With sub taking a well deserved break, and since I have seen this requested a number of times, I'm fielding questions and suggestions on an External Recordings Manager. Basically, it'll be an XML file that contains a list of the Shows that you want to record. Within the file, will be the ability to specify the priority a show gets, and the channel that it airs. The main reason for this is to help with some of the conflicts that can occur. If two shows come on at the sametime and you only have one tuner, then you have a conflict. There will be the ability to specify which CaptureSource to use (i.e. if you have more than one Tuner, which tuner to use) If a tuner is not specified, it will default to tuner that doesn't have anything scheduled at that time.

This will be console based app, and probably should be run after the Episode Guide update occurs. This is a seperate application from the AddReOccuring utility that I wrote to search for Keywords in the episode guide. I know that Jorm is enhancing that utility to work with his Zap2It meta database.

Actual recordings, will still be handled by GBPVR. All entries will be entered in as ONCE recordings just as GBPVR currently does for all recordings. I will also add an interface to the Web Admin to manage the priority of the recordings. If somebody wants to write a plugin manager for this, that would be great.

Anyway, below is the sample XML file I'm thinking of using. Comments and feature requests are welcome. I have no specific time frame to completing this, but hope to have something before the end of the year.

For the type attribute, the values are &quot;All&quot;, &quot;Season&quot;, &quot;Single&quot;. All - scans all channels for this Episode. Season specifies a season recording, and Single specifies a one time recording that is removed from the list. This can have a ScheduleTime element, that specifies when this program should start recording, and within there an EndDate if specified indicates that this program stops being scheduled on that date and is removed from the list.

The rest I think is fairly self explanatory.

I'm running .2313, and since .2311, the OSD dosen't work when watching through my MPV, it does work when viewingo on my PC. I've got a PVR 250.

My MPV remote works fine otherwise.

A second question, where is the remote configuration file? I rember seeing it somewhere, but can't seem to find it now (Maybe thats my problem).

Hello,
is it possible to write a client for a normal PC which works like a MVP? I have a TV Server on that gp-pvr and the MVP-Server are running. Now i want to watch TV with another PC without TV-Card and not with a MVP. It can be done with vnc but i want to use the integrated feature.

i´m testing the very good gb-pvr Software, i get everything working and that´s the only software that have all i need. For a better control of Windows on my TV i must set the Windows font Size to 120%. So everything in Windows is now big enought to work good. I can change the size of the font in gb-pvr with the skin.xml but there is no skin.xml for the osd. Everything in gb-pvr works great but only the osd font is too big.

As I´m one of those JAVA-Guys &amp; progrmming all this as a real gbpv-plugin would have bee too much work for all those controls, ist a java-program compiled to native win32-code. So just add it as a custom task. configuration is made over parameters. just call tvguide -? for al dokumentation.

the program uses the category-description from the tv-data xml-file. so try it &amp; see if it works for your xml-file.

if you click the record this button, the show is scheduled WITHOUT any conflict-check.
you have to manually check it via gbpvr-recordings-conflicts.

I have 2 problems :

(1) I am using the PVR-350 Card's TV Out and cannot record any shows since the TV Program guide has suddenly stopped working - I only get the channel logos - no guide. Of couse, first thing to check was to make sure that the EPG Update was working and I had the right username/pwd for the Zap2It service. I checked and both are correct - by logging in directly to the site. Internet connection is fine too. This was working fine before. I have the latest Hauppauge drivers - and I have tried reinstalling everything. I am using GBPVR v .227 ( I had other problems with the latest version so I unistalled it and reinstalled 227 )
Please note - I can play back all previously recorded shows and the OSD menu works fine too.

(2) Anytime there is a problem with GBPVR - I get the error message &quot;Unable to run this command &quot; and have to reboot the system to get GBPVR to work again. Restarting the service does not help. Also in this case strangely the GBPVR icon also changes from the normal GBPVR symbol to an icon for a file that Windows does not recognize.

Any ideas ? thanks in advance.
