  Mpeg File cleanup
Posted by: gbq57 - 2005-02-21, 07:04 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

My feed to the nova-T is not as good as it should be and I occasionally get audio (usually) and video (sometimes) drop outs.

playback is usually OK and usually re-synchronises on both the PC and MVP. However, all the editors I have used so far (cutterman, tmpgenc, virtualdub) all end up with audio sync problems (I'm fairly sure it is because of the errored data).

Does anyone know of, or can recommend, any software that has a fair stab at cleaning up such files so that they can be edited, demuxed etc with relative ease.

Thanks, Paul

how to resume playback where left off
Posted by: rykr - 2005-02-21, 05:29 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

If I am watching a previously recorded show that is say 2 hours long and I am 1/2 through it and then decide to go out and look at my guide and make some recording selections, how can I then resume playback where I left off or do I have to fast forward through the video to where I left off?

  Better conflict resolution
Posted by: rykr - 2005-02-21, 05:07 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

I am not certain how much of GB-PVR is open source (if any) however I would be more than happy to help work on this feature. I am a .NET developer and have been a C++ developer for over 15 years so I know I can contribute.

Anyway, I noticed that GB-PVR and Media Center have less than optimal conflict resolution. For example, if I have a 1 hour show scheduled to record on channel 2 and I then select a 2 hour show at the same time on channel 3 (in a 1 tuner system), I am told that they conflict and the only options I am given are to cancel show 1 or not record show 2 at all.

I should be able to specify which show to record the first hour and have the second hour of show 2 recorded. This can be useful, for example, when I am trying to record the last part of a sporting event. I don't care that I can't record all of it, but record all that is possible.

  more parameters for postprocessing.bat
Posted by: mz-system - 2005-02-21, 04:32 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (9)

hi,

now there is only one parameter for the postprocessing.bat (filename with path of the finished recording).

more parameters will be nice ;-)

like

%1       filename (like now)
%2       programmtitle
%3       description
%4       starttime (real, inclusive pre-padding)
%5       endtime (real, inclusive post-padding)
%6       channelname
%7       recordtype (once, season, season timeslot)
%8       quality
and so one, more ist better ;-)

don´t know the max count of the possible parameters, but this will be nice :-))))))

  Avi on MVP
Posted by: Cueball - 2005-02-21, 03:40 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (2)

Just wondered if anyone could help me out with a little problem I'm having, as I'm fairly new to PVR and the MVP.

I have managed to install the MVP with no problems and running Hauppauge current software for it can play my movies on it, so far can play mpg, avi, divx, xvid.

However, I much prefer the GB-PVR but as yet cant get any avi to play, only mpg, Am I missing something??

  Theater Plugin
Posted by: jorm - 2005-02-21, 03:37 PM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (8)

A new version based on the released srchuck fandango parser.  With a new front end with

Cast
Release Date
Director
Times
Rating
Plot Summary
Movie Review
Movie Poster
RunTime

If you want to write your own parsers let me know and I will help you get started.

I am still only supporting fandango.

  GB-PVR MediaMVP Server window
Posted by: gblinckmann - 2005-02-21, 03:06 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (5)

I'm running the 0.9010 version of GB-PVR and when I log in I still get the MediaMVP server window. Closing it kills off a gbpvr.exe process, but it restarts itself without the window. Is this supposed to start, or is it something left over in the registry from an old version? Although is doesn't bother me, it does bother the wife [Image: sad.gif] ...

Also, when this window is closed, the MediaMVP disconnects and then reconnects when the new process is spawned. That's kind of annoying since people tend to login to the computer and use it when I'm watching shows or listening to music through the MVP.

  WAP page
Posted by: kendrak24 - 2005-02-21, 12:59 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

It would be nice to have a _very_ simple WAP page to schedule a recording. Just a login page followed by a page where you are able to select a channel, and a start and stop date+time. Nothing fancy. The simpler the better (less bytes to transfer...)

For those times when you sit at the pub and suddenly remembers that you forgot to record something! [Image: smile.gif]

  Nova - T / MVP program boundary
Posted by: gbq57 - 2005-02-21, 12:59 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I have a Nova-T (90002), MVP(1004) and GB-PVR v0.90.10.

When viewing time-slipped programs on the PC I notice that a mpeg file is created in the LiveBuffer folder (as expected) - but I would expect it to be deleted (unless recording is indicated during viewing) and a new file created when the next program starts. This does not happen - the file just keeps getting bigger and bigger. Once the program boundary has been exceeded GB-PVR seems to crash a little more often. Also the files in the LiveBuffer folder tend to remain there once viewing has been completed.

Watching a program on the MVP always crashes the MVP on program boundary.

I would be happy to investigate/report further but I would like confirmation if it's just my system or not. If others with this hardware have similar issues then I will lnvestigate further. If it's just my system, it's my fault and I'll stop bugging people.

Regards, Paul

  TV GUIDE BROKE
Posted by: ken228 - 2005-02-21, 12:33 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Installed the latest version a few days ago worked great until now. When I try to enter the tv guide from the menu I get the following error

" Error: Item has already been added. Key in dictionary: "1876" Key being added "1876"."

Do I need to reinstall? If so anyway to save current settings?

Thanks,
Ken
