ok ive added the ability to use subfolders off of the .link files. so if you place a .link file containing "D:\my videos\" in a dir
and "D:\my videos\" has the subdirs
"a"
"b"
"c"
"d"
they will be added to the list and the same for each of their subfolders, and their subfolders, and so on and so on. it should also work with .link files in another directory, so if you add a .link file to "D:\my videos" and that .link points to "D:\videos\" and in "D:\videos\" you have a .link pointing to "D:\my videos", well that would catch it in a forever loop, but the idea is .link files can be used anywhere.
ive tested this for oh all of ten minutes, and it appears to be working (well this version, ironed out bugs before this).
you need to have v2.1.10.0 first, since i did change some skinning stuff in 2.1.10.0, but havent changed any skinning stuff in this one.
also test check the memory usage, it should be about the same, only using a arraylist to hold the parent directory strings. of course more thigns are being loaded now (ie the subdirs) so it might take a little longer.
once all is well, ill do a proper release, for now its just the dll.
Well after promising this would be more reliabke than my VCR in the past, I found that my first two recordings (of my wife's favourite show, no less! stopped after only about 10 minutes....although I saw no indication of this in the list of recorded shows. What could have happened? Is is possible that my screen saver kicked in and fouled something up? I'm going to try again tonight after disabling screen saver. That's the only thing I can think of.
I can't get video or live TV to playback properly on my PC. All works fine through the MVP and my TV. Videos play fine using Windows Media Player on the PC. I have tried all combinations of video decoders and VMR9/7/overlay with about the same results with all.
The video plays and I have sound but the screen is severly distorted/stretched. When I shrink the size of the GBPVR window significantly, the picture looks better but it only looks like I'm seeing about 10% of the whole screen. I think that 10% is getting stretched when the screen is bigger.
Is the dvr-ms format supported in the video library playback function ? This format seems to to work using software decoder setup in gbpvr however not with xcard playback. Just get a blank screen with the progress OSD indicating 0, any ideas ?
Can anybody advise a new user please on getting this working.
1. Can't get the Redrat Changer Plugin to work - is this just for the Redrat 2 or should it work with 3?
2. The .exe Changer Plugin does not do anything even though the Redrat SendMacroW command works fine outside GB-PVR (and from within Showshifter). I've put it in the root (C:\SendMacroW) to avoid possible path problems and have tried both {channel} and explicit channel number.
3. Only other possible solution is Girder but I would rather not be pushed down this route (or wait for Hauppauge to get round to supporting UK sat boxes with the IRBlaster).
There is not a lot to configure with these and I get no feedback/errors/logs, so I'm a bit stuck. I'm using a PBR-150 card with svideo input with the latest 9010 GB-PVR release.
I am also assuming that it should change channel when I select both watch and record from the guide (I've tried both).

I keep seeing lots of mentions of ffdshow and I get an idea of why its useful, but is there a handy summary of when and why GBPVR uses it and what ffdshow settings are useful?

I am new to this so please bear with me. I have been looking at the PC to TV thing for my family room. I am always connecting my laptop up for my husband and his buddy to surf on. If I set up the system, he can watch TV on the PC or TV and use the channel guides and record, etc. Will he also be able to such the net on the TV and open files via the TV? Am I wrong to assume that this is basically just enabling the TV to act as a display device? Thanks!

SHS claims on that site to have had some success running the 550 with gbpvr. Your program can fill a hugh void given the utterly horrible software that accompanies the 550 cards.
