I'm sorry for the dumb question. I know that everyone is busy.

I've tried to read all of the old posts but I am still confused. I'm trying to get DVD's to play through GBPVR. I can't seem to get the DVD button to show up. I believe that there are hardware requirements for this but I'm not 100% sure what they are.
Every thing is working fine except for the DVD option. The following is my setup:

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

This is my setup:
Windows XP SP2
PowerDVD
Hauppage PVR250
ATI radeon 9800
LiteON DVD burner
AMD Athlon 800mhz (slow, I know)

I plan to use the S-Video out of the ATI board to connect up to the TV but right now I am viewing TV on the PC.

Since the move to the new version (and betas) the osd seems to never disappear for more than a minute. When watching live tv, even if i take the batteries out of the mouse the osd keeps on popping up. The only thing I can presume is happening is as it writes to the temp file or something that that is setting it off...

It seems that getting the hang of how to upload updated stuff to the wiki is one of the most frequent questions I get.
So here is a step by step instuction:

1) Start by adding "?action=upload" to the end of the url of your target page in your browser (e.g. http://www...../SkinScan?action=upload)

2) Enter the name the uploaded file should have in the box after "Name attachment as:"
NOTE! Do not use spaces in file names, as this is reported to not work correctly.
(Since you are not allowed to remove any files, you should probably keep it as it is.)


3) Browse to your local file you want to upload (The file will be renamed once you upload it.) on your local machine

4) Hit upload

5) Post questions here, if something is unclear ;-)

I've upgraded to .238, and I like what I've seen so far, especially the small files sizes due to the VBR encoding. Very nice!

In my recordings list, the shows were grouped by show by default. I don't like this view, because I don't have many multiple episodes of one show, so it just adds another menu level to play a show. In the config app, I unchecked the box marked "show recordings group by show". When I restarted GB-PVR, the recording list was back to normal, but when I used my Hauppauge silver remote to select a show (by pressing the 'ok' button), it just refreshed the recording list. If I scroll down the list again, I get an error (Error: Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection. Parameter name: index). However, if I choose the first item on the list, it plays, but it plays the wrong file. I suspect that the graphic is representing the list of recordings not grouped by show, but internally it is still behaving as if they were grouped.

The weird thing is, if I use the mouse and double-click on the show in the list to watch, it works fine. There must be a difference between the remote 'ok' button and a double-click with the mouse.

I have an Hauppauge 350 and Win XP Home Edition.

Add ReOccuring Recordings:

This is a small utility that will read in a file called Reoccur.txt. This file contains a list of Phrases to search the Episode Guide database, and add any occurence of the phrase to the
GBPVR scheduler. Each phrase needs to be on it's own line. For example, to add to the scheduler every episode in the guide that contains Sylvester Stallone, you would put in the Reoccur.txt file:

Sylvester Stallone

The program will then search episode Titles and Descriptions. If either of these has this exact Phrase then it will be added to the scheduler. If an episode is already in the scheduler it will not be
re-added.

This currently will search a max of 30 days out from the current date that the program is run.

Reoccurr.txt must be in the GBPVR directory, as well as AddReOccuring.

A log file is generated by AddReOccuring every time it runs. Also, any Console activity may be redirected to a file with the following command:

AddReoccuring > filesadded.txt

This program has been tested with GBPVR 0.238 but should work with at least version 0.22.

You can either run this manually, create a Windows Scheduled Task, or add it to the PostUpdateEPG.bat file. You may add as many phrases as you want to the ReOccur.txt. You'll want to keep an eye on your scheduled recordings, as the list can start to grow pretty quickly.

Sub or anybody else, is there an easy way to add a Season Recording to the system?

What is appears has to be done now, is use the ScheduleHelper to add the Season recording to using the ScheduleHelper.TYPE_SEASON and the group GROUP_ALLOCATE, then loop through the channel you are adding a recording for, find the episodes, and add a ScheduleHelper.TYPE_ONCE and the appropriate group number.

Just looking for a little guidance on what is the easiest way to go about adding season recordings so that when the EPG is updated it'll pick those season recordings up that were added from the Web Admin.

I am trying to install .238 on Win XP Pro Service Pack 1. I have tried on 2 computers that have previously worked with past versions of GBPVR and the Hauppauge software. So I am installing and I get an error message that says "Error 1904 C\.....MSADO14.dll failed to register. Hresult 2147024769 Contact support personel. I have tried to reinstall the Hauppauge software, their current beta, and it works fine. I tried uninstalling the old versions of GBPVR also. Anyway the net result is that the MVP will not make a connection the the server and I cannot contact the server using program files/ gbpvr/gbpvr either.

I also tried just ignoring in the install like it said in a previous post, that didn't work either.

Any ideas?

I've just installed V0.23.8 and it starts up fine. I've got as far as watching live TV but am then unable to return to the main menu - the video simply freezes.

I don't know whether it's related or not but the status program seems to be permanently attempting to access the web from the moment it's started (not just when the video freezes).

Please let me know if I need to send you anything to aid with debugging - I'm a bit new to this.

Am I the only one that can't add custom tasks or create a new menu in .238's version of config? I can add the new menu but can't add anything inside it.Adding to custom tasks doesn't do anything when I click the button?? Any ideas???

When I uncomment the two lines that show the time and the future recordings on the main menu I noticed my GBPVR process starts sucking up most of the CPU. It goes from 95+ for a second, back down (< 10) then back up to 95+ the next second and so on.

This is on a AMD 1600 chip.
