Recording quality setting for DVB sources.
Posted by: gbq57 - 2005-02-21, 11:36 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Would I be correct in thinking that the recording quality setting is ignored for digital capture sources - i.e. the broadcast stream is saved to disk directly without re-encoding.

Regards

No Audio with MPEG4 / TV Walker MINI
Posted by: mobiusnz - 2005-02-21, 07:36 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I have been changing settings SOOO much and installing other bits and pieces (Intervideo WinDVD, Cyberlink PowerDVD etc) that I don't know what may have caused this but if I record to Microsoft Mpeg4 or DIVX I get REALLY nice picture quality - much better that poxy old on the fly MPEG2 but the audio doesn't play - If I play it in Media Player it attempts an audio codec download and fails and GSpot reports the Audio being PCM and no codec required but when I tell GSpot to render the streams is fails. I can still play back an MPEG4 captured program I captured previously fine so I'm at a loss?

  Several MVP issues
Posted by: rykr - 2005-02-21, 05:45 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (9)

I have scanned the forum but not really seen these posted.

Tonight while watching the NBA all star game, the video would just start over sometimes after fast forwarding through a commerical and then hitting play to resume watching. This worked several through the first few commericals however.

There is a serious memory leak in the MVP service. It wouldn't respond a couple of days ago and I noticed that it was up to > 500 megs of RAM used. Restarted, and it started working again.

In general, the server seems very unstable. Tonight I had to restart the MVp server 5 times in a half hour period because it wouldn't respond after a few button presses.

Also, can the MVP server be installed and run as a windows service?

  Reconfigure OSD?
Posted by: aurora - 2005-02-21, 05:12 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Does anyone know if there is a way to reconfigure the OSD? To get my video card and TV to work together well, I had to overscan the output of my video caed at the TV. Managed to fix most of the problems with the skins displaying off screen, but have not been able to fix the OSD. Need to shift text up and to the right a bit for the display to show up properly.

Also, default font in the blue skin is a little fuzzy on my TV. Does anyone have a suggestion for something that displays cleaner?

Thanks...Mark

Posted by: reven - 2005-02-21, 04:17 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (4)

im trying to add "Auto play dvd on insertion" functionality, i can determine if a video is playing via EventTypes.CurrentVideoTrack and EventTypes.VideoStopping im just wondering how i can determine if live tv is currently being viewed. the two live tv types are EventTypes.CurrentChannelNumber and EventTypes.CurrentChannelName; can these be used to tell if live tv is/isnt being used?

  Confused - .90 or .13?
Posted by: daphatty - 2005-02-21, 02:41 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I'm currently running GB-PVR 0.90.10 and just noticed that there is another version 0.13. Why the two versions? What's the difference?

  WMA via MVP

Why cant WMA files be seen or played via the MVP? The MVP native interface now supports this.

This is a guide replacement. Basically this has every feature with the built in guide with two differences:

Integrated with Fast Find - therefore the CDK scheduler.
You can have multiple guides (see the guides.xml file – self explanatory)

Download it here
