  Recstatus.exe problems.
Posted by: Darx-starz - 2005-04-02, 10:03 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I am trying to write a script to hibernate my PVR after a recording. If I setup a test recording in the next 10 mins and run recstatus.exe I get this error:

C:\scripts>RecStatus.exe time=30
couldn't do select * from PROGRAMME where oid= because -3100[Microsoft][ODBC Mic
rosoft Access Driver] Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression 'oid='
.10

I get the same error if I supply the path to gbpvr (I am using the default location) and if I run it without a show scheduled it produces a sane output.

Any ideas?

  ChannelIconDownload stopped Guide2J from displaying shows?
Posted by: Richard - 2005-04-02, 05:41 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (13)

Guide2J only shows shows up until Saturday 2005/04/02 at 2100.

Orginally I thought the information was not downloading correctly from Zap2it. However, I believe that it is running correctly. In the Edit Recording Source the EPG Source is set to Zap2it and all the channels I want are there and those I want enabled are checked. If I click update, the CPU significantly jumps and I receive all of the proper messages
- Requesting listing information from Zap2it.com;
- Procesing Zap2it listings
- Saving new listing and channel information.
It then finishes without any errors.

I must have messed up one of the files that Guide2J requires to display the channels when I was playing with the ChannelIconDownload. I ran the ChannelIconDownload a couple of days and downloaded the logos for ca. It created a folder named AllChannelArt. Although the Wiki instructions state it should have created a folder named allchannelimage.

After that when I first started GP-PVR it started with an installing window. I assumed that it created the stations.xml file. However, that did not happen as it was the original file which had the Channels region = South Floria United States...Therefore I assume that I need to do something to have ChannelIconDownload create the stations.xml for ca...How do I do that?

The program did create a channels.xml with all of my channels and pointed to the AllChannelArt directory for the icons that it could match up to my listings. Per the Wiki instructions I thought that the ChannelIconDownload would copy the icons to the channelimage directory. What do I need to do to correct this.

Most important, how do I get the shows to display in Guide2J past Saturday?

Thank you

Richard

  GB-PVR worked but my file is too big
Posted by: ibdman - 2005-04-02, 02:31 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

For quality purposes I changed the capture settings in CUSTOM1 to VBR = 8000kbps but now my 1hr & 30 min MPEG file is 6GB and Ulead VideoStudio says the file is too big and it can't burn my 1hr & 30 min program on a 2 hr DVD-R. Can someone explain why the file size takes precedence over the running time. I'm obviously new to all this and can only relate it to burning audio CDs where it does not matter what size the MP3 files are, the audio running time is all that matters whether or not the data will fit on a disc.

  webserver dead.
Posted by: pwtenny - 2005-04-02, 02:29 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Ever since I upgraded to the 91.8 maintenence release, this happens.

4/1/2005 9:20:39 PM.421 ERROR [4] Error starting webserver: Could not load type b0 from assembly GBPVRRecordingService, Version=1.0.1858.33969, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null.

Restarting the recording service doesn't fix it. Rebooting doesn't fix it. A reinstall of the .8 release doesn't fix it.

Any ideas?

Also, although I won't go in any depth, deleting recordings still causes object reference errors, it has for every version I've used. If there are three programs in a group, it's impossible to delete the last one, it's impossible to even highlight it without leaving that group. Trying to select it (and hitting ok) causes errors.

As an aside, would it be possible for a release of the C++ DirectShow code? I'd love to be able to use it.

  My Music v2.1 (Skin Updated)
Posted by: reven - 2005-04-02, 12:48 AM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (10)

My Muisc 2.1.0.0

Ive updated the skin for my music, it now includes the new UltraID3Lib.dll (hopefully will work with more mp3 tags now) and fixed a few other bugs. if the skin you are using doesnt support this update (and chances are it doesnt) but if the skin supports either my videos 3.1, my pictures 2.1 you can just copy the
<--Selectors-->
<--List-->
....
<--Details-->
...

Section (ie copy the composite images for the list,icons, big icons, and details views from one of those skins to the skin.xml file for my music (its just a matter of copying and pasting... really really easy, the skin you are using should already have the composite images, but they will look something like
<CompositeImage name="ListFocus" size="20,20">
<DrawImage .../>
</CompositeImage>
and inorder to get it to work the composite images requires tags like
<DrawText text="@Name".../>
<DrawText text="@Description".../>
so just delete the old composite images and replace it with the new ones (yeah i suck at explaining stuff, if you need help just ask)..

  Volume Levels
Posted by: iface - 2005-04-02, 12:22 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

It would be useful to be able to set the audio levels of the tuner and line in seperately, also to dissable the AGC (automatic gain) in the config settings.

I am using a pvr-150 and the line in is alot louder than the tuner, turning the volume down on my cable box does not help as the AGC brings it back up. There is a Hauppauge tweek tool that does this (and other things) but this only works in the wintv2000.

  External channel changer broken ?
Posted by: rheslip - 2005-04-01, 11:50 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (18)

I recently upgraded to .9107 and I can see a lot of improvements. I think something may have broken my channel changer tho.

I wrote a jscript program to change channels using WinLIRC via the external .exe method provided (the script is documented in the HW forum). This worked perfectly in .2313 and .9010. In .9107 it will change channels correctly if I use "watch" from the TV guide, but it never changes channels before a recording. I can see the GBPVR recording icon light up but the WinLIRC icon never flashes to indicate IR blaster activity.

It also used to change channels from live TV correctly by entering the channel number and the enter key. In .9107 because it tries to change the channel but the sat RX doesn't read the IR signal correctly because the timing is off. Thats merely annoying. Not being able to record the right channel is a show stopper !

I tried a deinstall, deleted everything in the gbpvr directory and did a dead stock reinstall - same symptom. No errors in the logs either.

Any ideas, or do I have to go back to an older version ?

  Audio Synch - seconds away when viewing AVI files
Posted by: joche - 2005-04-01, 07:34 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (16)

I finally got the AVI support working. Unfortunately "something" makes the sound drift seconds away from the picture.

What can I improve and/or change to avoid this?

btw, the server PC is an AMD 64 3200+, well suited for the task.

  network configuration
Posted by: skywatcher2 - 2005-04-01, 07:28 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I must admit to being a bit baffled by the network arrangements on my setup.
I have a full sized pc linked by a wireless usb adaptor to another laptop on a wireless connection which is internet sharing with the main pc. Further I have a usb cable modem and the MVP on a ethernet network port.
Thats 3 network connections. Now i have at the moment set up via network setup wizard so that main pc has internet connection sharing through the network connection to the cable modem and the other 2 newtork connections the wireless adaptor and the MVP are linked to that and bridged. Is this the correct way this should be set up .
I believe both these connections have a set ip set as 192.168.0.1?! at least thats what the tcp/ip properties on the network bridge are saying. Can anyone clarify this to me please.

BTW think GBPPVR is an amazing bit of software, i am having problems with the server crashing alot and live tv problems, is it posible this is due to the network settings?
