21, 01:29 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi to all of you out there!

I have installed the program and it works perfectly, only when I use liveTV the name of the channel is not correct. It seems to be one position of.
Example.

Channel 1 Ned 1 the program displays Ned 2
Channel 2 Ned 2 the program displays Ned 3
Etc.

I used freq2reg and freq2xml to store frequencies and channelnames.

Can someone help me with this?

  Recording Favourites
Posted by: NickElliott - 2005-04-21, 01:14 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (5)

As a current TiVo owner one of the nice features is it's ability to learn about your viewing preferences based on the programmes you record. You can also teach it using the thumbs up/thumbs down buttons on the remote when watching a programme or recording.

Using this information TiVo will look at the EPG and build a list of suggestions of programmes that might be of interest to you, it may also record some of these programmes if it has no scheduled programmes to record.

I don't believe this is an option in GB-PVR. Do you know if there are future plans to introduce such a feature?

Thanks

Nick Elliott

Playback problem (possible ATI 550/Elite problem?)
Posted by: wolve999 - 2005-04-21, 02:29 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I'm using a ATI 550

I know Sub is still working on my last problem (http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...hlight=550)

I can live with that for now.

But I discovered a new problem, on some of my recordings, playback is corrupt. I will be fine until about the end of the video (it can start as early as half way).

In WMP, it stops then keeps jumping to a good spot in video. If I try to skip ahead it will pay fine for 2 seconds then jump back to the same spot.

If I use NeroShowtime, it will play though, but the video/audio is distorted, and it will have less jumps than WMP.

The way WMP jumps it will never finish the video (always back to the same spot), but Nero’s jumps are on a smaller interval, and will eventually finish the video.

If some has a solution great, but if not I’ll just hope it gets fixed in the next release.

Thanks

  Mvp New Dongle Needed
Posted by: darrin75 - 2005-04-21, 02:14 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - No Replies

I think we need to rebuild the mvp dongle bin. The reason hopefully to support playing of a different types of media? I have read on the shspvr.com site that this can be done, so i am trying to write some new stuff myself. Anyone have any ideas.

  Xrecord/Video Archiver/My Videos Request
Posted by: KingArgyle - 2005-04-21, 01:44 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

Alright, Jeff, Jorm, or Reven, could any of you add the ability to launch an External Player when playing a Video. This option should only be available if it is running on a PC and not running on an MVP. Basically, I'd like the ability to use ZoomPlayer as my player instead of the built in GBPVR player. There are many reasons, but I personally like Zoomplayer, and my remote works well with it (I have a StreamZap remote).

Anyways, Zoom Player also has some nice features in that you can build play lists with it, so that you can say queue up an Intro, several trailers, and then the main video.

The command line options for Zoom Player can be found here:

http://www.inmatrix.com/zplayer/parameters.shtml

Ideally, it should allow for any external player to be launched, if none is configured then it defaults to the standard GBPVR player.

No audio in timeshifting but records audio fine.
Posted by: djdafreund - 2005-04-20, 11:00 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I searched and read about the audio missing until turning channel, but i'm not sure that this is the same problem or not, since when i change the channel to check if this is the same, it is no longer in time shifting mode. And i am getting audio just fine in live mode, don't need to change channels to get audio, as it's already working fine, just loose audio when going into timeshift (IE-Pausing, then rewinding, forwarding, etc.)

I've tried every audio setting, and get the same results. I get no audio as soon as i go into time shifting mode. When i record something in time shifting mode, and play back the file, i hear the audio, so it's recording it fine. Just not playing it back when in time shift mode. Live tv i get audio just fine. What could i check, or change, or do to fix this? I'm using a PVR-250, on a WinXP Home Athlon XP2600 machine with 512 PC2700 memory and an Audigy 2 ZN card, newest SHPVR site's drivers (something like that, i forgot the actual name, but #1 recommended drivers)

  FCC Broadcast Flag
Posted by: anedjf - 2005-04-20, 09:52 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (18)

Not sure where this should go, but thought I'd ask about what folks thought about the FCC Broadcast flag? This only affects users in the USA, but the FCC has a new policy to stop recording of HD content at HD levels.

Anyone have an opinion? I'm not sure if this only affects broadcast HD, or Satellite/Cable HD.

Anyone familiar with it?

Not sure on rules for posting links here, but the EFF site has some info regarding it, and a copy of the FCC ruling.
