  need help setting channels
Posted by: womble - 2004-12-20, 03:22 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Hi, I am trying to set my PVR up so that I can use the schedule guide to record channels. Sounds straight forward but it isnt as I need all the channels to be the same one (the one Sky TV is on) . I would like all the Sky channels to show in the schedule and be able to select a program from this to record and in turn this changes the channel on the satellite reciever (using the same signal that the sky secondary remote eye uses).
So in short the tuner on the card gets tuned to one frequency only (SkyTV)
The Schedule shows all Sky channels but when i select a program to record it will tune to the satellite channel only.
At the same time it changes the Skybox to the correct channel via same way the remote eye des it.

  Password after Hibernate
Posted by: kverde - 2004-12-20, 02:10 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I recently had some problems with video playback and wiped out everything to put GBPVR on a clean install. Things are working really, really well.

However, when I did a windows update, it started making me log in. I found a way around that using "control userpassword2". That was working fine until I realized that it still prompts for a password when it is waking up from hibernate. Any tips???

Also, why does it start asking for a password after a windows update? Is it because I installed .Net 1.1?

Thanks for the help,

  PVR500 vs 2xPVR150
Posted by: chenko - 2004-12-20, 11:55 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (13)

I am looking at getting a freeview card, and have been looking at the PVR500 as I want dual tuners, though the only place that seems to have it in the UK won't have it for a while and I am pretty impatient and want a card before christmas. (There is another place but they want £300 for the card!Wink

I have also noticed that some people run a pair of PVR150s which I can get and cost about the same.

What are the downsides to each? I've got enough space for a pair of cards...

  PC Hibernates while watching TV
Posted by: mrming - 2004-12-20, 11:26 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi,

I've finally got my PVR system up and running using GB-PVR, Hauppauge PVR350 and the Media MVP. It's all working brilliantly and I'm really pleased with result.

One thing I have been trying to achieve is to allow my computer to hibernate when the PVR system in not in use, in order to save energy.

This works fine as far as GB-PVR on the PC itself is concerned. The program wakes the computer when it needs to record something, the computer goes back into hibernation once the recording has finished.

In order to send the computer back into hibernation I have set my power management settings to 'hibernate after 5 minutes'.

The problem I am having is that when I am watching pre-recorded shows via the MVP and GB-PVR is not recording, the PC seems to go into hibernation as if it is not being used.

Has anyone else had this problem? At the moment I'm stuck with disabling auto-hibernation before I watch TV and switching it back on again afterwards.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

  Pinnacle PCTV Deluxe USB
Posted by: agb1 - 2004-12-20, 08:54 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Hi ! Could anyone please help me to figure out if it's possible to set Pinnacle PCTV Deluxe USB device to work with GBPVR ? It's listed as supported - but unfortunately I can't make it work correctly...
First of all when I try to start "Tuning Assistant" application I got following error messages:

1. ConnectPins Failed !

2. Failed to connect pinNameCrossbarAudioDecoderOut to pinNameCaptureAnalogAudioIn

I checked archive of posts on forum and found few posts with similar issues - but no solution so far. I downloaded GraphEdit application and check filters that installed on my system - under

"Audio Capture Sources" I can't see anything related to "Pinnacle" - only sound card and voice modem devices are listed.

From the other hand under "WDM Streaming Capture Devices" - I could see "Pinnacle PCTV Deluxe USB (PAL) Device" and under "WDM Streaming Crossbar Devices" I could see "Pinnacle PCTV Deluxe (PAL) Crossbar"...

What should I change in direct.ini for my device to make audio work ? I would appreciate if you could share other hints and solutions related to this device.
Rgds, Alex

  Object Reference Not Set???
Posted by: 1charmedlife - 2004-12-20, 06:30 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi All,

I can't seem to find any info on an error I keep getting after installing the "Ocean" skin, as I now get an error message stating:

"Error: Object Reference Not Set to An instance of an object"

everytime I try to click on Video Library, Music Library, or TV Guide.

Any thoughts?

Thank you!!!!

"Invalid Namespace" error with diskspace plugins
Posted by: tieke - 2004-12-20, 05:28 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I hadn't tried to use it recently, but I have spotted that the diskspace plugin (and the diskspace option on the xrecord plugin) now doesn't work for me - both of them simply drop me out to the main menu with an "invalid namespace" error.

I've checked that my recordings directory (KSmile is listed correctly in the config, and GBPVR definitely records to there, but for some reason I've got a problem with diskspace plugins (I've only got about 17G free at the moment, so it isn't as if the space free is some wildly aberrant value)

Any ideas?

Adjust Position of TV Out on Win TV 350
Posted by: fischer98 - 2004-12-19, 10:03 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I'm playing with Sage TV as well, and they have a feature to adjust both the menu position and Live TV postition so that it fits your TV properly. When I run GB PVR through my TV out, it's a little tall and too far to the right (same with the live TV). I'm wondering if there is any way to adjust this, kind of like adjust the position of your video signal on your computer monitor.
