  Divx/Xvid not working after .238
Posted by: stattik - 2004-12-04, 03:32 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

First Sub, I'd like to say that GBPVR is an amazing application.

With .227 I was able to watch divx/xvid shows. After installing .238, I just get a blank screen when trying to play them. I even tried completely removing .227 before installing .238 and the same thing happened. After uninstalling .238 and reinstalling .227, I can watch xvid/divx movies again.

Any ideas? Has anyone else had this problem?

  LifeView FlyVideo 34FM doesn't work
Posted by: normanr - 2004-12-03, 11:45 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (7)

I have recently aquired a LifeView FlyTV 34FM :-)

Trying to get it to work with the GO plugin.

The GraphEdit Filters are:
LifeView TV Tuner
LifeView FlyVideo TV Audio
LifeView FlyVideo CrossBar
LifeView WDM Video Capture

I added "LifeView FlyVideo" to the go.ini, and renamed "LifeView WDM Video Capture" to "LifeView FlyVideo A/V Capture" in the registry.  It gets further but I think there's a bug in the GO code.

This is particularly because of these two VERBOSE errors:
ConnectPins: 'Video Decoder Out' to 'Analog Audio In'
Failed to connect Crossbar 'Video Decoder Out' to Capture 'Analog Video In'

Notice how it's trying to join Video to Audio, and then denies it :-)

contextual logs are attached.

submenu task images + main menu image
Posted by: reven - 2004-12-03, 05:17 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

sub can you make it so in the main menu folder, you can use say "[submenuname].png" as the task image for the submenu, and add "task.png" to the main menu, to be used on every main menu button. i think that would be the best way to do it.

cheers,
reven

hehe main menu task.png works now, i knew i shud have checked that one; so now im wondering if the submenu task image is already available, is it?

As I can't see how to make a poll I'll presume this forum software won't allow it and thus just post below this with the name of the skin you use...

  DVD event
Posted by: VFDDeveloper - 2004-12-03, 11:12 AM - Forum: Developers - No Replies

Hi,
I want to display DVD information on my VFD.
The IEventNotification interface doesn't support an event or EventType such as "CurrentDVDTrack".
Is it possible to add such an EventType?
Moreover is it possible for you to handle DVD information like mp3 data and set the information into a "DVDPlayList" which includes the length of the current chapter, the position of the current chapter etc.?

  anyone using no virtual memory?
Posted by: reven - 2004-12-03, 09:17 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (17)

i was reading black vipers webpage (think its his name) and he said if you have around 2gb of ram you could get away with no virtual memory, which would speed things up. i was wonder if anyone had no virtual memory, and how much ram they have and how there system responds. since all im going to be using is basically gbpvr, i was wondering if i could get away with this with around 1gb ram or 1.5gb ram (1gbram is quite expensive, and i only got 2 ram slots on my motherboard, 512 is kinda cheap, in nz that is).

at moment i got it set to 1000 megs inital and max which does help, but only got 256meg ram at moment.

remote button to jump to live tv/tv guide
Posted by: reven - 2004-12-03, 08:21 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (7)

it would be nice if you could just press a button on the remote ("Go" or something on hauppauge remote, not sure on mce) that would take you directly to live tv, so you dont have to navigate back to the main menu and goto live tv, or if your in live tv that buttons function would take you to the tv guide. i often find myself wanting to check out the tv guide during live tv (since the miniguide isnt fully finished yet), and well if i cant find any programs to watch, ill just check out live tv. just be handy, shouldnt be to hard to do, just got to find the right button.

  Issues with VideoArchive
Posted by: PeterM - 2004-12-03, 07:20 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (3)

The new VideoArchive release (Beta4) has very good functionality, but it has become extremely slow. To scroll from one program title to the next one in the "Current and Archived Recordings" left pane takes anything up to 15 seconds... (and the CPU utilization goes very high). I run on a Pentium 4, 1.8GHz, Win XP (SR2) with PVR-350 and PVR-250.

I have also noticed that the TV Guide in Sub's release is a little sluggish scrolling to the right, but nothing compared to the VideoArchive plugin.

In fact I cannot use VideoArchive with MediaMVP - it times out and reboots the MVP all the time.

Any thoughts?
