I have just installed a Nova-t 9002 and can not find any channels when scanning. I installed the latest drivers from Hauppauge (hcw-13nova-t).
I find the channels without problem from the Win2000 application but not from the GBPVR (It also works with MediaPortal, but I like GBPVR a lot more and would like to use it).
I have checked that the frequencys are the same in the gbpr ini file as found when scanning in Win2000.
I have also noticed if I select System default as Video decoder I get the error message "GBPVR was unable to start the BDA devices ...." If i select the other choice - InterVideo it starts to scan but finds no channels.
I guess it has something to do with decoders or multiplexers but I can not understand what to do. Please anything to point me in the right direction.
Yesterday evening I updated GBPVR to the latest version and now I'm having no end of problems. I'm not sure if it's directly caused by the update for certain, but I'd apreciate any help.
Problem 1: GBPVR in Live TV mode is so jerky it is impossible to watch. No settings have changed (as far as I am aware) since before the update when this was fine and worked well. Sometimes entering Live TV causes GBPVR to freeze and needs to be terminated. Sometimes it takes about 2 minutes before anything appears. And when it does appear, it's completely jerky and unwatchable, and the sound cuts out after a few seconds.
Problem 2: GBPVR recordings (in the background) seem to be broken. I set 2 things to record today. The first recorded fine. The second record about a 1/3, then it just cut out.
I'd apreciate any help on this. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. I've tried going back to the defaut skin just in case that would make a difference. I've trired removing and readding the capture card. WinTV works fine which would tend to suggest it's not a problem with the PVR. Also, GBPVR works fine in any other section (Videos, music etc.)
My setup is the following (just in case it helps):
Windows XP Professional
1GB RAM
WinTV PVR-USB2
USB-UIRT as a channel changer
100gb free hard drive space
2.8ghz processor
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
I have got a Hauppauge PVR-350 running GB-PVR 0.91.12b, when I set the play back device to PVR-350 Live TV is displayed fine (from EPG or LiveTV), but when I use either the back or menu button on the Hauppauge remote GB-PVR hangs, with a message on the PC monitor about an unhandled exception :-
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

Any Ideas? When using the software MPEG playback this doesn't happen.
I am running XP Pro SP2 with all updates applied, and all the latest drivers
i have 5.1 sound hooked up (using analog output, not spdif.. er whatever its called) but whenever i play a dvd in gbpvr i only get stereo sound, and if i play it in powerdvd i get 5.1 (but for 2.25:1 movies i like to zoom in, so i want the aspect ratio option gbpvr has now). i read over at mediaportal forum that you need to change some registry settings or something, problem is that was for spdif output, ive been searching google but havent had any success, i was wondering if anyone knew how to get it to work.
Ive updated Shut Down to improve its skinning, as request by Dubya, no textstyles are hardcoded, and pretty much everything is a composite image (well everything is, there are no more special elements). Ive also uploaded the source for the plugin. you can find it at the wiki.
Hey all; I tried some searches but didnât find much.
Sub just got the ATI 550 working (woot), but now Iâm trying to configure the capture settings.
I setup a âcustom1â with 320x240 resolution and set the bitrate to the lowest possible (1500). But Iâm still getting huge file sizes. (about 47MB for every minute, So that about 1.4GB for a ½ hour)
Iâm would really like a much smaller size like maybe 300MB.
The 550 has hardware MPG2 encoding.
Also the 320x240 seems much bigger than it should; when running in WMP at 100% it takes up almost ½ the screen. And my resolution is 1152x864
I recently purchased a PVR 150 MCE with a built in FM Radio I thought that gb-pvr would support this but fm radio is set up for only pvr 350. Well anyway even though I'm probably the few here asking for this I really would like to get the radio working.
Sub,
This isn't necessarily a problem as much as it is an annoyance but it seems (on my machine, at least) that you still have to delete all files but the 2 specified in another post (I don't remember what they were) in the web\bin folder whenever you install a newer version of GB-PVR. Just thought I'd let you know.
