Stu, need help one more time
Posted by: pcostanza - 2004-10-18, 03:06 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

OK, so it was working. Finished recording and later came back and got the message that it 'failed to communicate with the GB-PVR recording service. This software is possibly not running. After rebooting, try again."
Rebooted and still the same message.
Thanks again,

When does 'Pending' list get updated?
Posted by: kenz - 2004-10-18, 02:45 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

When does the list of pending recordings get updated?

I have 4 'record season' items and noticed that one stopped being recorded. Also there was no corresponding item in pending, yet the others had pending items.
I restarted the service, no change.
I deleted the 'Reoccuring' entry and re-made it, restart service - no change.

How can I tell if it will record tomorrow or not?
BTW - the show is 'Oprah Winfrey', which is a daily weekday show.
The ability to season-record Oprah is how I sold the idea of a PVR to my wife.

_Ken

p.s. Thanks to sub for all the hard work, I have been involved with a project like this and know the effort involved!

  Can't get live tv
Posted by: pcostanza - 2004-10-18, 12:59 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I can't seem to get live tv to work and get the message "VIdeo is playing back using tv out Press home to return to the menu". Obviously, something isn't set up right and I don't know what it is. I've played with the config so much, still nothing. I'm using the Hauppauge 350.
Can someone send me in the right direction?
Thanks

  Can't watch Live TV but...
Posted by: rtiangha - 2004-10-18, 12:29 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I'm having trouble watching Live TV after upgrading to 0.227.  The error I get when I select Live TV is: "Error: Failure playing back file".  I did screw up updating my zap2it listings the first time, so I formatted my hard drive, installed Windows from scratch, tried it again but I got the same error.  Strangely enough, I can still record programs and watch them later, I just can't watch live TV.

My specs:
Windows XP Pro w/SP2
Microsoft .NET 1.1 w/SP1
Hauppauge PVR-250 Model 976
Video:  Geforce 4 MX 440
Sound: Chaintech AV-710

I've also got Comskip 0.50 in the gbpvr directory.

Here is my gbpvr.exe.log file (I can supply the others if you wish):

  Recording full, but not
Posted by: aegisx - 2004-10-17, 10:52 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Strange issue...

Im playing a show I recorded under the last update, on the new version.

The program about an hour and a half in, skips back to somewhere near the start..

BUT, if I FF it with the info screen, I get past that point and see the right parts of the show, but the minute I hit play, it skips back to an earlier part of the movie.

  playing pending recordings stops prematurely
Posted by: -x- - 2004-10-17, 09:58 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

Dear Sub,

installed gbpvr 2 days ago to run it with my pvr350 on the tv and I am stunned about the great work you did!

I have problems though watching a program which is currently being recorded. It seems that the program is played without any problems until the length/duration of the recording is reached up to which it was recorded when the playback started.
Example: Starting to play after 15 minutes have been recorded the payback stops after 15 minutes even though the recording has continued for another 15 minutes.
Seems like the playback for pending thus still growing recording files is delimited by the filesize. Watching the stream e.g. with vlc does really play it until the end of the recording is reached. But that does not output to the tv ;-).

my wish: could you make the playback of recordings with status "recording" limited only by reaching the actual end of the file?

Cheers  -X-

How can i set up MediaMVP as hardware decoder?
Posted by: soliddreams - 2004-10-17, 09:31 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi,

i'm Attila from Hungary. I have PVR-250 and now a MediaMVP too. I'm very happy [Image: biggrin.gif] but...
In GB-PVR Config App i can't find setup window or row for MediaMVP (GB-PVR 0.214). As hardware decoder i can choose only from 3 items: 1.) None - Software decoder 2.) PVR-350 Out 3.) RealMagic XCard. Where can i set up MediaMVP as HW decoder to put GB-PVR to my TV?

Thanks

  No live TV after update

Can't seem to watch live tv after I updated. It goes to a black screen (with program info at the bottom). I see the Play button (MVP) flashing in the corner, then the stop button, then Im at the menu. Attached is part of the log. This is also after an XP SP2 upgrade. Everything worked ok before.

  Shutdown and Bios wakeup
Posted by: tybreizh29 - 2004-10-17, 04:21 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

Hi,
I'm trying Gbpvr and I'm wondering : If I make a program to record TV, can Gbpvr use the Bios settings to wake up the PC at the right moment? Is there a chance such a feature could be done if not yet?
Regards,
Bzh
