  Girder Events
Posted by: danward79 - 2004-11-01, 07:33 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi,

I am looking for a solution... I have a setup of Girder and NR, I use another pvr at the moment, which I had to pay for... Anyway,

What I need is for someform of feedback to girder, when the state of the software changes. i.e. from play to fwd, or rwd, or stop or pause. etc, etc.

As far as you know whould this be possible? or is there some form of plugin which could do this?

My primary use is for changing the play button to pause when the video is playing and vise versa.

Any ideas, welcome!

Dan

  Creative Dxr3 Decoder Card support
Posted by: askelhorne - 2004-11-01, 07:12 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

On my wishlist is support for Creative Dxr3 decoder card. More specifically, I would like to be able to use the Dxr3 decoder board to playback recorded vides and video files in the video library through the PVR software.

  slow live tv
Posted by: toyotaboy - 2004-11-01, 02:41 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I'm using the avermedia M150 and when I either look for a listing in tv guide and select a show to watch live tv, or go directly to the live tv button, it's between 8-10 seconds before it actually starts. Is this normal in the software or is it my capture card's fault? I couldn't see anything until I installed a software MPEG2 decoder (stinky MPEG2 codec). I thought this card has an mpeg2 decoder, or is that handled by my video card? (running a geforce 2 MX200). Even that isn't a big deal since I"m probably going to mostly be using it to watch pre-recorded shows rather than watching live tv, but here's another question. How do I get back to the main menu when I'm either watching live TV or a pre-recorded show? and can I fast forward a recorded show somehow? I'm using a wireless keyboard until I find a remote I like, so if someone can just tell me what keyboard command works I'd appreciate it.

  [sub] IEventNotification, event pb
Posted by: tybreizh29 - 2004-11-01, 01:14 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (1)

Hi,
There is (I think) a mistake, when switching to liveTV. You send
twice CurrentChannelName with channel name, then channel number. You do not send the "CurrentChannelNumber" event.

After my LCD plugin, I may work on a DVD writer plugin with the Nero API, have you planned to do something for the DVD recording, or is there someone working on that?
Is there a chance you'll put GBPVR on sourceforge to find people working with you? it could be nice to have GBPVR on Windows like MythTV for linux.
Regards,
Bzh

  PVR2000
Posted by: heatsync - 2004-11-01, 09:28 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

I have this card and am using the included winfast PVR application which is OK but nothing to get excited about.

I am thinking of giving GBPVR a try and saw that the PVR2000
is supported but the only thread I found on setting up and using the card with full functionality sort of left things hanging. I wonder if just including the script that sub provided in the ini file is enough. I will of be using the latest 1007 drivers from Leadtek, but I note that the connexant drivers were mentioned on the SageTV site and could make the card work with their application. Does anyone know if this would make a difference. Finally I would like to use the firely remote with this card (via girder is need be). Anyone know how this might be accomplished or would I need a blaster with learning to mimic the Leadtek remote since it is directly connect to the card and not USB/serial etc.

TIA

  TV Out (S-Video)
Posted by: kverde - 2004-11-01, 05:30 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

I have everything working like a charm (two 250 tuners) and I just hooked it all up to the TV in the living room. After a small modification to make it output on the TV, there is a small, small problem:

The video on the TV now has a small, but noticable stutter. It just "jumps" a tiny amount, otherwise it all looks and works like a charm. Do I need a better TV OUT (maybe the pvr 350) or XCard, or is there something else I can do?

yes, I am new at this, so any help is appreciated.

PS. GB PVR rocks!

  Question about Dual Tuners
Posted by: zed - 2004-11-01, 03:01 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (2)

A quick question about dual tuners (that is, having two TV cards in the same PC)...

Do they both have to be the same? I'd like to add a second tuner. The PC is full so I'm thinking about a Hauppauge USB-2. The existing tuner is a Blackbird based unit by Asus, I think (PC is an HP media center system) and works great. Would that combination work OK? Anyone using a USB-2 box?

Thanks...

  Video Card Help
Posted by: colPhorbin - 2004-11-01, 12:44 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (8)

I am new to this whole BYO PVR scene and I'd really like to have my own GBPVR box.  I have an old PC with an ASUS V8200 Deluxe graphics card with s-video in and out.  I have DirecTV Satalite.  So the question is will my video card work as a sufficient capture device and I could get an IR deal to control the tuner or am I going to need to get some cheap TV card with s-video in that is supported on the list?
Also I am a total video junky and have an HDTV so I'd like the best picture quality possible.  Should I envest in that XCard with composite output?  Any suggestions?
