  Anyone Heard of tvshows.org?
Posted by: Jamesjtucker - 2005-04-20, 02:14 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (4)

Hello all,
Last night i missed an episode of my favorite show "the Amazing race" And forgot to set the pvr to record it. I usually just use what i call "the bittorrent vcr" and grab it off of the net, but from the shows homepage, i found a link to tvshows.org. It is a paysite, and doesnt give a whole lot of information as to the legality (probably not, but then again, neither is allofmp3.com). Google tells me nothing about it, i cant find any reviews, etc, etc. But they are linked from a lot of well respected sites.
It also looks like they have some sort of kazaa/bittorrent/emule client thing, so they arent generating their own content.
Anyone know anything about this site?

  Dvico FusionHDTV DVB-T Plus
Posted by: tigger - 2005-04-20, 12:06 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (13)

Can anyone confirm if this card is supported ?

I have selected the Dvico DVB-T version but with no luck (Error: Object refrence not set to an instance of an object).

As far as I can see the only difference between the DVB-T & DVB-T Plus version is the socket arrangement on the back, not the processor or tuner so it should work fine, shouldn't it :confused:

  2nd media pc?
Posted by: womble - 2005-04-20, 10:41 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi,

I am looking at having another machine in another room and use the main GBPVR machine as a server.
Can GBPVR be used as the front end on the 2nd pc with out needing a TV tuner card? (I dont need any live TV capabilities)
All I want it to do is play music, DVD, recorded video.
I guess it is similar to what the MVP does only using a mini-itx instead.

  Resume/Restart window remains visible
Posted by: MaBo - 2005-04-20, 08:18 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi,
Yesterday I installed 91.12b. It works fine. The only thing is that the resume/restart window is not removed. It does go away when the OSD is off (after several seconds) but when I press the blue button to see the timebar, the window is also visible.

On the pvr350 tv-out that is.

Greetz,
MaBo

  LED status monitor
Posted by: alex060670 - 2005-04-20, 07:44 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (89)

Hi to all gbPVR users out there,

as my (very silent ;-) PC is hidden in the closet (w/o monitor, only the TV-set) I never know if it's running or what it's doing (recording, playing back, etc.).

I thought of connecting a hardware thingy to an USB-Port that lights some LEDs to show the status like my old VCR did. The hardware thingy would just be a tiny microcontroller that listens to the information presented on the USB-Port. I guess I could build it by myself.

Example:

* no LEDs = power off;
* green LED flashing = waking up from hibernation mode but gbPVR frontend not yet started (this process could last up to 60 seconds in my case);
* green LED = gbPVR frontend successfully started - ready for use;
* red LED = recording in progress;

What I would need is some program that sends the actual status to the USB-Port (ok - I could do this by myself, too: just a tiny program that checks the tasklist and the color of the recording service taskbar icon to get the information... but as gbPVR already HAS this information it certainly would be much easier let it be done directly by gbPVR itself).

Did anybody think of this too or is even able to provide me with a solution?

Greetings, Alex

  Media Center 2005 remote
Posted by: PvrCrazy - 2005-04-20, 06:09 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (5)

Hi,
I own a pvr250 tuner card and new Hauppauge 45 button remote. I am thinking of acquiring a different remote since the remote that came with it is starting to malfunction. A friend of mine has agreed to give me his remote and IR receiver that came with his media center 2005 system since he’s not really using his media center that often. I want to know if the remote and the IR receiver will work with my tuner card and be able to control GB-PVR even though I am not using MCE 2005 and doesn’t have it installed. If not, will I be able to use other versions of media center remote or different brand of remote. Thanks

System:
PIII 750mhz
256mb ram
MS XP home
PVR 250 tuner card

I just installed the GBPVR software on my pc and when I got to the update EPG after configuring capture source and EGP settings and creating a Zap2it account, I recieved an error about EPG source settings being incorrect.

I found errors in the GBPVR config file as follows:

  Error Message: No Available PVR350 was detected in the system
Posted by: gt5513e - 2005-04-20, 04:50 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (13)

I'm a newbie on this, I would appreciate any help I can get on this,

I have a PVR350 card and I followed the quickstart procedure to the letter. when I go back to run GBPVR I get the following message:

"No availabe PVR350 was detected in the system"

I have tried to update all the drivers and such without any success. In addition I have verified that the card works since I'm able to view video on WinTV2000 (Hauppage Software).

At this point I'm short of ideas. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

gt5513e
