Posted by: Alkali - 2005-01-08, 09:59 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

VideoLAN is a is a free application which supports music and video playback in a wide veriaty of formats including DVD. I was wondering if it was possible to make this the DVD player for GB-PVR or can someone work on that?

  WS skins
Posted by: reven - 2005-01-08, 05:00 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

ive been playing around with a widescreen skin (852x480), ive got it work pefect on weather, myvids, mymus, mypics (all the ones ive worked on Tongue), but other things seem to have the 720x480 hardcoded in places, all that needs to be changed to allow for widescreen skins is instead of 720 and 480 hardcoded, is backgroundimage.width and backgroundimage.height, this will allow for any dimension for skins. heres a screen shot
[Image: myvideosws.jpg]

ive tested in on the 350 and it looks fine. things i know need to be altered: main menu, tv guide, recordings, search tv guide, fastfind

the tv guide it would also be nice if you could adjust the bounds of the well tv guide, keep the 2 hours fixed, but for widescreen you could strectch it out about 120 pixels more allow for more information to be displayed. this is a quick fix, so i hope sub you can include this in the next release (well at least the backgroundimage.width/height fix).

cheers.

  USBUIRT: DirecTV
Posted by: mfu5324 - 2005-01-08, 12:43 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Okay,
I bought the USBUIRT. I have the RCA DRD480RE reciever with a Hauppauge USB2 250 and Hauppauge Remote.

I still cannot get the channels on my RCA reciever to change. My remote will change the OSD for GBPVR and navigate its menus, but when I turn the channel it only turns the channell on the OSD not the sattellite.

My USBUIRT does flash and light up each time I hit a remote button. Do I need to have the RCA box off or what... please help...

Thx

  From TV to DVD
Posted by: rogpeter - 2005-01-07, 11:43 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Hi. I'm soon purchasing a Hauppauge pvr-150, and I'm looking forward to using GB-PVR to record television. My whole goal is to be able to record shows, then burn them onto dvd. Right now I'm trying to get software issues figured out, so I'm wondering... can someone point me in the right direction for how to go about getting my recorded shows onto dvd (i.e. what software is best, what formats do I need, etc.). I'm very new to this, so I appreciate your help in pointing me in the right direction.

Thanks a lot!

Potential Web Interface Skin and Search Function
Posted by: sleptoor - 2005-01-07, 08:50 PM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (2)

So I'm looking to build a search function and also re-skin the web interface. I think the skinning will be easy. Is it possible to call the search controls using the aspx conponents? Is it possible to ask GBPVR for info using SQL or should I load the whole sheduale into ASP (which would be quite slow i'd imagine) and then use aspx to search it? Or maybe (hopefully) it is possible to instance a DSNless database connection and use ASPX ADO.net abilities to do my sql searching?? I haven't even tinkered at all yet but I'm looking forward to my first addition to the project.

Suggestions?

Is this even something people want? ...I know I would like it, as I sit at work trying to find and record fricken Battlestar Galactica (I think its on tomorrow).

new install and a few problems
Posted by: spyder - 2005-01-07, 08:45 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

hi all...

been playing with gbpvr for a few days with the idea of using it as a pvr frontend for meedio, but i've realised it's good enough to use on it's own, hope someone can help out with a few problems that i'm having (listed below)

1.is it possible to change the available channels in the net radio plugin

2. text cropping in buttons and on epg, i'm using windows large (120%) fonts which work well on tv

3.are there supposed to be on screen controls for the dvd player plugin ? once i start playing a dvd all i can do is alt/f4 to close the prog

4.if i launch an external app i get a black screen with a LAUNCHING EXTERNAL APPLICATION message, if i click on this screen the app i've started looses focus and i'm stuck in the black screen...alt/f4 needed again [Image: laugh.gif]

5.how do i install plugins/skins as i cant find any info on this

done a search for all the above but could'nt find anything to help

thanks in advance....

  EPG Update ending a recording?
Posted by: scooby_doo - 2005-01-07, 06:47 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I love GBPVR, but I've run into this twice now and I need to figure out what's going on. If I'm reading this right it looks like the update of the EPG killed my recording. Can anyone confirm this? And if it is the case is this a bug or are you supposed to know not to schedule shows during the EPG update. Oh the bit about not changing the channel is because I have a USB UIRT configured but I had to remove it for a while as I move things around.

  Better button ordering
Posted by: dirtboy - 2005-01-07, 12:36 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

On the Available recording page when you view a entry it has Play at the top, Delete in the middle and Exit at the bottom. I have a habit of viewing this list them going immediately to Pending where the properties has Exit at the top, Cancel in the middle and Update at the bottom. Would it be possible to change this to match the other page more closely, namely, on the Pending Episode Recording page have Update at the top, Cancel in the middle and Exit at the bottom? That way, Exit is in the same place on both and I don't accidently click something I'm don't want to.

  Recordign duplicate episodes
Posted by: Maestro - 2005-01-06, 11:43 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

So I've dug through both the Wish List and the Support forums and couldn't find anythign regarding this.  I have GBPVR recording a full season of several different shows, and they all have a similar problem: they'll record multiple copies of the same episode.  For example, I have New Yankee workshop on Season Record.  I recorded 2 episodes in the last 24 hours:

1) Recorded: 1/5/2005 4:00AM - 4:30 AM
2) Recorded: 1/6/2005 3:30AM - 4:00 AM

And if I open either of them, I get the same info:
Wall-Mounted Tool Chest
Woodworker's hanging tool-chest.

Obviously this is the same episode.  Is there a feature that I can enable that won't record duplicate episodes like this?  Thanks.

Edit: sweet typo in the thread name. Sigh.
