MyVideos will not play my movies
Posted by: Thomas - 2005-02-15, 07:22 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (4)

I have installed the MyVideos plugin to use with my MediaMVP and it is exactly what I have been looking for in terms of layout. The .link function is great so I can gather my movies into a few directories. My problem however is that it will not play my movies. when I press play, the screen goes black like it's starting the movie, but nothing happens. I know they are correctly formatted cause they work with the Videoarchive plugin. What am I doing wrong? Can anybody help me....

  Avermedia 1500 MCE support
Posted by: jfloris - 2005-02-15, 04:54 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (17)

I am trying to run GBPVR using Avermedia 1500. I have selected the Avermedia 150 profile, but I can not get external tuner to work via the S-video input. The recorder does not start at all. The internal tuner can be used for recording, but live TV produces the following error:
Object Reference not set to an instance of an Object.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Jim

  LCARS-TNG Skin
Posted by: chasef - 2005-02-15, 04:05 AM - Forum: Community Announcements - No Replies

Okay, here's my LCARS-TNG skin.  Obviously, this is an LCARS layout.  I'll be updating this skin as time goes by. The functions that I don't use I've still edited so they should match up but if you find a problem, lemme know and I'll see what I can do.  Font file to go in your Windows\Fonts dir and the language.xml file to go in your GB-PVR dir are included.
Like an idiot, I didn't back up my original skin (which was TNG-style) before I changed over to Nemesis-style, so there might be some problems in this from where I re-converted.  Please let me know if you find anything wrong.

  Making the jump to GB-PVR
Posted by: tnkrtrn - 2005-02-15, 02:48 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I've finally decided to make the jump to GB-PVR. I've got a few questions that I'm hoping I can get some direction on.

I got a spare pc from work. It's a P3 1ghz with 512megs of ram. I'm going to have 2 hard drives (120gig and 160gig combined into one big 280gig hard drive). I'm also going to purchase a WinTV PVR 250MCE card and a MediaMVP unit.

Do you guys think my pc is under powered? I ask because some of the specs I've read for the card are above what I have right now.

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]Processor requirements: Pentium® IV processor 1.2GHz or faster for TV pause with full screen playback

I also don't have a powerful video card in this pc. Just some nVidia based 64meg card. Nothing other than GB-PVR will be running on this machine and it has Windows 2000 installed on it.

  VisionPlus DVB-T channel scan crash
Posted by: vitesse pilot - 2005-02-15, 12:40 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi,

I have installed latest version of GBPVR ( 09010 ). I tried to configure for my twinhan DVB-T card ( with the Spectrum BDA drivers ). At first I got some channels, but not the BBC Mux. I tried to scan again and I get the following exception .....

************** Exception Text **************
System.ArgumentException: '0' is not a valid value for 'value'.
  at System.Windows.Forms.ComboBox.set_DropDownWidth(Int32 value)
at b9..ctor(String colName, DataTable dataSource, String displayMember, String valueMember, DataGrid dataGrid)
  at Config.Plugins.BDAChannelMappingForm.a()
  at Config.Plugins.BDAChannelMappingForm.d(Object A_0, EventArgs A_1)
  at System.Windows.Forms.Timer.OnTick(EventArgs e)
at System.Windows.Forms.Timer.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr idEvent, IntPtr dwTime)

<snip>

Any ideas why the exception and if I can do anything to fix it. If I can supply any further info, please let me know.

Cheers, Vit.

  MVP "failed to locate" server?
Posted by: dayznfuz - 2005-02-14, 11:42 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (2)

Hey, all. Need some help here.

I'm trying to get the Hauppage MediaMVP working with gbPVR, but I'm striking out.

My system:
Dell 8400
D-Link wireless router (but everything's connected with ethernet cables)
Hauppage MediaMVP
Plextor connectX M402U capture device.
Sygate Firewall
Windows XP Home (windows firewall off)

I install gbPVR. Setup and everything goes smoothly, and it works on my computer.

So. I close my firewall to get that out of the way. I install the MVP software and plug in the MVP. Everything works fine from the Hauppage end. Their GUI comes up. Everything's looking good.

I disable Hauppage's services (MVPMedia and MVPMediaSvc). I start up the gbPVR config and enter the "number of servers to autostart" in the Playback menu to 1. I hit okay, and the recording service restarts. Under the services menu, "GB-PVR Recording Services" is now running.

Okay now, I unplug the MVP and replug it in. But now it doesn't work. All I get is "connecting to servers" then it waffles between "Failed to Locate GUI Server" and "Failed to Locate Streaming Server."

I'm out of ideas. I've tried it with gbPVR running and not running. With the GB MediaMVP program/window running and not running (btw, does this have to be open for it to work). The moment I re-enable the MVP services, things work again.

So in short, the connections all seem to be okay, but the MVP can't pull the interface from GB PVR for some reason. Any ideaas?

Thanks

  Getting interlacing right.
Posted by: flumpdumpy - 2005-02-14, 10:38 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

Ok, here is my current settup, My pc is is an AthlonXP 1700, 640 Megs DDR266 Ram, PVR-250 and a ATI Radeon 9550 using S-video out. I am hooking it up to a Sony Wega 27" SDTV North American NTSC.
I currently have my desktop resolution @ 720x480 with the Catalyst "Video Mode" enabled.
The problem I am having seems to be with interlacing. Since I only have an SDTV I am trying to keep the interlaced fields intact so that it will display correctly on my TV (de-interlaced images on my TV make my brain itch). The way it seems to be displaying right now looks as if the fields have been swapped (jittery "ghosting" images on the TV, normal interlace artifacts on the computer monitor). What is strange is that it does this in both the "live preview" and "timeshifting" modes, so it does not seem that it is a decoding issue but rather a problem with the source.
So the only thing that I can think of is to either switch the field order on the pvr-250 or switch it on the output of Radeon. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to do either.
Anybody have any suggestions?
