I am new to GB-PVR and loving it. I just got my web page link figured out through my wireless router and it's great too.

If any of these things are already here and I'm missing it - please excuse me and let me know.

1. I'd like to see a list of programs that have already been recorded, with file size and program info.

2. It would also be great to be able to download it. A little redundant because you'd probably only do it from a networked computer - but I would use it instead of Network Neighborhood.

3. Be able to rename the filename - via the web without messing up that show on GB-PVR

4. Sorting by different fields.

5. A favorite list for online and ability to switch between all and favorite view.

Absolutely love the GBPRVR - fantastic project.

I'm in the process of trying to build a PVR solution using a single PC with a nova T card and a couple of MVPs to distribute around the house. I've managed to get quite a long way, but after a lot of fiddling around I've come unstuck on actually getting stability during timeshift tv or during recordings.

Here's the background:

1. System is:
- AMD64 3000+ with 512mb RAM and SATA HDD
- Nova T card

2. Latest version of GBPVR available on this website; Latest non-beta release of hauppauge MVP software; latest non-beta release of Hauppauge Nova T drivers and win2k software.

3. With this set up everything worked except live TV on the MVP (but it did work on the PC) and any timeshift/recordings (it would produce zero byte file size recordings).

4. I then registered the nov26 2004 versions of PDmpgmux.ax and mpgmux.ax. This then got live TV working on the MVP, but changing channel on either the MVP or the PC resulted in the screen freezing on the first channel (although the overlay would correctly show the channel I was changing to). Recovering from the screen freeze simply involved pressing escape to go back to the main menu and re-entering liveTV

5. I then made two changes: I uninstalled the Intervideo CSS mpg filter for Hauppauge, and changed the config in GBPVR to use overlay manager instead of VMR. This seemed to solve the problem of channel changing (although the overlay no longer comes up on channel change & only ever appears when 'watch' is selected from the EPG). I don't know which of the two changes that I made solved the channel change problem (but will experiment tonight)

6. So far so good. The last two remaining problems I have is timeshift and recording. In both cases the system occasionally starts recording to disc OK, with CPU usage running at between 5% and 20% but invariably after a couple of minutes the CPU usage suddenly shoots up to 100% and the system effectively locks up and becomes non responsive (I have to keep the task manager open and stab away at the ending the GBPVRrecording service process and wait a few minutes until the CPU gets around to processing the end process request!. The file that gets recorded appears to be fine, at least until the system locks. At other times the system shoots to 100% usage straight away on hitting pause/record and doesn't record anything to disc.

7. I'm not sure where to go next in trying to solve this problem. The other problem - much less severe, but may be related is that the system is generally not enourmously stable when watching live TV, particularly through the MVP - it works, but after watching for a bit, or channel changing a lot, it will eventually hang and disconnect from the server.

Any help at all on where to go next would be enourmously appreciated. I will try and extract the log files tonight if I can reproduce a situation where the recording starts ok, but then after a while locks up the pc.

I have a donation on the way if I can get this cracked! Actually it's such a brilliant project, there's a donation on the way anyway....

One quick question - is it likely to make any difference at all if I install an MPEG hardware decoder/encoder? I don't have one, but could beg borrow or steal one if it makes a difference.

There has been discussions of writing something like a bittorrent client for gbpvr so users can share shows with other users. We also need to consider what it means to get a show in PAL if we have NTSC?

I wanted to open up a topic so we can discuss this.

Bittorrent is good, but I do not know how good it is for security. I do not want us posting torrent files to each other. That is too dangerous.

That got me thinking about waste. Waste is a private file sharing program. You create a waste ring of your trusted friends and it supports heavy encryption.

WASTE is a mesh-based workgroup tool that allows for encrypted, private communication between distant parties on the internet, independant of local network organization.

I am trialling GB-PVR v0.90.10 and have a Hauppauge Nova-T (chip:19300216).

I also have a Jetway DVB-T with CONEXANT chipset.

I can't get either of these to work. I've tried both Nova-T BDA recoring plugins and Conexant BlackBird Direct Recording Plugin.

Are either of these supported and if not then what DVB-T cards are (I don't want to buy analog as these shall become obsolete in the UK during 2007)?

I'd like to see basic VCD recording possible in GB-PVR. This is what I use with the horrible bundled software that came with my Hauppague PVR-250, since it ensure maximum compatibility with ancient DVD players.

How hard would this be to add?

Hi, I'm a newbie to this pvr technology and just starting to catch up with the rest of the world. I'm using the new gb-pvr ver.09010 and pvr250(with new remote - silver). This pvr software is great. It's really fun to use it. I just some question to ask hopefully someone could provide some answers.

1. I tried changing/switching channel by pressing the number keys but it didn't work. Is there something I need to change(config?) or GB-PVR simply doesn't support it. It seems like the only way I can switch to any channel I want is by using the tvguide while watching livetv.

2. Some of the buttons in my IR remote doesn't work(mute,go,power,videos,music,pictures,prev. channel,etc.) Can someone help me configure the irremote.ini file. It would be nice to have these buttons working.

3. Is there a way to launch programs/apps or control my pc without using GB-PVR and just map it in the irremote.ini? (e.g launch a video/audio player, open music folder, shutdown windows, etc.) Kind of like the MS Media center. Can I map such configuration in irremote.ini?

I have been working with Xrecord through Scheduler and it is awesome - kudos to the programmers.

Two questions -

1. I would like to be able to set this up to record all instances of Carnivale on HBO. Problem is that I do not want it to record the ones on HBO Latin. My problem is that I cannot remove that channel from the lineup. I have tried through config, throgh the ZAP2it site, and nothing will remove it. How can I remove a channel as eligible, or, tell Xrecord to record all instances, except a certain channel (meaning, record by exclusion rather than inclusion).

2. How can I stop Xrecord from scheduling duplicate recordings. For instance, if Carnivale is aired 4 times a week with the same episode, Xrecord picks up all four. Is this what "duplicates-keep" is for? If I decide not to keep duplicates, will Xrecord know to keep going through the airings of Carnivale until it finds an open spot of time when I am not recording something?

Any help would be appreciated.
