I have been running the MVP (UK) for a couple of months now with no major problems. From the start I have been using GBPVR/MyMusic etc in preference to the Hauppauge s/w.
Yesterday I made a few changes to accomodate pulling data of more than one server, basically by setting up an a/c on other machines. To start with no problems, managed to get music & video across 2 servers.
After playing with videos from the new server the MVP started to lose control as if it could not keep up and then would reboot back (bypassing the main screen) to the Video list. I then thought I would reset the MVP by unplugging power. (A mistake!) since then I have not been able to get the MVP working again. Forget GBPVR for the moment I can't get basic Hauppauge working I just get the intro screen with the 5 bars. No luck after a few hours last night. I left everything off overnight LAN router wireless bridge etc and it came on briefly this morning and then BAM same again. I have now been at it all day with no success.
I have tried reloading software/reconnecting LAN in variuous ways/turning off Firewalls etc and all the usual suspects but can not make it work.
I have had a similar problem occasionally to a much lesser extent where it refuses to boot but a couple of unplug/replugs has sorted it. NOT this time!
I haven't looked into the skin jungle at all, I've learned to not mess with UI untill backend is up. And as a fact, the backend just never really is perfect in this hobby.
I wonder therfor if it's possible to get such a good looking main screen as mythTV has? If it's possible, has anyone done it?
GB-PVR is great! I'm using it with my new ConvertX TV402U. Here are my questions:
1. In the TV Guide, how do I view the listings for a single channel? In other words, I want to click on the channel and see one page with the entire list of shows for that day (and scroll to subsequent days). Can this be done?
2. How do I lock the screen aspect ratio? If I change the shape of the GBPVR window, the contents are squeezed or stretched. Can the aspect ratio be locked somewhere in the config? The only thing I see that comes close is under DVD playback, where I have this set to 16:9 and it does not retain that format in any other window (TV Guide, playback, etc.)
3. Is there a way to apply filters such as sharpening to my recordings, either during recording or during playback? I've searched the forums and it seems that some video cards allow this to be done (mine does not), but I'd like to do it within the software.
4. During playback, how do I jump ahead to a particular spot? I can work the fast-forward control, but I'd like to be able to use a slider-like control to zoom way ahead. There is what appears to be a slider in the playback window when I move the mouse, but it has no functionality (I guess the little pointer tells me where I am in the recording - I'd like to be able to drag this pointer to a new position.)
5. Finally, when I watch Live TV it is very jumpy, almost like watching a slideshow of stills. The audio is okay, and recordings do not have this problem. I've played with the de-interlace settings to no avail. If I turn off Live TV Preview then it looks good, but I don't want to record everything I watch ("Timeshift Mode.")
I'm a SAP programmer who also dabbles in C# (mostly ASP.NET).
I've gone through the introduction tutorial for developing add-ins. Can't seem to find any 'source code' examples
I would like to start developing an add-in but need to see an realistic example of how this is done. The forum refers to the 'comic' example. But this add-in is compiled and does not show/include the source code.
Can anyone point me in the right direction ?
I was hoping that GB-PVR would support the Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-USB - not the newer -USB2... But I just tried installing GB-PVR on my desktop, and the tuning assistant complains about being unable to find the crossbar filter. Any chance the -USB and -USB2 models are close enough that GB-PVR could also work on it?
I'd be happy to help collect info on the -USB, if it would help...
* New feature: Drive space screen now shows an estimate for how much space will be needed to store pending recordings (assuming variable bit rate encoding). The Disk Space Dialog skin.xml skin file has been updated as part of this. (see picture below)
* New feature: Toggle to video preview mode can now be either with the unnamed button on the old Hauppauge remote (Control O on the key board) or the stop button (control S on the keyboard)
* New feature: Option to not show DVD2MPEG on MVP. The default is to show the DVD2MPEG button on the MVP. To hide it, check the check box on the DVD to MPEG Settings tab of the plug-in settings.
* New feature: If you are using ZAP2IT for your listings (or some other source that provides a UniqueID for programs), you can specify if you would like to Video Archive plug-in to clear your pending recordings list of shows that you have previously recorded or duplicates in the pending list itself. The default is to not do this. To enable this behavior, check the check box on the Basic tab of the plug-in settings.
* Modification: Changed panel skin to remove the surrounding box; it is now just text on the skin background. (see picture below)
* Bug fix: Now properly handles cases where the GBPVR recording directory is a drive root (e.g. H:\)
* Bug fix: The plug-in will no longer fail if it encounters a corrupted or invalid graphic image file (e.g. movie posters, folder images)
* Bug fix: Now displays a name for manual recordings in the file list (name used to be displayed as blank)
Hi all, when playing back a recording the audio and video are not in sync, but as soon as I fastforward or scan ahead the audio/video get back in sync. Any ideas of what could be doing this?
Because of the size of the text, amount of text, and such, i'm trying to enlarge the box, and get the full review onscreen. (see #2 below).
I think the limitation is in where the image is placed (see #1 below).
If so, how can I move it over to the far right, 5 pix from the edge?
I'm a new user who is having an issue with the web interface.
As a test, on a local machine (XP SP2) I'm trying http://localhost:7647/
and getting the error:
Server Error in '/gbpvr' Application.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
HTTP Error 404 - Not Found.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Version Information: Cassini Web Server 1.0.1918.14593
I have opened TCP port 7647 in Winodows firewall with no success, and have disabled the firewall and have the same result.
I originally had 9105 installed and installed 9109 overtop. I didn't try the web functionality in 9105, so I can't comment on whether it worked then. I've since done a complete uninstall and removed the gbpvr directory and done a complete reinstall of 9109. Same result.
This is a pretty straight forward machine running with a Hauppage MCE 150. I've checked the forums and can't find anything that would point to this problem. I'd like to get this fixed before I install a Hauppauge Media MVP.
I am attempting to run MediaMVP using a Plextor TV402u USB2 capture card. Everything seems to work right, at least the LiveTV and Recording,on my PC monitor but on my TV all I can get is the "go" menu when I power on the MediaMVP. Does GBPVR support tis application?
