I need a little direction about installing the weather plug-in. I downloaded the files. I placed the .dll files from the plugin folder of the download in the plug in folder of gbpvr. I placed the weather folder in the blue folder. I go to config and under the plug in tab I can see weather with a check next to it. I set the settings for my zip code and push okay. the recording service restarts, and when I open gbpvr there is no weather button. I tried a reboot and no dice. I am sure I misplaced or didn't place one of the downloaded files, could someone please tell me which one would make the plug in appear in the config but not in the app? thanks
After reading through many of the posts I see I am not the only one that has these problems, but I have not found an answer that shows that someone has found out how to fix them yet. Â Perhaps I just can't find the right post with the answers. Can someone point me in the right direction.
About 10 months ago I bought a HP Media Center PC with MS MCE installed. Â I have been happily recording TV, editing out commercials, and saving to DVD with no problems. Â The only thing I didn't like about it was that I could only record one thing at a time and couldn't watch something else if a recording was in progress.
I decided to try GB-PVR to see if it would do what I wanted. Â I made a few guesses when configuring GB-PVR and must have guessed right. Â It installed and works flawlessly on the HP with the tuner card that came it.
I have been lurking on this forum for a couple of weeks and felt comfortable in being able to dedicate a pc to build a pvr. Â I wanted to replace the 3 vcrs I have been using in my living room with a single machine. Â I ordered 3 WinTV-PVR-150MCEs and a MediaMVP. Â
I tried to install all 3 capture cards in the pc and ran into problems. Â The system recognized all three but would only install drivers for 2 of them. Â When it tried to install the third, it would always hang the OS and I had to reboot.
I removed 1 of the PVR-150MCEs and the other two installed without problem. Â I was able to install GB-PVR and connect to Zap2it to load the TV Guide. Â Everything looks just as my HP installation with a few major exception. Â
  1.  When I tried to go to Live TV, I got the "Debug Assertion Failed!" message.  The dialog box says the the error is in dbgdel.cpp at line 52 and to see the Visual C++ documentation on asserts. Â
  2.  At first, when a recording was scheduled, a directory was made but it was empty.  After some changing out cards and rebooting a few times, I now get a recording but of the wrong channel.  When I play back the recording through Media Player I see the correct show for a few seconds, then the sound disappears and the channel changes to something else.  It reminds me of an old tv and vcr setup I had once --when you turn off the vcr but the tv was still getting a signal through the cable what you saw on the tv screen was the channel 3 or 4 the vcr was set to.
I removed one of the remaining cards so that there was only one PVR-150MCE in the machine in case there was a conflict between the 2 cards. Â The result was the same.
When I installed the MediaMVP I ran into another problem. I can see the folders in each menu (Video, Pictures, Music) but when I try to show a video or picture I get a message that the folder is empty. I had assumed that the videos that had been recorded using GB-PVR would be the right format to play through the MediaMVP since I see that many people say that they use this device.
I have a Pentium 4 1.82Gh with 512 MB RAM. Â I believe this comfiguration should be able to handle what I want to do. Â I have see mention of problems similar to these in the forums I have read. Has anyone figured them out?
I have a Chaintech 7.1 sound card with SPDIF out. I have an ATI AIW 9600 video card. Origionally I wasn't able to get the SPDIF audio to work with Live TV in either GBPVR or Beyond TV and read in some of the forums that the problem was with converting the analog audio to digital format. I bought a Hauppauge PVR-150 tuner card and now have audio on live TV.
Now I'm trying to play DVDs and am unable to get audio out. I can get audio when I play the DVD through Windows Media Player. I have the ATI DVD Decoder application installed and I believe a Cyberlink DVD decoder as well. I have changed every setting possible in the config and have had no luck. Any suggestions?
I have finally got gbpvr working after much help from sub and tipstir and reven. I am now in need of some tweak help. I would like to know if there is a guide for optimizing gbpvr. I am looking to adjust the display to look sharper. Also I would like to get the live tv to be full screen and not display the toolbar below and the title bar above the tv box. basically just wondering if there is a one stop shop guide for getting this thing all dialed in, or if I should just search this forum. also, wondering about preferred methods for transfering captured video to dvd-rw for viewing on my stand alone dvd player. thanks for all the help,
RS
I'm not sure whether this is GB-PVR related or a problem with the TV card/drivers. Whenever I play back a recording in GB-PVR and I use hardware decoding (WinTV PVR350s own output) the sound is slightly out of sync. The sound is slightly before the video. It's not very far out so you can't see it most of the time but sometimes it's really obvious. I'm still a bit unsure as to whether it starts off this way, or gradually goes more out of sync as the recording progresses.
The output from the WinTV card goes into the TV via a scart lead (both video and audio).
When I play using software decoding, it seems in sync, but the framerate is low / jerky so it's possible I'm just not seeing the sync problem.
I can't see it being related since it's entirely different hardware but I've also been having audio sync problems (again, sound slightly before video) when playing back DVDs using the ATI 9600s S/PDIF out (but not when I use the sound card's analogue out).
Hi all,
I have installad a MMC software called Welltonway Broadbandbox MMC were the GB-PVR software is included.
Now when i try to start the TV the picture gets black.
I have tried everything reinstalled OS, switch the TV-card.
Can the problem be the Graphiccard? I have a Leadtek Winfast A6600GT TDH
A command-line option such as -recstate that returns an error code that could be used in a batch file to indicate whether or not there is a recording in progress - maybe 0 for 'sleeping' and 1 for 'recording active'. A bit like using the systray icon to see if it is sleeping or active.
I just noticed that a show I wanted to record was listed in the conflicts section (part of a Season Record). Clicking on 'Resolve' only gave me the option to 'Make no changes etc.' with no option to cancel whatever it was conflicting with. Going to the TV Guide showed it in orange and when I selected it I got the option to record it (which I chose). Going back to the Conflicts page and using Resolve I then got the option to cancel the new occurence of itself (which I did) and everything is OK now.
I'd previously done an Empty/Update EPG in Config due to the 'To Be Announced' problem with the RT XMLTV guide. Is it possible that there had previously been a real conflict which kinda resolved itself by some other programme having been re-scheduled and the programme remained flagged as a conflict?
Hi,
I've had my set up with GBPVR and a Win TV 350 working pretty smoothly through the tv-out for a while. Â I hadn't touched my box for a while and when i came back to it the tv-out will display the menu fine, but if i try to watch live TV or play any recordings the screen is just black with no sound. Â I can watch tv/recordings with the software decoder on my monitor just fine, but i'd rather have the video out to the tv. I'm assuming this is a hardware decoder issue, but it's weird because the menu works perfectly. Â Any ideas? Â did I miss a driver update?
I use xmltv from port.hu, i can 1st channel list from this:
