Net Radio: failed to connect to radio station
Posted by: red_f - 2005-02-14, 09:57 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

When you get this message while trying to select a Net Radio station:

Open the log file GBPVR.exe.log and look if you something similar to -

<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">14-2-2005 22:44:58.760 VERBOSE [2] ShowMouse ref=0

[/QUOTE]

In that case

1) make sure that you provide sufficient access control (I simply gave 'Everyone' full control [Image: smile.gif] ) and

2) make sure that there are no read-only leftovers from previous sessions (I just deleted all the mp3 files there)

Hope this may help somebody with a similar problem.

How to use remote control from Nova-T?
Posted by: danylen - 2005-02-14, 09:36 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hello, I have a Hauppauge Nova-T (909) and installed the BDA driver from TechnoTrend. That way I could get the latest version GBPVR working (0.90.10) with my TV card. However, while using the BDA application my remote control is working fine, I am unable to use it with GBPVR. I could not find any clear information about this and wonder if there is any way to get my remote working with GBPVR?
Otherwise, there is not much fun in using this, if I have to use a keyboard :-(

Thanks,
Dany

  GB-PVR Start menu embedding
Posted by: cwills - 2005-02-14, 09:16 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

sub, I have a quick question. Why is it that if I move my GB-PVR folder off of the Programs group to lets say a sub folder, occassionally when I start the program, it brings up a quick box saying that GB-PVR is installing or configuring. And then it gives me the Config app. It's done it in almost every version that I can remember, but the newest one also clears my capture source &amp; EPG when it does it.

I know that the shortcuts within the GB-PVR folder are not normal Windows shortcuts, pointing to a directly .exe file, but is there any way they can be moved, or do I have to leave them in my Programs group?

tv guide only shows two hours ahead
Posted by: estwig - 2005-02-14, 07:05 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

I am from the uk and love gb-pvr, bought a pvr 150, after finding gb-pvr cause it is a great piece of software.

I can't work my vcr anyway

Get a superb picture on the tv with my geforce fx 5200 graphics card, much better than the rubbish supplied by hauppage with the card.

I am running version 0.90.7c and the probs are the tv guide will only show 2-3 hours ahead even though bleb-uk is downloading a week in advance.

Also search guide is only showing up to the letter H.

If someone can help me to resolve these two issues, i will love gb-pvr for ever.

Thanks in advance

TIP: Philips TV & wintv remote power work-around
Posted by: capone - 2005-02-14, 07:01 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Just for anyone who has a Philips TV and a Win-TV remote, and has enjoyed the &quot;feature&quot; of the Radio button being the same as the power on the TV remote (so you turn on the TV to find yourself in Net Radio).

I changed the mapping in irremote.ini under [GB-PVR] to make Radio={esc}{home}

Doing this means when you turn off the TV, GB-PVR jumps to the menu screen, even if you were in live tv w/ the guide osd open. Now you don't need to back out before turning off the tv, so it really is a feature now.

Now if only it worked the other way, as I'd love to turn the tv on/off from the win-tv remote....

Web Srvr not working after upgrade to 0910
Posted by: Darx-starz - 2005-02-14, 06:32 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I have been using the websrvr for a while now on 0908 and it has worked OK. Since I updated to 0910 it has stopped working. The recording service shows:

14/02/2005 18:15:54.718 VERBOSE [4] getValue: /settings/WebServerEnabled : true
14/02/2005 18:15:54.718 VERBOSE [4] getValue() loading new key/value into cache: /settings/WebServerPort

14/02/2005 18:15:54.718 VERBOSE [4] About to check web assemblies...
14/02/2005 18:15:54.718 INFO [4] Start GB-PVR web on: 1234

But when I try and netstat (netstat -na |findstr /i *.1234) for port 1234 its not there. Any ideas?

  DVD player or playing DVDs?
Posted by: capone - 2005-02-14, 06:10 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Is there a reason gbpvr would play some DVDs and not others? I can get a Thomas DVD to play for my son, but not a LoTR or Matrix DVD (it just sits on black screen).

I'm assuming it's just that the DVD player is the no-name POS it is, but I wanted to make sure there wasn't a technical reason otherwise before I order a semi-decent one.

I know the Maxtrix one works from playing on the laptop, and it didn't work before I reinstalled my sys yesterday (w/ many changes, from mce to pro, less clutter of codecs, .0901 version, etc).

No sound in Net Radio or Music library
Posted by: Darx-starz - 2005-02-14, 06:03 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Before I upgraded to 0910 my net radio and music lib worked OK. This has nothing to do with the upgrade as it stopped working before I moved to 0910. If I connect to the PVR using VNC I can play an MP3 file and I can here it from the speakers. I noticed that netradio creates a buffer file and I can play that. It uses windows media play as default. Just does not play through GB-PVR OSD. Any ideas?
