  MediaMVP Server
Posted by: cpenney - 2004-12-25, 03:38 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (6)

Is it possible to launch the MedaiMVP server as a service or at least minimize the application to the system tray instead of in the task bar?

  Open GB-PVR in secondary display
Posted by: KanyonKris - 2004-12-24, 08:36 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

Please add an option to open GB-PVR in the secondary display. Perhaps as another checkbox on the General tab of the config program.

I have a GeForce4 card with dualview. Dualview allows me to independantly configure the two video outputs (VGA/DVI or S-Video). It's like having two video cards. I can set the VGA output to my monitor to 1280x1024 and the S-Video output to my TV to 720x480. When using dualview the monitor is my primary display and shows the taskbar and desktop icons and when I run an application it appears in this display. The TV is the secondary display and is treated as an extension of the desktop (to the right).

I can get GB-PVR to show on the TV (secondary display), but it's a hassle. I set the TV to be the primary display, launch GB-PVR full screen and it fills the TV screen, then watch the TV as I switch back to the monitor as the primary display so I get my desktop back.

I can also use the "-pos:" command line option to put GB-PVR over in the secondary display, but only in windowed mode. If I use the full screen option it always appears in the primary display (monitor). I can use the overscan margin of the TV signal to hide the window frame and header, but it's tricky to setup.

If GB-PVR had an option to force it to appear in the secondary display (full screen and windowed), it would work a lot easier with video cards that support two independant video outputs.

  Playback controls problem
Posted by: footfukinmasta - 2004-12-24, 07:24 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I read the faq for the keyboard controls and everything seems to be working fine except for the rewind and fastforward. When I hold control and R it just jumps back for a second then freezes, when I let go it resumes play. Same goes for fastforward. This happens when I go to watch a saved show.

Thanks

  Merry christmas all!
Posted by: sub - 2004-12-24, 04:00 PM - Forum: NextPVR Announcements - Replies (10)

New Zealand is close to the date line, so christmas has arrived here first.

I'm up early so I can help santa unload the presents from the slay. Its hard work climbing down the chimney, but luckily my daughter has left a nice refreshing chocolate-chip cookie and can of coke...mmm sugar rush....

Thank you to all those that sent over a donation. I ended up with 'a good haul', which certainly helps make for a merry christmas. I'm already planning the next toys to purchase.

I'll be enjoying a few more days off with family before jumping back into GB-PVR, but am already starting think of lots of great new features we could add (after a few over-due bug fixes that is).

Anyway, I hope you all have great christmas and new year.

Regards

Hello I am new to the website. I think you have a great website here and the software looks to be great. However, I have tried downloading it the past two days and haven't been able to get the link to download it to work. Would someone please fix this, or tell me another way to download it. Thanks and Merry Christmas

Hi Sub,

Would it be possible to record only 1 channel of a Nicam broadcast (either A or B)
We have lots of films in original language.
A is German
B is English

In WinTV2000 it is possible to change.
Thanks a lot for your answer
and

MERRY CHRISTMAS to AAAALLLLL of you [Image: laugh.gif]

  (How to setup dualview ?
Posted by: KanyonKris - 2004-12-24, 04:04 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

I've searched these forums and tried many things, but I can't get GB-PVR working the way I want. I have a PC with a GeForce4 card with dualview and I want to be able to use my PC as normal but run GB-PVR on the 2nd display (the TV connected to the S-Video out of my GeForce4). It seems that many people are running this kind of a setup, but for my sanity I must ask: Is this setup possible with GB-PVR?

Everytime I run GB-PVR it comes up in my 1st display (computer monitor). I can drag the window over to the 2nd display (the TV), but I can't get the window border to go away. So I've tried using the "-pos" command line option to force GB-PVR to the 2nd display and this works, but only in windowed mode. When I use the config program to set GB-PVR to launch in fullscreen mode it shows on the monitor, not the TV. I can get GB-PVR to go fullscreen in the 2nd display only by setting the 2nd display as the primary display, but then when I use Windows and launch another program it pops up on the TV unless I go back into the display properties and make the monitor my primary display again. I'm sure I'm missing something here (probably something simple I've somehow overlooked). Please help me regain my sanity - what is the secret?
