I usally start watching recordings before they have ended, but can't skip forward during this recording. Anyone suceeded with this?
I have reconfigured fast forward to skip 10 seconds, but this, as well as skipping 1 minute freeze the playback. If I stop and when start playing again, select "resume", it also freezes.
I've also seen this happen during timeshifting when the lag becomes, say above 30 minutes. Shorter delays works fine for me.
(I have a 3GHz CPU and it works fine if I watch and skip already recorded shows, even when recording is going on).
We all know that gbpvr creates relatively large files - so much so that I know want to compress some of the videos more. The question thus becomes what do you use to compress you're video's. I'm used to compressing DVD's, but as these are mpeg's the programs I use wont touch them.. so what do you use and why?
I can't seem to use the Jukebox plugin; every time I try to load it up it immediately exits reporting that an 'Object reference not set to an instance of a variable'. Anyone have an idea? (I had not actually used it until now)
Also, can the jukebox play CDs?

Hi everyone the latest version of GBPVR is excellent I'm actually using it as intedned and it works great. I'm not sure if this is possible or if it might be a wishlist possibility so here goes. I want GBPVR to start up automatically as the systems comes up from a reboot or powerup. I do not have a keyboard I typically VNC to the PC and login that way. I have it plugged into my tv with the PVR350 so it's really my main tuner. Is their anyway of having it start up in the background as a service? I know the the recording service starts up that way but i'm not sure if the GBPVR.EXE can start up during bootup and minimize itself without having to login? Any ideas would be appreciated also I know that I can have windows xp do an autologin with the registry but I want to avoid that for security reasons, if that's the only way for now then I'll just do that.
If possible I think an additional Season 'Record Type' would be very useful. I make use of the 'Record Season (all episodes in this timeslot, this channel)' which is great, but I end up with duplicate shows as they are often repeated in the same timeslot but later in the week. May need to think of a catchier description but I think a 'Record Season (all episodes in this timeslot on this day of the week, this channel)' option would be very beneficial.
Was familiarizing myself some more with GB-PVR and decided to try playing a DVD. The DVD plays fine and with a little trial and error (i.e. button mashing every button), discovered that the Blue button on my Hauppauge remote takes me to the main menu and that the OK, FFWD, RWD and skip buttons seem to work as expected.
However, I was wondering if it's possible to control the DVD menu using the remote. None of the buttons on the remote seem to control the cursor on the screen so, short of using the mouse, it doesn't appear that I can select things such as Scene Selections and Bonus Features.
I thought I could hack the irremote.ini file and add in some directional controls (somehow), but I see that GB-PVR has commands for all the buttons already. I don't think that one can overload button functions so I'm not sure if this is feasible (although I do notice that WinTV has multiple entries; can I do the same thing for GB-PVR?). Is there any way to control the DVD's Menu using the remote?
That said, I was wondering how DVD playback is done. Does GB-PVR call on another application to do the DVD Playback? If so, then would it be possible for me to program in button controls for that other application using the irremote.ini file to do the things I'd like it to do (for sure, basic things like move the cursor left, right, up, and down and perhaps more advanced things like Zoom, Subtitles, Audio, etc)? Don't mind doing the work myself, just need a little nudge in the right direction.
I have just bought a new PVR 350 but I have a problem with the remote. It seems to be working fine in the menus, but as soon as I start Live TV I get a message box with title "IR Startup" and the message "Found IR Controller(30) FW version=16" I looked into the logs, but there seems to be nothing logged for this problem.
Please help this looks like a great program but with this problem I cannot use it.
I also have another informative question. I used to live in the US and my TV is NTSC. Now that I moved in Europe I had to use an NTSC/PAL converter to be able to see any TV. My PVR is PAL, but I would like to use the TV out of the 350 but output NTSC video to the TV in order to bypass the converter, which screws up the picture quality. Is there a way to convert the format on the fly to NTSC format?

When I try to change the quality profile setting from medium to high, it goes back to medium. I am able to change the medium bitrate and it stays but I'm curious as to why I'm not able to keep the high setting.

I have some problems in the higher channel range I've not had with my old AIW card and nothings changed on the cable side except my new system and card.
