Items I would like :

1. As the Hauppague MVP client can play AVIs I would like a GB-PVR plug in that can turn on the Hauppague driver so a re-boot brings up that server - to watch AVIs - then a way to turn it back off (tricky?) back to GB-PVR. Perhapse a toggle mode so the MVP alternatly boots to GB-PVR or Hauppauge.

Reaon for this - I have to walk upstairs (4 stories) to my server PC to switch servers for the MVP when I want to watch AVIs.

2. Some PC based code to allow BBC streamed media (radio & video eg http://news.bbc.co.uk ) to be encoded to MPEG for the MVP.

3. GB-PVR PC client so another PC on the LAN can function like a MVP.

4. Disk space prioritisation feature so that if we run out of HD when recording my partners costume dramas some of my SiFi films or series are toasted in the interests of domestic harmony - some record of this sacrifice should be e.mailed to partner.

I've been using gbpvr for around a month now & I've just got to say thanks for a great piece of sw sub, brilliant job.
As soon as xmas is over & my finances have improved I'll definitely make a donation

sub in the recordings skin.xml you can change the ItemBackground/SelectedItemBackground which seems to change the selector for "reoccuring" "pending" but doesnt change it for "ready", that still uses the default green rectangle that was there before (guessing you just missed it); the bug (not sure if youd call it a bug) only effects the group once you enter the group those items use the right selector thingy.

also (posted this somewhere else) theres a bug in the tv guide skin.xml where the popup title/desc cant use hex colors (ie "color="#232323"&quot will cause it to crash.

im making a new skin (well the media experience one) and well just noting the issues im running into.

First, sub, great job again! I can't say enough about how great this project is.

The last two versions are absolutley awesome. Just wish I knew how to code so I could be more of a help with plugins.

Anyway, enough of the accolades, on to why I started this...

I found two issues:

1) when watching live tv though my MPV, I can't enter a channel number to change channel. For example, I start on channel 2, I must use channel up or down, I can't just enter the number of the channel i want.

1a) on that note, is there a way to have GBPVR remember the last channel I was watching, instead of going back to the lowest channel?

2) The OSD seems to have dissapeared completley. I loved the idea of "minimal OSD", but now I can't get it at all (using blue button with minimal OSD checked, or during channel changes with it unchecked).

*3) Not sure of this yet, haven't run it consistently, but when restarting the MVP, it seems intermittent at reconnecting to the server, restarting the media server seems to fix this, but again, haven't checked it fully. Anyone else see this?

When choosing LiveTV only a black empty screen is shown. A .mpg file is created with size 0. Is there any special setting I have to do for my PVR150 card?

I've tried searching to see if this has been asked before but I get 10 pages of search results no matter how I word my query.

Anyway, I've been using GB-PVR for about a week now and love it - thanks sub, definately the best app. I've tried so far with my PVR 350 and MVP.

One minor point (and it is pretty minor) - the TV Guide shows the channels sorted in ascending channel number order. I'm in the UK and have grown up with the order of programmes on TVs and videos as BBC1, BBC2, ITV1, Channel 4, Channel 5. Unfortunately, ITV1 is ch. 23, BBC1 is ch. 26 and so on. This makes the order on the TV Guide screen as ITV1, BBC1, Channel 4, BBC2, Channel 5.

Is there any way to force a manual sort order? It would feel more comfortable to look at.

sub can you make it so the Date (eg "Mon/26&quot and the TimePeriods are individually placed? presently if you increase the font size or on some fonts, the date comes very close to the timeperiods and is offcenter to the channel icons. eg trying using <"TimePeriods" font="Tahoma" size="13" style="bold"> and you should notice what i mean.

I've been toying with the gbpvr software on the Hauppauge MediaMVP to play back recordings.  I use the Hauppauge remote to control the MediaMVP.  On previous versions of the gbpvr software, I've found that if I hit fast forward or skip after the movie has played for about 90 minutes, the movie restarts from the beginning rather than fast forwarding or skipping.  I just downloaded the latest version, (02311) and the skip now seems to work but if I hit fast forward, it still restarts the movie.  After 90 minutes of play time, the only way to watch a movie I've taped is to watch it in real time.

If I use the Hauppauge software on the MediaMVP to playback the movies, fast forward works fine.  I'd prefer to use your software, as it is much more functional than the Hauppauge.

Any ideas?  Thanks for your help.

I am considering writing a plugin which allows me to schedule recordings by using a command-line program. The straightforward but not very comfortable way would be like follows:
- start gbpvr and activate the AddRecording plugin: gbpvr.exe -direct "Add Recording"
- call a command-line program which communicates with the AddRecording plugin via some IPC mechanism: AddRecordingToGBPVR <recording parameters>
- terminate gbpvr manually after having added the recording.

A more comfortable way would be to start gbpvr without GUI, handing it over the recording parameters via the commandline and than automatically terminating gbpvr, e.g.: 'gbpvr.exe -direct "Add Recording" <recording parameters>'. To do this, I need to know some things and I wonder if someone can help me:
- Is it possible to start gbpvr without a GUI, but activate a plugin?
- Is it possible to access command line parameters of gbpvr by a plugin?
- Is it possible to terminate gbpvr out of a plugin's code?

does the original developer mind if i edit and fix a few of the little bugs etc in the weather plugin, like fixing if at main menu press down goes to the top, will draw a screen and text like "downloading weather info please wait" and not just wait until its downloaded it before it displays anything, and make it more skinnable, i just want to know if i can post my changes and possible update the wiki with my edit (ill take no credit, i dont care, just want to fix a few things).
