Okay. I've looked over the requirements that everybody have suggested, and tried to combine these into an XML file, that can be extended as we need it.
1. PluginDetail.xsd - Schema describing the PluginXML File.
2. PluginDetailSample2.xml - An XML File that validates against the schema.
3. PluginDetailSchema Doc. - This is the Documentation describing the Schema. It is in HTML and should give an idea of what each of the Elements.
The GBPVR element is the Root element.
Most of the elements are Optional because they may not apply. There are two areas that this Schema covers. Skins and Plugins. Each group is optional. Whatever program reads this information in will have to require one of these elements.
Items that need to be decided:
1. The Plugin Categories need to be decided. Right now I'm suggesting the following: Utility, Video, Music, System Info, TV, Other
2. The schema is designed on purpose not to have very many attributes. Yes there are lots of Elements, and yes they are pretty long, but Readability and expandibilty are easier to do this way, then to tie everything to attributes. The only times attributes are used are to indicate types or versions.
3. Additional Information needs to be defined for Plugin Installation and Skin Installation.
4. Additonal GBPVR System requirements probably need to be defined.
Anyway, this is a working draft, and ready for the group to review and make comments.
After we get this part done, and defined, I'll look over the schema required for retrieving the available plugins.
First i have setup GBPVR with one tunercard PVR350 it works, after serveral tries!
Then i try to setup a second device the PVR USB2 both Hauppauge.
First device #1 and second device #2,with wintv2000 both works well, but only one at the time of course.
Finally i set up everything in Congig.exe in GBPVR and only one device is operating at the time.
If i unplug the PVR USB2.0 device then i can acces the PVR350 for recording or preview the show.
If i plugin the PVR USB2.0 then this device is only operating,and the PVR350 is sleeping all the time.
Other sequenses such as booting with PVR USB2.0 or not, can also generate a failure such as:
Error:Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
This has to be a fault in the IR remote driver settings, or something like that!
If GBPVR works with two devices why (in this case) can i only acces one device,
the PVR350 or the USB2.0,but not both.
When you ignore the assertion you get a GBPVR error box:

After help from sub and a bit of fiddling of my own I have GBPVR working nicely on the MediaCenter 300i. The final hurdle was that the recording service would 'at random' crash, usually during a recording. What seems to have fixed it is turning off the realtime virus checking component of my Virus Checker (F-Prot).
Is the need to turn off virus checking common with GBPVR users? With F-Prot you can't turn off scanning for just particular directories - its all or nothing.
Hi I am running Xrecord version 17 and from time to time I get a error message - I have enclosed the error message which is in Swedish and I try to translate here:
The program has generated an exception that could not be handled
then ok to abort the program
and Avbryt to debug the program (her you need a JIT-program which I do not have)
Any idea what is wrong?
By the way I have started to only use Xrecord and it is very good for the children who can navigate by pictures - and the wife is also getting closer to acceptance!
You can now setup guides through the settings in the config app. If you have already created guides I only made one setting change: the Default attribute values were (0 or -1) now they are (Flase or True).
Remember you need FastFind and CDKScheduler in the GBPVR root directory.
There is a problem with creating the scheduler priority file right now. It is in FastFind. When that get's fixed the Guide will be able to create CDK scheduler priority files.

Note: This is a new plugin so there could be bugs. I know of none. Any reported issues was always resolved by having the latest FastFind and CDKscheduler in the GBPVR directory
I love the program... But here are a few of my suggestions on how to make it an even more kick a$$ program.
1.) If you delete a net radio station, GB-PVR freaks out and asks for the original install file. It also does this if you delete any of the original channel icons that come with the program. I love to customize things... so this bugs me.
2.) On the recordings menu, if you delete a show when you get back to the main recordings screen there is no button focus so if you press enter GB-PVR crashes. And when GBPVR crashes... the wife acceptance factor goes down.
3.) Now I dunno if it's possible but I throw it out there anyway. You know how when you install a new skin but it might not have all the skin info for all your pluggins you have installed. Then you go to use a plugin without the skinfo and GBPVR crashes... Is there anyway that we could have GBPVR go to some screen that says skin info not available instead of crashing?
4.) I know this has been mentioned before and I"m sure someone will suggest CDK scheduler (but rumor has it that it's tough to setup and still quite buggy) but when I go to record "The Daily Show" and I come back the next day to find 3 recordings instead of one it's a bit annoying. Sub is there anyway that you can make GBPVR smarter to get around this? Perhaps taking more info from Zaptoit to better distinguish between repeat shows?
5.) Lastly... is it me or does anyone else think the font on the blue skin is tough to read. I'm more of a Arial man myself... but maybe that's just me.
Sub I really do love your program. I've donated cash and talked it up to all my buddies. So don't take my post as a diss... Just some constructive critism from one person, for what it's worth.
I had a bit of a disaster with GBPVR today when my gbpvr.mdb file became corrupted. I had been trying to add a custom task to the main menu at the time - I'm not sure whether this had anything to do with it...
Anyway I'd strongly recommend backing up your gbpvr.mdb file on a regular basis. The last backup I've got is from before I upgraded to version 0.9.10 about a week ago and restoring that has meant that all my recordings are out of sync so I've had to archive the lot of them.
I spent around 3 hours trying to recover the damaged .mdb file but to no avail. If anyone out there has experienced 'Error 3197' then I'm sure you'll know what I mean. It seems the only way to recover files corrupted in this manner is by buying this $400 piece of software:
