  Network Connect Speed of MVP
Posted by: Gunr - 2005-04-16, 01:00 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (12)

This is kinda off subject. But there are some pretty smart people on these forums that might be able to explain something to me. Or Not.

I just installed a 10/100 switch into my network. Thinking that it would allow the devices with 100mbs network hardware ( my server computer, and the MVP) to communicate at the faster speed. After switching the sever computer to 100mbs the MVP looses connection and keep searching for the server?

This also causes me to loose connection to my router and another computer both running at 10mbs.

I thouhgt the switch would allow the 100mbs devices to talk to the 10mbs devices?

Also I thought the MVP would connect through the switch to my server at 100mbs?

I know I am probably stupid and this is not how it is suppose to work or I missed something. But if anyone could educate me I would be most grateful!

Thanks a bunch,

Gunr

  Channel display
Posted by: assbeard - 2005-04-15, 10:23 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Ahoy! One thing I would like to see as a standard "feature" is when I'm changing channels in the live TV mode, for it to display what channel it's on, and when I'm entering numbers... have it stay up for like, oh... 3 seconds or so. maybe even make the delay a user changeable option.

Otherwise, I am very pleased that I finally found a free PVR program that isn't a hunk of crap.

  USB-UIRT and NTL
Posted by: m0rt - 2005-04-15, 08:24 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

HELP!!

Bought a USB-UIRT for $75(£40) much to the wife's disgust and it arrived today. Got down to trying it out tonight.
Installed the drivers fine but when I come to learning my remote codes...... nothing.

The little LED blinks when I press a button on my NTL:home remote but no response in when I'm learning the codes it just stays on "hold down '1'"

I've tried 4 other remotes and they all work fine just not the one for my STB.
After scanning thru the USB-UIRT forums the words IRda and no support keep jumping out at me.

I'm getting worried and the wife's getting more disgusted!! I'm feeling I've spent £40 on something that's not compatible with my STB.

Any advice would be great

Thanks

  PVR-350 TV-Out Menus
Posted by: scubaker - 2005-04-15, 07:35 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

I am thinking of building a PVR and I want to use a cheap old box (P2 or P3) and put as little into it as possible. My goal is to just have it hiding behind the TV, so I don't care what it looks like.
Right now I am thinking about getting the Hauppauge PVR-350, primarily because of the TV-out feature, but I have read a couple of reviews that say the on screen menus do not show up on the TV. As I am not planning to have a monitor set up to this box, this is a problem. The review I read also said that the problem was being worked on.
Does anyone know if this issue has been resolved yet, or if there are any other fixes available?

  Webcam plugin v.0.7.0
Posted by: softly - 2005-04-15, 06:47 PM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (29)

This my first released of the Webcam plugin. It shows webcams from around the world on MVP. The plugin comes preloaded with a short number of webcams. You can directly edit webcams.xml in the plugin directory to add more webcams.

A small update...
v.0.7.1 Added support for animated gifs

  A Slight Problem?
Posted by: huemax - 2005-04-15, 06:19 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Firstly let me congratulate you sub on a great piece fo software.
I noticed that when I was scrolling down the TV guide, if I changed direction & started to scroll up, the channel icons freeze but the summary info continues to move.
Is this a known bug or is it a problem specific to my set up.
