Yesterday I finally finished the setup of my new PVR pc in the living room, finally connected it to the TV with a good quality cable (instead of the shitty Marmitek I tried for over a week...).
Time to play! So I scheduled some recordings and played them back later.
The sharpness of the recording is amazing, subtitles are also very sharp. That suprised me in the positive way.
But... (there's always a but...) I have a tiny delay in the audio when playing back on the hardware TV-out. Just enough to be anoying. Besides that, the playback is not realy fluid (or how do you say that). It looks like it skips some frames per second, talking people look weird.
P.S.: If I watch a recording back on the pc screen, it looks awesome, sound is ok (no delay) and playback is fluid. So it looks to me like a TV-out issue.
So, finally my question:
Do I have to adjust some more settings than just the playback device? Is it wise to minimize the OSD during playback (I saw that is also an option) or do I have to make adjustments to some ini file or something?
My Zone Alarm is asking me to allow GBPVR to act as a server and also, I notice GBPVR is constantly accessing the internet. Why? Seems like once a day it would need to update the EPG and otherwise not at all be internet aware. And why should I give it server permissions? If I don't will this effect the functionality?
The only skin that seems to work is the default blue one. None of the other ones (i'm talking about the ones created after and for .90) seem to be working. Anyone else have this experience?
Under CONFIG i change the skin, press ok, then i run the program. My harddrive spins and spins, and then it just stops and never really loads the program.
No one else seems to be having this problem (as far as I can tell) so is something wrong with my set up??
In my system I have two capture cards: PVR-350 + FM, PVR-250. I am not sure what to select for board # when I setup capture sources. Does it relate to physical PCI slots?
Here is how I set it up:
In setup I add source 1, select capture card type PVR-350. What should I select for board #? I selected 1.
I then add source #2, select PVR-250, and again, what do I select for board #? I selected 2.
According to Hardware Mangler my 350 lives in slot 4, while my 250 lives in slot 3.
Has anyone gotten GBPVR to work with an Adaptec videoh! pci? Every time I try to watch live tv the program crashes. And the video hardware encoder doesn't show up in the list evn though it's supposed to have hardware encoding
I tried my experiment of using an external usb for sound and disabling the nForce audio....no go...the 150 remote still kicks out after 15-30min.
Can I simply us the USB-UIRT and teach it the 150? I'm assuming the problem the 150 has w/ losing the remote would be gone, and I would get the 150 remote back?
Also, to anyone w/ USB-UIRT experinece, are you happy w/ it? Could I get to to blast the TV and handle at least power?
I have gbPVR installed and I am using the output from my satellite box on channel 4 as the input to the tuner (PVR150). I already have the irblaster working to change channels on the sat box, but gbPVR has the tuner on some other channel, so all I see is static.
I just installed Ver .9 and now when I schedule a show with Season Record (all episodes in this timeslot, this channel)
I get all show on this chanel. Not just this time slot.
Any one else have this issue? Any ideas?

I have been unable to use the last three releases of GB-PVR, the two version past 027 lockup my Hauppauge 350 regularily, which 027 never does. Â The latest version does not work for me with in 350 hardware decoding mode at all with the external tuner source, only s-video or composite. Â Even with that mode, it locks up my system irregularily very hard, I can't even three-finger salute and end the process, forcing a hard reboot. Â I even resorted to using software output, which is very hard to look at when you are used to the hardware output, and I'm having issues with that also, too numerous to mention.
I can completely live with 027 FOREVER, but now the TV guide is empty, I've been using the xmltv data because the Zap2it doesn't work in this release. Â What's wierd is the web interface works properly and shows my proper tv guide, but within GB-PVR, there is nothing. Â Any help would be appreciated.
