Just uploaded a new plugin I have been working on to the Wiki.
There are already several excellent plugins that provide for a lot of the "standard" functionality of a PVR. I though what else could it do? So I wrote a calculator plugin.
Has anyone seen a problem where the menu or anything displayed through the mvp is not centered on the TV screen? It is pushed down and to the right. Is there some adjustment somewhere in software to correct this?
I understand it is not currently supported but is it technicaly possible to play DVD files (in VOB format) on a MVP? Â I plan to buy a MVP but I store my DVDs in native format to preserve menuing, chapters, subtitles, etc. Â I know I can use DVD2MPEG but then I lose all of those features in my movies.
My question is, will future software enhancements give the MVP this feature or is there a reason (hardware or otherwise) that make this impossible?

I have a Adptec VideOH DVD media Center pci card AVC 2410
cant seem to get it to work with GB-PVR if I run the Tuning assistant I get an error "failed to find Crossbar Filter. Wrong device type" but have set to correct type in set up can you help !!! will work ok with software that came with the card intervideo WinDVR3 ok

Ok, I'm totally new. I've been using Sage, but I wanted to check out GB PVR so I downloaded it last night. I didn't have time to play around with it much, but it seemed like I lost my rewind/pause buffer whenever I went to the menu or to the TV guide. Is this right? This worries me a little because that means that if you pause to answer the phone, when you come back you have to get caught up to the live feed before you ever even look at the guide, or else you will lose all the show that it's been buffering.
Have I got this right? Is there a way to work around it?
I missed the first episode of a short series and a neighbour lent me it on tape. I want to get the tape back to him ASAP so I hooked my VCR up to my PVR350 using a UHF cable, configured an extra channel in GB-PVR called 'Video' set to the VCR's broadcast channel and then set a Manual recording going and pressed play on the VCR. All simple so far.
The MPEG file looks about the right size (1.8GB for just over an hour at Medium record quality). When I play it, however, it has no sound only the pictures. Visually it is complete from start to finish but at no point is there any sound at all, nothing, not even hiss or crackles. I've even tried copying the MPG file to my other PC and playing it with Windows Media Player - same thing.
Any ideas how this could happen with a UHF connection???
I noticed something the other day, that at least with the Walker Ultra, the aspect ratio in the MPEG2 is not being set correctly. It appears that it is being set as 1:1 instead of 4:3. I only noticed this once I tried to convert the corresponding file to a Xvid AVI using AutoGK. If I run the MPEG2 through ProjectX (a java based mpeg cleaner), It will correct the aspect ratio setting, and AutoGK can then detect the correct aspect ratio. This is causing the files to not crop correctly when converting. It would be nice to have the aspect ratio set correctly so that I can at least eliminate the extra step in my conversion process.
Well, as this is the wishlist section, I'll post some things I would like to see in GB-PVR.
1) Improved search that allows you to specify more than the first character of the show and then have to scroll through all shows.
2) Ability to record by type. For example, I happen to be one of those odd people that enjoy watching fishing shows. I would like to be able to say record all shows of type 'Fishing' and have it record all shows that fall under that category.
3) Ability to define simple rules to control automatic deletion of recorded shows.
4) While navigating via mouse on the pc, it would be nice if there was always a way to go 'Back' to the previous window. I have had several times where I had to dig up the remote simply so I could get back to the main menu (Go to the TV Guide page for instance).
All in all, I must say that GBPVR is looking pretty slick. There are a few areas I am hoping more development occurs on, but it is looking good. Now, if the source was released I'd even look at trying to add some of these features on my own, heh.

the one thing your missing from your program is dvb support I notice that your trying to get it to work..
I being doing some experimenting.. it seems that you should be able to get it to work with the ss2 quite easily.
but from the looks of it you need to adjust the gb-pvr filewrite filter abit.
I can connect to fta dvb channel using skyavc then using the haupauge (150mce) file write filter to write the file video to the drive. and then you can access it.. so it should not be too much of a problem to get the gr-pvr filer to do the same..
