  Live tv problems
Posted by: Jase - 2005-04-19, 06:50 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Why when running gbpvr to a mvp does it create files on your computer during live tv playback . This happens when i change channels, a new file for that channel is created. I am also getting crashes similar to posts in other threads when changing channels.

Many thanks Jase.

  epg not updating
Posted by: danrohlfing - 2005-04-19, 06:20 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

Just installed and configured based on the quick start guide, created a new Zap2It profile, but EPG won't update.

Any thoughts?

  Any Plans to Support TitanTV?
Posted by: landru22 - 2005-04-19, 05:13 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

Right now I use zap2it but it doesn't appear this will be forever free. I was wondering if TitanTV will/could ever be used as an epg source?

  Strange display problem
Posted by: groover km - 2005-04-19, 04:58 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (2)

Hi all -

I have two new MPEG files (not recorded with gbpvr) that when played over the MVP appear to be widescreen and only play in the top half of the 4:3 tv screen, ie, one large black bar at the bottom.

I have never seen this with .mpg files before; has anyone ever seen this, and more importantly, any idea how to correct?

Thanks in advance!

  No sound using WinPVR USB 2
Posted by: jerry2 - 2005-04-19, 03:14 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Hi there

I have tried using GB-PVR. Great program, very fast channel switching!!! But I do not have any sound with my card :-( I see no option for sound...

The only time I have sound is it I am timeshifting, seems sound is recorded with delayed playing, but I do not hear it in live preview. Why? Does this card not support LIVE preview? Picture is briliant...

Yours

Jerry

  Initial Setup

Hi all,

New to this so if you can help that would be great.

I would like to know the best way to set these 2 up as I have had these isssues so far.

I bought the HP250 and installed thier software then the GB-PVR
Had remote and live TV issues.

Then I cleard out the software and re-installed the HP 250 Drivers and IR support nothing else. Live TV works but it keeps pausing?
Also the remote works but I cannot get it to bring up the GB menu from Windows. Can I edit the IR program to do this? As for the Live TV it almost seems as though it is buffering it and then continueing if that makes sense to any of you?

  Channel not changing
Posted by: ssky - 2005-04-19, 01:27 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hello Guys, I am very new to the PVR stuff specially the GBPVR. After playing around a bit with GBPVR I managed to see the live tv. I also successfully uploaded my EPG and all that.

First my background: I have dish network satillite with a non digital feed. I am using PVR-150 with GBPVR (latest version).

My problem is that when I set a scheduled recording of a program on some other channel while the receiver was set on another one. eg. I scheduled to record Sienfield on channel "Fox" while my receiver was set on Channel "ABC". At that point I turned my tv off. After an hour I again turned my tv on. Check my Ready Recording and surely there was "Sienfield" recorded ready to be played. But when I played it I found out that the recording happened on the same channel that was set on my receiver ie channel "ABC". GBPVR didn't switch to the channel "Fox".

  Epg

Would be nice to have a better way to setup EPG.
Rather than having to do all the downloading and updating etc outside of GBPVR why not have a function in GBPVR where you select the type of feed you want to use i.e Radio times.
With the ability to select more than one.
GBPVR then downloads all the channels from the selected feeds.
You then select from the list of channels which ones you want to use with in GBPVR.
GBPVR then uses this info to update the EPG.
Also it gives you the option to assign a external tunning channel number for use with the USBUIRT and Sky for example and assign the order you want the channels to appear on the schedule with the GBPVR channel number.

This all sounds a lot but if you think about it GBPVR does some of these already but just needs them all grouped in to one place with the ability to handle the EPG feed setup within GBPVR.

You could have the channel list as it is now but with an extra 2 columns, one for the USBUIRT channel number and the other for the GBPVR channel number.
A drag and drop function to move the channels in to the order you want them to be displayed in the schedule could aslo be added.

This all might make sense or just sound like a mad man waffling on but hey its just me thinking out load.

PS As I dont know how to programme it prob could never work! lol Rolleyes

If I select a skin that doesnt have a skin for lets say the weather, does it just revert back to the blue screen for that page?

  KNC tv station DVB-S support
Posted by: MartinMediamvp - 2005-04-19, 11:44 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (7)

I had a create time last evening to get my KNC one tv station DVB-s to work.
this is what I did:

I got the bda drivers from knc ( http://www.knc1.de/download/KNC_DVB_BDA_Driver_MCE.zip ) there's no mentioning that the DVB-S is supported but they are, infact its just the philips reference drivers with probely only the driver name has changed, maybe they work with other boards based on the philips S12xx chipsset to.

added the folllowing to the bda.ini:
[KNC One TV-Station DVB-S]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-S
FILTER_TUNER=TV Station DVB-S Tuner (SU1200_K)
FILTER_CAPTURE=TV Station DVB-S MCE (SU1200_K)
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

I have an universal LNB en used the following for LOF1 etc
9750 , 11700, 10600

and of course get the channel information with xmltv.
Now I'm playing with the playback setting to get it more stable, on the pc I got the picture and sound resable but on the mediaMVP it stops after ca 5 secs (will try the new build this evening).

Sub, are you planning to support a CAM, I live in the Nederlands and all dutch channels are encoded, subscription is for free (one time buy of card (70 $) ) but you still must have :mad:
