  rewind recording
Posted by: lif - 2005-03-17, 11:20 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Was in v0.90 and still in 0.91, if I watch recording and press << button, it doesn't start to rewind, but keeps on playing but without sound. Skip backwards works ok, but not rew.

  v0.91 - great job!
Posted by: lif - 2005-03-17, 11:16 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Before posting issues with new version, I'd like to thank sub for such a good job! There isn't a lot of time passed since last one and still sub found his time to release the new one! Nice! Great! There has been fixed lot of issues I had with 0.90. With this fix I have teletext working with all the Livt TV channels and no channel freezes any more! Also aspect ratio change is nice feature! (should find the button on remote for that) and DVD player doesn't have any more some kind of multicolor stripes. Once more, great job, sub!

No sound on one channel ?!
Posted by: longhorn1687 - 2005-03-17, 08:38 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I noticed the other day that anything I record on my local Fox channel has no sound. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong here?

All the other channels record fine it just seems to be this one channel. This started in v0.90 so I upgraded to v0.91 but it didn't seem to help.

Thanks in advance,
Robin

  Timeshifting problem and other inquiries
Posted by: PvrCrazy - 2005-03-17, 08:22 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Hi, first off, I just want to say that GB-PVR has probably one of the best support service out there. Great job guys. Thanks for bringing us this amazing pvr software.

I've been using GB-PVR for 3 weeks now and it's working great(ver. 9.10, when is the new version coming out?) The only problem I have is the Timeshift or the pause mode. Whenever I press the pause button(enters timeshift mode), problems start occuring. Most of the times, liveTV would start stuttering and then freeze everything(computer). This also happens when I change channel after it enters timeshift mode. So basically, the pause/timeshift feature = freeze for me. I'm not sure if it has something to do with my video card(an old integrated video card), but I would like to confirm my assumption. I'm hoping that there is something that could be fix(via software) rather than upgrading my hardware(can't really afford anything right now)

The second inquiry that I have is the record button in my remote(hauppauge new 45 button silver remote). The config in the irremote.ini is:
REC={ctrl}K

but it doesn't work. It would be nice to record any show while watching it(at any point) just by pressing the record button. The only way I can record show/(s) is/are by going back to the tvguide and record it there by using the left hand options or using manual record.

My last inquiry is the aspect ratio during playback or recordings. Is there a way to change it, probably to 4:3 or to something else rather than filling the whole screen in fullscreen mode.

I hope you can help me with my problem and inquiries. Thanks

System:
PIII-750, 256 ram, pvr250 tuner card w/ new remote, integrated video card.

Video motion "jumpy" after skipping forward
Posted by: beaverm - 2005-03-17, 08:04 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

when I skip forward, either with the commercial skip, or the skip forward option video is not as smooth as before, I'm 95% sure it's not a performance issue (machine specs will be below). I'm out of ideas though, I'm recording at low, medium and high qualities and it does the same thing. anyone have any thoughts.

Machine:

AMD 3200+
1024 Megs of DDR (running dual channel) Low latency ram
500 Gigs of storage (2 250 gig drives in a software raid array, both ATA133 7200RPM 16Meg cache)
80gig System drive, ATA100 7200RPM 8Meg cache
PVR 250
Creative Laps sound
ATI Radeon 9600SE 128Meg -- using *only* svideo out

I've got but havent tried an Nvidia Ti4600 (would like not to given that it's got a fan)

anyone have any ideas?

Best PVR only vid card <$100
Posted by: capone - 2005-03-17, 06:41 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (8)

Question gets ask a lot, but I'm looking for a card that is just going to to GB, and nothing 3D.

I had the 5200, but I hated that you couldn't fit w/o stretching. I had a 9200, but the coloring seems restrictive, and I get an audio sync problem w/ recording now.

I can still go w/ either, if there a is manufacturer that really shines. I'm just trying to find a pvr-only solution.

Total Computer Lockup on Live TV
Posted by: pinarphan - 2005-03-17, 04:44 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

I am running an Asus Pundit with 2.6 Celeron, 200gig seagate, 500 ddr and a Haup.350

I can watch and record tv on the Win tv 2000 software that comes with the haup. but when I try to watch tv on the GB software the whole computer locks up within about 1 second of starting. The configuration seems to run fine and I can surf the menu. Lock up only starts when I try to watch.

I tried Beyond TV and it causes the lockup immediately upon starting the software during the splash screen.

I am not using the tvout on the Haup. I am using the onboard video out and the Haup as a tuner only.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Screen saver while in music playing modes
Posted by: reefboy - 2005-03-17, 03:40 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (6)

I love GBPVR. When guests are over I keep it on while playing music. However I am concerned that I am going to get severe burnin on my TV. I would love a feature that would just display the last xx seconds of a song and the 1st xx seconds of a song to display album art, album name, song name, etc. I think this would be useful for any music mode or even on the front menu if it has been there for a predefined period of time with no activity.
Actually I would be all in favor of it in any mode other than while you are playing a video.

Also, maybe the main portion for the music could have a random float function so that it is not in the same place each time. The actual area of screen that is currently used is relatively small compared to the size of the screen.

As far as I'm concerned GBPVR is top notch professional quality. I believe adding this feature would definitely go along with the professional, ready for prime time feel.

Congrats to Sub for a great job. Everyone that comes over and gets my demo of GBPVR are all quite amazed! I have had at least one convert so far and another on the way.

  Overlay TV Guide
Posted by: fifftyfivec - 2005-03-17, 03:37 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Hi, just a quick question/query, does the overlay tv guide work with the 34 button remote (using the go button) in Direct access mode, its not working for me, however if I use IR.exe and uncheck Direct access it works fine.

Thank you Sub for a great PVR program.
