Posted by: hammerz - 2004-12-30, 01:51 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi..
I tried to sign up for the Zap2it plug-in and after filling out the info and survey I got a "page cannot be displayed" error.
This happened twice.
I did email them but no return yet.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

  Control with Remote
Posted by: duke - 2004-12-30, 11:05 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I understand that a remote can be used to control the functionality of GB-PVR. What I am unsure of is how much functionality. I want to be able to control everything without using a keyboard and mouse. Is this possible? Also this computer will not have a capture card in it. It will just be used as a media computer to play Music and Videos on the TV that are stored on the network server. What remote receiver can I use that will work with GB-PVR.

  Tuner problem with TV Walker Mini
Posted by: hafriedlander - 2004-12-30, 08:17 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi,

I just got a TV Walker Mini - gave up waiting for the Walker Duo to come out. I've installed the latest drivers ( 1.8.0.0 / 2.28 ) and the app it comes with works fine. I already had an old GBPVR installed ( .22something ), but going to LiveTV would always say service could not be contacted.

So, I downloaded the latest version .23 build 13. After a bit of playing, I got it going into LiveTV, but no matter what channel I change to, it never changes but remains on whatever I was last viewing in the TV Walker application. More, if it's the first app I run, everything is in black and white - my guess is that it's not setting it to PAL properly.

I've double checked my settings. It just looks like the tuner is not getting set properly, if at all.

I'd like to download a slightly older version (.23 build 11 or build 8) to test, but I can't find one. Can someone put one up?

Also, anyone with a TV Walker Mini they've got going (especially if you're in New Zealand), what driver versions / GBPVR version are you using?

Thanks,

Hamish Friedlander

  remote doesn't work
Posted by: jpk - 2004-12-30, 05:21 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (5)

I used the hauppauge software that came on the cd, and everything worked, but the image centering was way off. I then downloaded and installed the software from shspvr.com for the mediamvp, the image is centered a little better on the TV, but the remote doesn't work now. The front LED blinks when buttons are pressed on the remote, but they aren't processed. Has anyone seen this before?

Thanks,
Jamie

  MPV not finding the GB-PVR Server
Posted by: raptoger - 2004-12-30, 04:01 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (15)

Hello, guys
I just received my MPV. I installed it direct without using any router. I'm using a crossover cable. It works fine with its own software but not with gbpvr server. I removed the MPV software and then installed it again and then stopped it but it keeps looking for a server even though I have gbpvr server running.
What could it be?

Thanks

  OnScreen Keyboard added to My Music
Posted by: reven - 2004-12-30, 03:17 AM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (5)

[Image: mymusic02.jpg]

ive finally added an onscreen keyboard, so now you can rename and save your playlists with better names.

ive also added a playlist menu which allows you to load,rename or delete a playlist (burn is there, but its not working yet, i just didnt want to mess around with it once its going, so just ignore that for now).

the onscreen keyboard, if i dont say so myself Tongue, is acutally really clever, it should be easy to translate it to any language out there, the rules are this:
everything is in the skin file. (which is under yourskin\onscreenkeyboard not yourskin\mymusic)
like
<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE"><buttons>
<Row>
<button name="KEY#a" normal="a" shift="A". ....</button>
<button name="Done" normal="Done" shift="Done". ....</button>
</Row>
</buttons>
[/QUOTE]
now you can add as many rows as you like so you dont have to have 5 rows like i have it, so its very skinnable, theres an up=&quot;2&quot; down=&quot;2&quot; in some places, which is just used if the keys are larger than the rest like up on the &quot;left&quot; button shouldnt goto the 3rd button on the next row it should goto the 8th (which is 7 since 1=0, if you need help here just ask) which is backspace.

anyway the important part is translating the text.
leave the names as is. &quot;KEY#&quot; means its a key to be put into the textbox (the A orwhatever, doesnt matter, i just left that there, it will just search for &quot;KEY#&quotWink so to replace a with the ae character just insert replace it, and the shift is the upper case value, or if you want to use symbols etc.

now the name=&quot;done&quot; these are specials names it looks for, leave them, translate the &quot;Done&quot; text in the language file, also &quot;Clear&quot; &quot;Cancel&quot; etc.

if you get lost just ask for help.

also if you want the source code to the onscreen keyboard ask and ill send it (want a week or two, just so i can iron out the bugs, but im pretty sure its sweet, oh theres one bug).

read more info about it in the wiki.

enjoy.

  better Netstream 2000 support??
Posted by: sash - 2004-12-29, 08:32 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (17)

Hi there. Not certian where to put this, here or in the wish list.. but would it be possible to get better Netstream 2000 support.. I like your program alot and is very functional for the netstream..
but music file and audio cd will not play ( no sound) .. basically the netstream protocal is not that much different then. xcards ones... other then it's osd appears to be 256 colour, no hardware mp3 or mp4 decoder, and no avi display through the cards video buffer-( probably possible- just sigma will not allow support for this in thier drivers)

basically the only difference is either. instead of transcoing to mp3 do it in mp2 audio.. or probably the easiest would be not submit the the audio mp3 to the hardware decoder..just have the windows system software decoder play it..

thank you for your time, and I hope you might consider it..

  Does hardware decoding work with GeForce 5200?
Posted by: zaarain - 2004-12-29, 07:56 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (4)

I just installed gbpvr and noticed that the dropdown for hardware decoding only lists two cards (X-card and something else, sorry I'm not near that machine atm). I have a GeForce 5200 which is supposed to do hardware decoding as well - will gbpvr support it?

On a related note gbpvr, wintv2000, and windows media player all appear to be doing software decoding - I get 100% cpu utilization while playing a .mpg file. Granted I'm trying this on a 350Mhz machine but I expected lots better. Is there something I need to do to turn on support for hardware decoding on the 5200 besides installing the drivers that came in the box?
