i'm workin' on a skin and wanted to get some feedback... if everything is working right and i was hoping that somebody knows how to fix some of the problems i've run into... there are alot of things i wasn't able to skin even though gb-pvr is highly skinnable and is easy to do so at that.
- tv guide: is there a way to modify the width of the tv guide?
- tv guide: i would like to have no lines separating the tv guide listings but to leave like 2 pixels space between the shows... a transparent border so to speak... is there a way to do that? if i make the border-color transparent, there is no visible border between items.
- the manual recordings panel uses the buttons from "recordings"... all of my main-menu buttons are pretty wide including those of the recordings-menu. as a result of that the "record" and "cancel" buttons overlap each other. is there a way of customizing the manual recordings panel buttons separately?
... there are more components i couldn't modify... but these here are the ones that bug me the most... so if anyone has a solution for me i would appreciate it.
Is there any possibility to define menu shortcuts to use with Hauppauges 45 button remote. I mean that this remote has TV, Radio, Guide, Videos, etc buttons and I'd like to have feature that being in Videos (or in whatever plugin) and pressing TV, it goes directly into Live TV, "Guide" goes to EPG, "Videos" to user defined plugin ("My Videos" or "Videos" or whatever), etc. If this function is not yet implemented, it would be nice if future versions will have it
PS. For me it is no problem to press "back-up-up-ok", but just can't explain to wife why these buttons on remote won't do anything useful

sub could you change the osd for the blue (info) during a recording, to match the blue osd during normal live tv. ie show the description in the bottom, and the progress bar, with how much is recorded and how much is left to go at the top of the screen (perhaps even do this for normal video playback).
Just getting GB-PVR running, for the most part everything is great, but when I hit the "menu" button on the Hauppauge 34 button remote that I got with my PVR-350 it locks up my machine everytime.
I am running a hefty P3 750mhz (en/de coding is done on card) XP Pro SP1, 256MB RAM, 120GB drive 8MB buffer, with a Netgear 108 Wireless card.
I also remote desktop into this machine so I have no monitor, keyboard, or mouse connected to it. Otherwise just a base install.
It never ceases to aggravate me that the most basic function of recording Closed Captioning is still non-existent in PVR software. Unless things have changed recently, no PVR software will digitize the entire vertical blanking interval (VBI) and regenerate it upon playback. Yet, TiVo and DVD players perform this flawlessly. So is it a hardware or a software issue and can GB-PVR support it?
* Fixed a bug in the archive utility that caused it to rename comskip log files when archiving files
* Fixed a bug that could cause GB-PVR to crash when converting DVDs to MPEG format.
* Rewrote the display DVD by Genre code to load the file list in a background thread. This will prevent timeout on the MVP display in the case where you have a very large number of DVDs.
* Panel now will optionally display current music track
* Panel now cycles between messages at a configurable rate (default every 30 seconds) if there are multiple messages of the same priority
Hey guys, okay so when i run the plugin it does step one, then does step 2 (out of 3) and then just starts from the beginging (goes back and says click start to begin the rip) I have checked to see the directory that its looking for, and the app is there... I tried changing the directory to a new folder, and the .xml file says its changed, but when checking in the cfg utility, it says the previous directory... any help wouldbe great!
I was wondering if any of you can tell me if it is possible to use one of the legal movie subscription services (Cinemanow, Movielink, etc.) with GBpvr. I use an Xcard for TV-out and Wintv-250 for Capture.
I know the Xcard is mostly designed for mpeg playback, but it can play certain avi's as well. I'm pretty sure Cinemanow uses the wmv codec for their films and at present the Xcard can play these types of files. I don't know about Movielink.
There may be a way to re-stream the file but I don't have the knowledge and my PVR pc is kind of old and slow (350 mhz PII with 320 mb ram).
Any ideas how I may be able to view legal movie downloads with this setup? Thanks!
