How to play the next MP3
Posted by: dmelgar - 2005-03-10, 04:02 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (10)

I just bought a MediaMVP.

Most natural thing I do with any music source, like a CD, is to pick a track that I like to listen to. I expect when that track is done playing that it will play the next track. Thats the way everything has always worked.

I can't for the life of me figure out how to get MediaMVP to keep playing the next song once I've picked one. Am I missing something really basic? Seems like the only way I can do it is to manually select the next song after the 1st song is done.

I tried the Jukebox plugin to see if it would help. It spends a long time scanning my harddrive for MP3s and then seems to hang. Any suggestions here would be appreciated as well.

  Livetv crashes on changing channel
Posted by: gizzymo - 2005-03-10, 10:30 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Hi all!

Thanks for taking the time to read this first off!

First my spec:

P4 3.0 HT
2GB DDR 400
300 GIG SATA
200 GIG IDE
Intel MB
Ati 9800xt (made by connect 3d)
Sound blaster Live 5.1 PCI (the origional sb live 5.1 card)
DVDRW -samsung
Haupauge PVR-350 Card in second PCI slot (as stated in manual)

I have the latest drivers for video, motherboard and all other devices - except sound card - see below.
I have xp sp2 and all the latest windows updates including dx9 and the latest drivers and applications for the pvr-350 from hauppauge website.

sysetm is very stable apart from within winTV2000 or gb-pvr.

The Problem:

Gb-pvr works great in all functions except when browsing live TV. It seems that about 20% of the time when changing channels it will unexpectadly make the screen from the video out on the pvr-350 go black and then both the video out on the pvr and the pc window will jump to the gb-pvr main menu screen. i.e it will just completly exit the livetv mode. If you then try to go back in, the video out on the pvr-350 will just go black again with no tv reception at all. The only way to get it to work is to restart the machine.

Wintv also crashes when changing channels - except slightly more often - hence i doubt the problem is the fault of gb-pvr!

I have ONE theory as i have heard of sound cards affecting gb-pvr and wintv before. The official drivers for my soundblaster live 5.1 are quite old - the latest available from creative but they are still old - over a year anyway. Am i best trying the micrososft drivers or maybe just whipout hte card and use the AC97 on the motherboard??

Any help is very very much appreciated!!

Thanks,

Peter

  Xrecord: couple of issues
Posted by: pauly666 - 2005-03-10, 09:15 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hiya folks

A couple of issues have arisen with my use of xrecord:

1. I can only see files that I place in c:\videos, other folder names don't show up. Also, the c:\videos folder will only be visible under the VIDEOS menu item. How do I get into the other XVideo paths..? I actually entered the path c:\videos in the config App rather than in the xml file.

2. I read a post from jorm stating the top level icons/pictures could be bypassed so that you are presented with a list view by changing some code in the skin.xml from:

<Advanced active="true" rows="2" columns="4" box="true"/>

to:

<Advanced active="false" rows="2" columns="4" box="true"/>

This doesn't seem to be making any difference for me.

Thanks!

  Force change resolution
Posted by: PvrCrazy - 2005-03-10, 06:40 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Hi, Got some questions again.

1. I just want to know if there is a way to force gb-pvr to change display resolution(to 1024x768) when launch and change back to its original when shutdown(like bsplayer)?

2. It seems like when I run gb-pvr(set to full screen mode), It would go full screen mode but I could still see the windows task bar. How can I set the focus to gb-pvr when the program is launch? Its just annoying that I always have to click the gb-pvr window or in the taskbar to set the focus.

Thanks

  hardware decoder addition
Posted by: cspaulding1 - 2005-03-10, 01:32 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

I notice that under the Playback tab of the configuration program, there is not any support for the WINTV PVR USB2 as a Hardware Decoder. However, it is my understanding that the WINTV PVR USB2 is like the 350 card in that it also has hard PVR. I would like to see that option reflected in the Hardware Decoder in the next version.

Thanks,

cspaulding1

  Problems with MyMusic and MyVideos
Posted by: pauly666 - 2005-03-10, 01:23 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (16)

First things first, I'd like to say a big THANK YOU to all the people who contribute to GB-PVR. Outstanding work. I've only been using it since last weekend and I'm already a true believer! However, I seem to be having some problems with the MyMusic and MyVideos plugins when used with my MediaMVP, specifically:

1. MyMusic will only play the first song in a .m3u playlist when I select the playlist. It reads in and displays the playlist fine.

2. Pressing the "Unnamed" remote key plays only the first song in the folder (should play every file in the folder).

3. Stopping video playback (with the Stop key) before it completes causes the MVP to hang. I have to power down the MVP and stop/start the PC Server App to recover.

Thanks for your help!

Posted by: jasjol - 2005-03-10, 12:02 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (16)

Hi
is there anyone whos has set up defragmentation in a good way?

I just run discdefrag in windows XP and my disk was very fragmented 40% and 81% filefragmentation.

- and a lot of mpg files could not be defraged.

Any ideas how to defrag more often - and how to defrag the mpg files to?

is it possible to defrag a specific file?

manual recordning does not show in Xrecord
Posted by: jasjol - 2005-03-09, 09:39 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi,
I wanted to check the difference in quality so I set one recording of show X via TV-guide and another the same time via manual using Xrecord.

Both recordnings were made but the manual one does not show up in Xrecord - it shows in GBPVR recordings.

tried again now / in Xrecord the manual reocording does not show up in pending / it does show in GBPVR/pending
