  PVR350 TV Out problems
Posted by: garygamb - 2005-04-16, 09:55 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (5)

First....does the PVR350 support Live Preview mode if I'm using the TV-OUT functionality? If so, I don't seem to be able to get that to work. If not, then oh well.

Secondly...I'm getting a hard lock (can't move mouse, must physically turn off the computer and turn it back on) of the computer when I go to watch TV and then switch channels. Now, since I'm in timeshift mode, I don't know if this has anything to do with it. Everything works just great when i'm not using the TV-OUT mode of the 350. Here is my log. I went in and started to watch a channel. Exited out back to the main menu then went right back in and then tried to change the channel.

I've attached the log as a txt file.

  Can't read error messages
Posted by: raging monk - 2005-04-16, 08:21 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I have decided to throw GB-PVR on a dedicated machine and I'm having trouble. The machine is probably under the minimum requirements, but I am not sure if that is the problem. When I load GB-PVR software, everything seems fine until I try to setup my capture source. An error dialogue box pops up, but there is no text inside the box to read. (not even the "OK" button has text) ALso, when I try to access the drop down boxes during configuration, the text is not visible there either.

I have a Win-TV 250 that was running successfully on another machine and it it is running fine through the wintv software on this one.

What am I missing? Ideas?

PIII 866
256 MB ram

Is there a way to get a USB-UIRT to turn on a Satellite box?
Posted by: mattcham - 2005-04-16, 07:52 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I've got GB-PVR working just fine. The USB-UIRT works great for changing channels too. I'm just wondering if there's a way to train the USB-UIRT with the "Satellite Power On" signal and get it to send that before it tries to start a recording. I've had a couple of recordings lost becuase if my power goes out, the satellite box doesn't automatically power on when the power returns.

I've got my PVR PC set to always start itself up when the power returns, so that part is fine.

Any suggestions?

  No Audio on DVDs
Posted by: Danno - 2005-04-16, 06:41 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Love the new release - thanks a ton! This is really looking sharp!

I've had a problem for a while playing commercially produced DVDs. The picture is fine, but I have no audio. I've tried multiple audio decoders, but still have the problem. For DVDs which I've authored and burned from MPG4 files, audio works well...

Any config suggestions? Do I need new CODECs, if so any suggestions? Thanks!

Using V 9.12b.

  New Theater Plugin on wiki

hopefully fixes some of the parsing bugs. They made the page much more difficult to parse.

Only change is the exe so if upgrading can just copy that.

  Reclock - for syncing sound
Posted by: capone - 2005-04-16, 03:42 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

http://reclock.free.fr/

I didn't need it before, but I started getting some audio drift in some xvids. What a great little program. It just fixed the audio sync, and added some vsync as well. Small, light and delivers (for me). Does TV, too.

This is a real-time app, btw, and is working w/ ffdshow, too.

What is ReClock?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Said simply the purpose of ReClock is to definitely get rid (I hope) of jerky playback of AVI and MPEG material on a PC (or a PC connected to a TV).

ReClock is born from my own frustration. I have a fast PC, a good video card, and when I play a DVD or DIVX on my brand new Home Cinema, I get dropped frames here and there for no reason, or a completely jerky and un-watch able movie. This is very annoying.
