  MVP after Power Outage
Posted by: Ron22 - 2005-02-15, 05:09 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (7)

I had a power outage last night. Now the MVP will be stuck at lodaing application, contacting DHCP server.
When I installed GB-PVR I went to services and stopped all the hauppauge software.
I got everythig working by restarting the hauppauge software and powering up the MVP. Then turning off the hauppauge software again.
Is this an issue of not having a DHCP server?

Posted by: pinkpig - 2005-02-15, 04:56 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Hello all...

I have a FTA Pansat 2500A. I want to be able to use the included IR blaster that came with the PVR150. I tried using the blaster config from hauppauge but it doesnt work. It had an option for satellite/pansat but the codes they offered didnt work.

anyone have any ideas? or know anyone who has a similar setup that i can talk to =)

thanks
L

  2 150's It Works.
Posted by: jjakober - 2005-02-15, 04:06 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

I finally got it working!! After many GBPVR loads/unloads, driver loads/unloads, card location swaps and anything else I could think of short of a complete system wipe and rebuild(this is our only PC) I am now able to record 2 shows at the same time with my 150’s.

What happened was that after removing the 150’s from device manager, rebooting the PC and allowing XP to redetect and install them every thing would work. The problem was that if I then rebooted the PC, for what ever reason, GBPVR would go back to only recording off of one 150. It would show 2 shows being recorded but only one was actually being saved.

What I discovered was that if I disabled one of the 150’s in device manager before I rebooted the PC and then enabled it after the PC came back up, GBPVR was able to record 2 shows at the same time.

I tested this several times and the results were always the same:

2 recordings working, both 150’s enabled, reboot the PC, 2 recordings no longer working.

2 recordings working, disable one 150, reboot the PC, enable the 150, 2 recordings still working.

Now I had to figure how to automate this so if I needed to reboot the PC it would not get broken. I wrote a script that disables the 150 on shutdown and another script that enables the 150 on startup. I use the local group policy to fire them up at startup and shutdown.

I would imagine that a full system reload would probably fix this, but that just isn’t possible at this time.

An interesting side note: I downloaded the trial of SageTV to see if it’s dual tuner support would work with my setup ( I wanted to make sure I didn’t have a hardware problem) and the funny thing is that it worked just fine without having to mess with the devices before or after reboots. Not that I would ever change from GBPVR to SageTV, Sages interface isn’t anywhere as intuitive as GBPVR and the MVP support stinks!!

Anyone out there have any ideas of what might be happening to my 150’s on a reboot that would cause them to not function correctly only in GBPVR??

Sub, the latest build kicks butt!!!

Later,
jjakober

I didn't update GBPVR for a while (I was back in 2313 version) and I found out about and installed the new version today.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE!
My MOST MAJOR PROBLEM, button switching delay is gone! It's not even 1-2 seconds (it was 9 in my case!Wink, it's instant!

...it remains to be seen if I have the old functionality (this is one of my questions) though. (see #6 below)

So here are the things I (already) need some help:

1) Can someone remind me the registry entry (or was it a config.xml entry?) so that I can switch channels by pressing the number and NOT press enter after that? Sub did tell me the trick (I hope it still works in this version), but I cannot find it in the forum. You see I uninstalled first and then reinstalled.

2) Teletext doesn't seem to work with overlay. Correct? Or is it just me?

3) Teletext doesn't show Greek. [Image: sad.gif] Well I wouldn't expect it to (initialy) but is there something that can be done with GBPVR to fix it or not? (of course any help I can give, I will give)

4) I notice that some times there is a standard interval "pause" when in live tv... meaning that I have a half-a-sec stop every two seconds (for example)... sometimes it's there, sometimes not... is it anything I can/should do with buffer settings? I think I haven't noticed it in overlay (but I cannot be sure since I intalled this version a few hours ago).

5) I STILL GET MANY LOG FILES... (logging level is "debug" in xml - I haven't touched it) - see the attachment what I have just now AFTER I deleted all logs and restarted the program just once!

6) With this version I still have pause TV like before? I press "pause" on my remote it goes to a black screen saying "wait starting timeshifting mode" or something and then pops up an "error: failure playing back file"... what is wrong?

6b) And if I (manage to) go to timeshift mode, I will have the huge delay between channels again? (just wondering)

7) I certainly hope some keyboard assignment control will come some time for this wonderful program. I don't need a nice GUI, I would edit the xml or cfg if needed. I just would LOVE to have control over what key does what.

Thanks in advance.

  ATI Theater 550 Support
Posted by: Satnav4 - 2005-02-15, 02:13 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Has anyone gotten GBPVR to work with the ATI Theater 550 chip? It is allegedly a hardware encoding chip. They are popping up in Sapphire (zipzoomfly.com) and PowerColor (newegg.com) products. I have one on order that I would like to run in "tandem" with my 150's.

  Video Input Help
Posted by: USAF_Flyer - 2005-02-15, 11:44 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hellp everyone. This is my first post. First I must say that the GBPVR software kicks some a$$. Now onto my problems. I can record live TV just fine. My question is I have the Hauppauge PVR150-MCE, and I would like to know how to record from external sources? I can't find a way to choose my source of video. I want to record some old VHS tv shows to my drive and then to DVD. Also, does the software allow me to record off the FM radio or just listen to it? Thanks in advance for the help. I searched the forums and could not find what I was looking for

  Resume DVD playback/DVD settings
Posted by: mikaelgu - 2005-02-15, 10:34 AM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

I have no clue how easy this would be to implement but one feature I'm missing in GB-PVR is the ability to resume playing a DVD from the middle of the movie, just like one can do with ones own recordings and even divx-movies (and with DVDs with most if not all software players).
Also would be great if one had the ability to configure DVD settings from the Config application (see my post from a few days ago in the supposrt forum regarding DVD audio set up).
