  change RW FF key mappings
Posted by: reven - 2005-04-20, 02:59 AM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

RW and Red has the same mapping, and it does cause problems. it will cause even more problems in the future, so i think its better to change them now (a lot of plugins will need to be altered, but its better now than later). so i suggest using
{ctrl}> = fastforward
{ctr}< = rewind

{ctrl}r = red (just to key with the other colour buttons)
{ctrl}b = blue
{ctrl}y = yellow
{ctrl}g = green

sub if you dont like using <>, choose whatever you want. it would just be nice if this little problem could be addressed soon.

also a irremote.ini file for the mvp (well some kind of remote config file which allows you to map buttons, eg "Full" on the mvp is wasted ie alt-enter cant be used).

GB-PVR with on-board Sigma Hardware Decoder
Posted by: Big Dawg - 2005-04-20, 01:54 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (20)

I have installed GB-PVR to my Fujitsu-Siemens Activy, which is a Pentium III based set-top box, offered mainly to the German and UK markets. Mine was purchased in US for US use. Anyway, the motherboard features a Sigma Designs EM8400 hardware decoder built-in, sending overlay video to the built-in 2d graphic accelerator, a Cyberpro TVIA 5005. In some apps, I was able to enable software decoding using graphedit. Is this possible in GB-PVR? My cpu usage is way high (100%) without, although it runs fairly smoothly. Apparently the Sigma X-card option is incompatible, as its selection in options-->playback crash/freezes the program. I have also tried to use Sash's' Netstream2000 compatibility drivers, which is also EM8400 based (I think) but GB-PVR won't even boot if I force my Hardware to use those drivers.

  Go7007sb
Posted by: richardrobens - 2005-04-19, 11:41 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (5)

Hi,

I am a disappointed user of the Plextor ConvertX PX-M402U. I was looking for a wdm driver for this device but I found gb-pvr. I like your tool but I have no tv here... I plan to develop some plugins soon as this is a very interesting project. But my first goal is to find or create a wdm or vfw driver for my device. So noone needs to install the windvdcreator software. And I want to use the device for my webcam and in virtual dub and other software. I think a good driver would benefit many people but Plextor will not provide it I guess. At least there is a linux sdk now.
Why I write this in your forum? I am interested in your GO7007SB plugin as you seem to understand the M402U's architecture better than me at this time. I can't find the source code of your GO7007SB plugin, is it available?
Do you have any good advice that might help building a vfw or wdm driver for this (or maybe even all GO7007SB) device?
I am student and it is not a commercial product I am talking about. Not even official work - I just need a good driver or alternative to the win dvd creator as this tool crashes way too often. I want to backup old Hi8-Videos to dvd and I really like the quiality of the plextor hardware but the software is not good enough for the money.

Anyone who can help please contact me. I don't even have to see my name on the resulting tool, I just need a driver *g*

Thankx a lot,

Richard

  What does EmptyEpg actually do?
Posted by: bgowland - 2005-04-19, 11:00 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (2)

As far as I can tell, using the command-line option "-OnlyEmptyEpg" deletes all entries from the PROGRAMME table in the database unless they relate to a programme which has already been recorded or the programme is in there as a pending recording. Is it as simple as that?

I've written a utility to clean up my XMLTV EPG and was going to run it from a batch file with 'gbpvr -OnlyEmptyEpg' preceding it. It occurs to me that I could build this into the utility if all I have to do is wipe the table of relevant entries. Would that work and is it safe to do without breaking my system?

Cheers,
Brian

  Variable bitrate in direct.ini
Posted by: Tiberianchan - 2005-04-19, 09:49 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi all,
I just downloaded GB-PVR and i have to say it's a great program. Wasn't as easy to set up as 'usual' software but once i got it running it wouldn't stop Big Grin.

I'm very new at this so don't be surprised if this might be a stupid question:
Ive been trying to get GBPVR to record to a SVCD compliant mpeg file. I've got it working, though i had to edit direct.ini. Unfortunately the filesizes get too large for my liking so i'd like to record at a variable bitrate.

First can i change the recording settings somewhere else then in direct.ini (in other words have i been doing it the stupid way), and secondly how can i set GBPVR up to record at a variable bitrate.

Thanks Smile

  Best Video out to use?
Posted by: DAN0 - 2005-04-19, 08:25 PM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

Hi,
I currently have an older (4-years) ASUS G-Force 2 GTS, AGP-V7700 Deluxe video card. I will be buying a new Capture/PVR card. What is the best video output to use for my LCD projector TV. My projector has VGA in as well as S-video and Component. My Video card as VGA and S-Video out. Should I buy a Capture/PVR card with TV out as well?

PS I will be using Satalite S-video in on my new PVR card.

Thanks ???

  Feature requests
Posted by: jsouza - 2005-04-19, 08:03 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (6)

I have two feature requests:

1) Have web admin display amount of free disk space.

2) Ability to automatically delete old episodes of a reoccuring recording. I have a reoccuring program set up to record every episode of a weekday program. I would like the ability to automatically delete episodes that are more than two days old, so that I always have the latest two episodes saved, and never more than two.

  Webcam Plugin w/ password
Posted by: baf01 - 2005-04-19, 07:47 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Is there a way to pass a username/password using the webcams plugin? I am using a D-Link DCS-900 webcam with built in server. To keep the whole world from seeing this camera, a username and password are defined. However when I enter the URL in the webcams.xml file, it comes up with "error reading camera".

I have tried the format "http://username:password@192.168.0.63/Image.jpg" but this doesn't work either. I know that IE gave up on passing usernames and passwords in URLs several versions ago. But I was hoping that the webcams plugin had no such constraint. Perhaps the problem is in the DCS-900 web server and it may not be able to accept username/password in this manner.

Any clues?

  ATI Wonder Pro?
Posted by: stoss - 2005-04-19, 07:09 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I really like this program from what I can see from screenshots and reading all about it. However, I can't use it. I have an ATI Wonder Pro but it is not supported. Any plans to support this card?

Thanks,
Stoss
