O.K.. I'm missing something really simple here... I'm trying to use Net radio and the Music Library but I'm not able to get any sound out. I've routed my 350 sound output to my line in on the sound card and I'm hearing the everything perfectly. I can play mp3's using the builtin windows media player and hear everything perfectly. Now when I try to use the net radio or Music library to play anything... Nothing... no sound... Anyone know what I might be missing?
Whenever I have a show recording and I try to play it inside GB-PVR, it stops the recording. Is there any way around this? If not, will the issue be addressed in a coming release? Thanks!
Maybe even yesterday. I haven't done ANYTHING (having to do with my GFX and TV cards or the OS) these two days.
For GBPVR I just added (for the heck of it) the LCD plugin that a user in here made (although I haven't seen it working... nor is present in plugins tab - could this be related?) and I just deleted the source and re-added it twice (because I wanted to clean up my channel list and build a new one).
So (after this long intro) what is the bug?
I cannot see ANY graphics displayed over my TV screen! I remember when I pressed a number in my remote it used to display it (with a very small font) at the bottom right. Also I could pop up the mini guide... now nothing happens. I just see tv playing and nothing goes over it!
(btw remote is working, if I press 3 and enter, I do get to channel 3, I just don't see number 3 on screen nor info about the channel).
My TV is using overlay, but this is what it used all the time.
It's a WinXP SP2 machine with DX9c.
First of all, thanks to Sub for the great software. I've tried many pvr programs and this one is more stable and reliable than any I've seen. Two suggestions though:
1)If I restart my computer during the recording of a show, gbpvr overwrites the existing file before the reboot. Can you have the program rename the second file so that the first isn't overwritten, like _01 or_02?
2)I use gbpvr in conjuction with other programs for my htpc. I regularly use the commandline options to launch individual screens. Can you add a commandline option for the DVDRipper and SysInfo screens, like -dvdripper and -sysinfo. This would help out alot.
Is there an api to determine a conflict in scheduling? I am working on my find fast plugin that needs to display the conflict window if program a conflicts with program b.
But I want it to work the same way as Search Guide. I know it handles seasons a bit differently. If someone has an idea of the logic that it uses I would appreciate it.
How about the ability to spawn an external program either before or after a recording takes place?
What I would like to do, is run a small batch file before and after a recording to send me an e-mail or even an SMS message indicated the start, end (or failure) of a recording.
(I'm assuming that I would be able to pass command-line arguments to the external program.)
I could see this being useful when I'm out of town and it would be nice to know that the recordings are happening as they're supposed to.
I ultimately envision an application that might scan the finished mpeg file and send a couple of sample frames in an e-mail. (with a gmail account, this wouldn't severly bog down a server)
So are there any tags that should be or could be in XMLTV so that I give to GVPVR ADDITIONAL information?
More specificaly is there a way to READ from the XMLTV.xml file:
- the channel frequency (for example Greek NET is channel 44, because now I had to edit those manualy as all where imported as channel 0)
- the channel's position in the list (as seen in your configuration last tab - again I edited them manualy)
- channel information even if the channel is not supported by an EPG source (in other words what tags are minimum just to DESCRIBE a channel and be automaticaly added in the list with its name and frequency, without having any real EPG data for it ...and yes now I had to add them manualy and I'm afraid to lose them and have to add them again manualy in case I have to delete PVR source again!
sub what is the name of the control you used for the video library and music library in the config app. the table thingy with the columns "Name" "Directory", i tried finding it in vs but i couldnt find it. is it an extra control you downloaded somewhere? if so is it free? do you remember where you got it?
im looking for something similar (or that exactly) for a plugin.
cheers
I already read about this problem somewhere in this forum but am not sure if a resolution was mentioned. The MVP resets itself very often for me in conjunction with GB-PVR. Specifically, after having watched Live TV or a recorded show for a few minutes, when I then press the 'Menu' button on the remote, the screen first goes blank, then either it stays like that or the MVP goes into its "Connecting Servers" mode (essentially a reset). Often it then recovers back to the GB-PVR screen, but sometimes it just stays in search mode and I have to restart the GB-PVR recording service on my PC one or more times for it to work again. It seems that this is more likley to occurr the longer I have watched a show. If I just go to Live TV for a few seconds, I usually don't have that problem. Could it have to do with some buffer filling up over time?
If you want, I can send you the logs I have. Just let me know which ones in particular you would like to have.
Thanks
-Jan
P.S.: Just for the archives, my MVP is a rev. D3A.
