- Implemented initial DVB support for devices with BDA drivers. Both DVB-S and DVB-T should work. FTA transmission only at this stage. Most of my testing has been done on a Hauppauge Nova-S running the TechnoTrend BDA drivers, but TwinHan DVB-T and the Nova-T (newer 90002 model) are known to work. DVB_T has been tested in Sweden, the UK and Australia. Other card types should work and can be added easily to the bda.ini file. A wider list of cards will be added as I perform more testing. You need to have either the Cyberlink or InterVideo Multiplexer filter installed on your machine for this to work.
- Fixed a bug where GO7007SB devices were ignoring bitrates. This was resulting in large video files. Its now producing nice small divx files for these devices.
- Fixed a bug with manual reoccurring recordings causing conflicts.
- Added Live Preview mode for those using software rendering (VMR7/VMR9/Overlay). This means no recording MPEG files to disk, and much faster channel changes - typically less than a second. I'm sure this will be popular for those that like to "channel surf".
- Added support for Teletext when in Live Preview mode with VMR. Enable in config app, then when viewing live tv, press the FUNC button (Ctrl-O) to start.
- Added support for Hauppauge PVR150 IR Blaster. When selected, this will use the IR profile selected in the Hauppauge BlastCfg program.
- Added a button to correct the Hauppauge remote settings contained in irremote.ini. This is useful if upi have to reinstall any Hauppauge software, which overwrites the GB-PVR settings.
- Fixed a few bugs in software renderers (VMR7/VMR9/Overlay).This also fixed a bug that could cause lockups when using FFDShow.
- Added support for widescreen or high resolution skins.
- Now remembers last channel viewed, and will use it next time you start GB-PVR.
- Now remembers last volume level, and will use it next time you start GB-PVR.
- Added tv guide that can be viewed over live tv. You can access it by pressing either the 'guide' button on the new 45 button Hauppauge remote, or the 'Go' button on the older remote. Developers can replace this if they want, using the VideoPopupTask setting in the config.xml file.
- Updated web interface. Now includes search features (thanks KingArgyle!).
- Added a 'Best Colours' option to the XCard settings. This will perform a very accurate conversion to 256 colors for the XCard, with optomized palette for each screen. This work very well, but is quite a bit slower so you'll only want to use it if you have a fast PC.
- Added a 'fully transparent OSD' option for the MVP which stop the screen from dimming when the OSD is visible. Its a little bit slower when enabled, so I'll leave it as option whether you use it or not. This also relies on the newer version of dongle.bin which is now included with GB-PVR.  
- TV/Video/Music/Pictures/Guide/Radio buttons now functional on new 45 key Hauppauge remote.  
- FM Radio now works correctly for the PVR150MCE and PVR500MCE.

How do I make the GBPVRServer to start up instead of the MVPServer when I restart the PC without having to shut down the MVP server? Or is there any appl that can do the job?

I wasn't sure where to stick this since it isn't a direct gbpvr question. but I'm looking for a replacement of my big and ugly mid tower case sitting in my entertainment center. Has anyone had any good experiences or found any good deals on desktop cases???
(specifically sub $100 (after S&amp;H)).

My EPG will only load programs through part of Tuesday. I have run both automatic and manual updates, and it will not give me a week in advance. I am running the latest version, and confirmed my Zap2It account is current through Feb. 15.

How do I load a week again?

I have the system up and running and everything works well with my mouse input. However, how do I configure GB-PVR to use the IRBlaster that ships with the Hauppauge WinTV PVR 150?

Do I just need to configure the ini file for the remote?

I've been thinking of building a PVR, but lately I'm cheap and lazy. Anyway, since I'd have to get a tuner card for any solution, using GBPVR and the MediaMVP with a PVR-150 seems like a cheap and easy way to get started. If I go full-blown later I can always stick the MVP in the basement. I had a couple of (hopefully new) questions first.

1. Is the MediaMVP remote (old and/or new) sufficient for most or all of the functions of GBPVR? If not, what is lacking?

2. Is it easy to switch between GBPVR and the Hauppauge media (or other) server? I would assume this just entails stopping one service and starting another. I was thinking that at times I might have a Divx or Xvid file that I would want to watch using the newer Hauppauge software (unless on-the-fly transcoding is a new feature?). Is there any annoying downside to swapping, like having to reboot the MVP?

3.Another nice looking option is MediaMVP Media Center, which has the great feature of being able to play off of NFS instead of having to have a server running (I don't run 24/7 normally). If that is installed on the MVP can it still control GBPVR if I want to use the PVR functions, and then use it standalone playing stuff off NFS later?

4. Is the radio tuner in the 150MCE supported? The MCE has the radio tuner, which is nice, but the retail has the IR blaster, which may be useful for the cable box if I decide to go that way. However, I'd also have an extra remote.

5. I see at the top of the page an email for commercial licensing opportunities. Normally I like to support open source projects, but GBPVR seems like the best thing for the MVP. What's in store in the future for GBPVR? Will it remain free? Become open? I'd hate to rely on something that may lose support or availability.

Many people, including myself, asked if it was possible to watch &quot;live TV&quot; while recording a scheduled program, if you only have 1 tuner. The answer is, you can't watch any show you want on live TV, because while recording a programed show your tuner is occupied with that recording. But you can watch the show that you are recording (and pause, RW and FF upt to current time) in that show. The way to do this is to go into Recordings, then go to Pending. There you should see the program that is recording that you want to watch, and it should say its status is &quot;Recording&quot;. Select that program, then select play, and voila, you are seeing that show live as it is recording. You can pause it, or go back to its begining, treating it as a video.

I've read similar postings with problems with this, but I did not find a solution to try...

Using v 23 of gbpvr.  I originally had a single pvr-150 (non-mce)configured as capture device #1, everything works great, recording/playing through media mvp.  I decided to add a second pvr-150 (non-mce) to record multiple programs simultaneously.  Plugged in the card, booted up, XP-pro found the new hardware, System Manager says both working properly.  I configured the second as capture device #2, loaded ECP, everything seemed fine.  I kicked off two recordings to test it out.  TV guide shows both recording (red), Recordings shows both recording.  Directory created for both, but only first selected show actually recorded.  Recordingservice log shows following error on second recording:
